This emblem is a nickel-silver inlay. When did Victorinox use this style emblem?

Yes, from 1957 to ...

That is the emblem for the "Elinox" line of knives. As a nickle-silver inlay it was used from about 1957 until about 1973. There are some instances of the Elinox style shield being used as a stainless-steel inlay in the mid 1970s, but these are not common and typically only appear on certain knives (the Outdoorsman being the most common). 1974+ this style logo is mainly seen as a "hot stamped" foil logo at first for the Elinox line (until 1978) and then for the "Economy" line (Elinox is dropped) until around 1994 when it's dropped altogether. Post 1994 the Economy models get a hot-stamped version of the traditional Victorinox shield.

This emblem is on an elderly Spartan with Hoffritz markings on the main blade tang. The knife has a bail and 5 turn cork screw.
A big thank you to Rich and Jazzbass for the replies :tu:

Bumping an older thread.
I did a small favor for MTO Member Extraordinaire Joe58 and he sent me this Elinox Spartan as thanks. I collect interesting Spartans, and was thrilled to add this one to the set. I thought I'd contribute to this thread to keep it alive, especially since the OP's pictures have evaporated.
Thanks again, Joe!

I'm on a holiday now, but I just picked up a Handyman with the same logo today.
I'll post some pictureswhen I get back home.
I've dated the SAK 1973-1975 for now.
