Title: Blue Dime
Post by: rdub934 on February 14, 2014, 07:07:13 PM
Don't know if this has been mentioned before, but I was just at target and saw this. Boy did I get some strange looks as I took the picture :)

I can't remember seeing that one before.  Of course, that might say a lot more about my memory than anything else. :D

Cheers for putting up with the odd stares for us.

I wonder if the quality has improved on this color variation? It seems to me like the red ones are nail breakers. My wife's green Dime was a lot better. I have never handled a black one.

Nope, that's the first blue one I see. :tu: Nice find. Wonder if it's a new edition or a Target special.

I checked Gerber's catalog and didn't see it in there. Not on their website either. Nor Target's.

Maybe I need to go back and buy them out? Lol

Funny, I actually picked up a blue dime at target today. $19.99. Seems really good, but I don't have a different color to compare to.

Has anyone else seen one of these in the wild outside of Target?

I saw the blue dime at target last night along with a black alox cadet.

I'll have to take a look, I like the dime and a blue one would be nice.  May get it and give it to my daughter.

I have a red Dime and it would take more than just a different colour to make me like it.

It's good for Christmas and birthdays cause of the package opener, I think that's all I have used on mine. Tbh it doesn't get any pocket or keychain time.

The way the opener is situated appeals to a lot of non-MT obsessed people.  I had a buddy of mine that viewed it as a bottle opener with the other tools built in.

Do you remember how much the black Cadet was?

I've got a green Dime and some of it is a nail breaker, some of it isn't.  The scissors spring quit from just being in the tool for awhile.  I just don't dig it.  I'm going to use it up and toss it.  It does look good in Blue though.

I'd love to find a blue Dime, but they are nowhere to be seen on the interweb.

Thanks much for the offer, but I will check out my Target.  I appreciate it though.

Lost my blue dime today. Fell off my keychain somewhere...  Only a few weeks old, too. Useful little bugger.

Sorry to hear it. ;)

That carabiner is a bad option for attaching to keys, the clip is too weak. Mine fell off a few times so i took it of before I lost it.

Just from that I assume that it's an S-Biner. ::)

So it wasn't the dime that failed it was your clip ?

The s-Biner failed on mine. Had it clipped by the bottle opener. Lesson learned.

So I just bought a black clutch to replace my lost blue dime. Not sure if I like it at all. I was quite fond of the dime...
