As I'm sure many of you have noticed, the Multitool Encyclopedia is in rough shape. In an effort to bring it up to date, I have been combing through various pages, trying to work out a good general format for each of the pages. While the bulk of working out the formatting is complete, implementing that formatting is going to take a massive effort, which I simply cannot do alone. So, I am reaching out to the community to help bring the Multitool Encyclopedia up to the same level as the SAKWiki. If you are interested in becoming an editor, please let me know in this thread. I will be, creating a separate thread in a couple days detailing how you can help with the current pages.
In the meantime, I would love it if you posted any suggested edits here. That means anyone not just editors. Are you, a semi-sane Multitool.Org member, browsing the Encyclopedia, and notice a stray punctuation mark? Is something incorrect? Do you have a suggestion for pages to add? (Because I am painfully aware of how many missing pages there are). Make a quick post here, with a short description of the problem, and a link to the page (if applicable). It will make our jobs as editors much easier, and you get the opportunity to contribute something lasting to our little family here at MT.O.
Thank you in advance for all your help and support.

I actually just went over to the encyclopedia and noticed that it was needing lot of info on quite a bit of tools  I am willing to do what I can to help :tu: Never edited wiki stuff so I may not be much help though :-\

It's not so bad, especially the content adding part. Most of the coding work you will be doing is copying and pasting, and following directions :tu: Its not hard, I promise.

This reminds me that I can't edit the SAK wiki, I'll have to take a look at the MT wiki

also, PM enki_ck if you are having issues editing the SAKWiki

Have the LM one piece tools been added anywhere beside the timeline? I was looking at the MT list and I know they aren't there but wondering if I missed them being somewhere else  Also are we gonna add the LM knives retired and new to the list? Perhaps we need sub categories for the OPTs and the knives  :D
-
If so I will be busy for a while :ahhh :D
-
Havent decided how to include the OPMTs, as I dont think they dont really deserve their own pages.... the LM knives are another story

The 1-10 tools 1 page and then we could categorize the other together perhaps

 I really don't know what happened there :D You could edit it to make some sense though :pok: ;)
I actually think I was coming home from work (riding) and we got to where I park my truck in the mornings and I thought I had finished it when I pushed send but I am gonna go with it must have been a glitch

Hi there guys. I just wanted to contribute because I like things to pack as much info as possible. I don't want to be an editor, though, but I just noticed on the weight chart that two tools I have are missing:
SOG PowerPlier: 8.46 oz. or 240 g
(http://i1314.photobucket.com/albums/t562/ThePeacent/IMG_20160501_195106_488_zpsreia1oss.jpg)
SOG BlackTip: 9.70 oz. or 275 g
(http://i1314.photobucket.com/albums/t562/ThePeacent/IMG_20160501_195040_958_zpsyv2mrk1l.jpg)
Measured on a precision scale. If anyone would add the data I'd be grateful.
Thanks.
Great thread, BTW. Love updated wikis!
-
I just love that the Encyklopedia going to have a makeover. I like that place and it have helped me a lot in the past finding information. But it have been incomplete. The information is here just scattered in different places.
-
Thanks ThePeacent  even stuff like that is a big help cause the few editors we have don't have some or a lot of the tools that many of our members here have  any kind of info you have like measuring the tools open, closed, thickness, width closed and weight on any tools you have that you don't see on the wiki will definitely be a big help
I started with the Leatherman section cause that is where the bulk of my collection is and have had most of the tools with me an been measuring them or going here and LM website for weights or the weight chart of the wiki :tu: So any an all info like that is a help
-
I know there is a lot of good pictures available here but if there is need for any taken I can help with that. If I have that tool in question.

I would and keep the pics of both an just put it as a variation :tu: or is that version  I always have to check to see the difference :D
-
Ideally pics of both variationa on the main A100 page.
Honestly, im just posting on this thread to make sure I dont forget what needs to be done. I plan on comming back to all of my stuff in the near future.

If you want any pics of the A100 I've got one on the BOB. Just saying :tu:

My suggestion would be to have some way for people to search all the multitools using a bunch of criteria. A good example of this is gsmarena's phone finder: LINK REMOVED?
Maybe there is already something out there that does this; and I'd appreciate someone pointing me in that direction if there is.
-
Welcome to :MTO: anbudmor
Best not to have links in your very first post as this seems more like Spam than a legitimate question :salute:
We don't have a search feature with MTs as of now but we do have a SAK selector over in the Swiss Army Knights forum :tu:
If you have any questions about what MT you would like to get then start a thread and we.have plenty of people that will give you plenty of suggestions  :like:

Are there catalogs in the MTO Encyclopedia ? :hatsoff:
-
We have advertisement pages but not sure about full blown catalogs
-
Hi Poncho, I have several of them an can put them in there as PDF if you want, I have also the latest with the new FREE series. :hatsoff:
I can do it if I have an account and if there is a section where I can put them.
-
I can't activate accounts but sLaughtermed can :salute: problem is he hasn't been very actively lately  I will throw a PM to Grant to see what can be done and see whom else can activate an account
-
OK, thanks Poncho

Yves, I am sending you a PM now regarding it. :tu:

Poncho I can't login anymore to MTO Encyclopedia ? :dunno:
-
:ahhh the wiki has always been finicky  I will see what can be done :salute:

Try retyping the info in and not let it auto fill if that was happening :salute:
-
OK, I can login now

Thats great :salute: you can also PM me if you want to, if you need any help or have questions :tu:

Hi Poncho, I always get error 404 when I try to upload a catalog. Grant did already changed my account once but it is still the same. Without the authority to upload catalogs I can't do anything.
-
Email me one of the pdfs and I will see if I can get one to upload
