Title: Motor Sport at the Palace(pic heavy)
Post by: kirk13 on May 26, 2012, 11:52:02 PM
I'm enjoying a rare 3day weekend as I write.I'd booked the time to go here:
http://www.motorsportatthepalace.co.uk/ (http://www.motorsportatthepalace.co.uk/)

As a kid I'd read my dads old motorbike mags, and as I got more and more into car racing,I'd see the old stories of racing at Crystal Palace.I eventually got there 8 or 9 years ago,and was very happy to fid an old program from one of the last bike meetings in the early 70s.

Back in the day, everyone from Stirling Moss to Mike Hailwood and John Surtess raced full spec Sports Cars,F2 cars and 500cc motoGP bike there.I was thrilled to find out that there was going to be racing(albeit sprints) there again.

Heres a few of the 180 odd pix I took
