I have absolutely nu use whatsoever for a knife that size (even my Garberg is serious overkill for my needs), but those Bark River knives are just so d*mn pretty .
EDIT: Micro Canadian was introduced in 2004.Cool knife Nix! :like: :tu: :tu:
Here's another entry - Thanks to Nix this little beauty gets regular use - It's lived up to its name and become an 'Essential' part of my set up.Great knife magentus! :like: :tu: :tu:

Gunny Hunter 3v

Nice knife sak60! :like: :tu: :tu:
Love that Hunter Gunny, sak60! I think the Gunny, and it's variants, is one of Bark River's best designs. :tu: :like::like: that Matterhorn Nix
Here another one that is winning me over: Matterhorn

Thin blade and hidden tang keeps the Matterhorn light and lively in the hand. Great little knife for hiking, and I've carried it on some days out hunting (although haven't required it's services); it carries really well.

That's a beauty, clown.
Those blue scale are really nice. :tu: I see it's a 'proto'. Prototype of what? Mini-Seax ? Carver? BRK has a few Wharnie's in their line, but the one you posted here is a gem!

Nice shot, Mags. Cool candle, too. :tu::salute:
I wouldn't take that blade to London just at present.......
This Essential is a lovely little knife - getting lots of use in and out of doors at the moment.

That's a bay Weasel and catch Baboon.
Left unchecked, the grass will literally choke off the sprinkler head and prevent it from raising up and watering the rest of the lawn. Since the whole system runs off pressure, if one sprinkler head is malfunctioning, the whole system goes down... So each year I have to trim away the matted root system that surrounds the sprinkler heads. Today was my day to do that.Could sinking some sort of plastic cylinder (piece of pipe, plastic jar with bottom removed etc) into the ground around each sprinkler prevent the grass getting too close? Perhaps replace the dirt on the inside with sand. Grass may eventually pop up inside it but worth a try?

And here is where my Blackjack Model 7 (made by Bark River Knives) comes into the story. I've tried various tools, but nothing works as well as a long, sharp, knife. My old Model 7 is perfect for the job.
Probably not what Mike Stewart had in mind for this model, but I'm going to declare it a victory.
This knife is made with A-2 tool steel and given an awesome heat treat. It takes a great edge and performs really well.

Awwwwwww, that's so nice, Mags.Lol - she's nearly 21 - I expect she'll take it to uni or the disco. :D
But do remind her not to take it to school. Schools frown upon such things these days.
noooooo!!! that is a surefire way to lose itBut what if someone at the disco needs some string cutting or a new walking/dancing stick whittled?

Ah, but what if it's the bouncer who needs some string cutting or a walking/dancing stick whittling? Then she'll be quids in!noooooo!!! that is a surefire way to lose itBut what if someone at the disco needs some string cutting or a new walking/dancing stick whittled?
that is a reasonable argument but bouncers tend to be the grabby lot with cool gear

I didn't even pay for the knife- i won it in a giveaway on another forum- and i still can't bring myself to mess it up just yet...
Sweet Barkie!
I'm in today with a Micro-Canadian. I pocket carry this one. A super-useful little knife, who needs a OHO?

Nah, I'm not worried about damage. It's the scratches, dings, scrapes, and patina that I was talking about. The knife is so pretty I'm having a hard time putting that first scratch in.Use 'em! :tu:But it's so hard to mess up such a gorgeous knife when I've got Moras and Ontarios and ESEEs...

Missed this the first time. By mess up do you mean damage? If by mess up you mean the knife showing wear then like Clown says, send it in for a spa treatment. I believe BRK has a really good warranty if you meant damage.
Careful! it is wicked sharp......
Great shot, Z! :tu:
Cabin looks nice. :like: So does the Canadian Camp. :like::iagree:
Got this BRK Bush Seax in this week. Havent used it yet just started carrying it this afternoon after work.

I really like the Essential. Had one at one point--a real gem.I think the name describes it pretty well. It is a great little knife for many basic tasks, including slicing. I also like how the handle allows a good grip despite the overall knife being so small.

The first Bark River I bought was this Bravo 1 LT version with Ironwood handles.
Loved it so much, I then bought a Gunny with the SureTouch handles.

Couple nice BRK's. Really like the Desert Ironwood. :tu:Thank you! :hatsoff:
That handle looks very comfortable. :like:
Bill Moran was a guy who knew a thing or two about knives.....
I think there were a few great pioneers in the resurgence of American knife making: Hoyt Buck, Bob Loveless, William Scagel, Bo Randall, and Bill Moran. We owe a debt of gratitude to these guys for keeping the craft alive and raising the bar for all knives. I think without these guys, we wouldn't have shops like Bark River Knives. :salute:

Nice Knife VM. Like the blade on it. Is it concave ground?
I think most all BRK knives are convexed, yes?
Either Mike Stewart likes that the best, or they find it the easiest to grind. :dunno:
In general, I like a convex grind, so BRK knives work for me!
I enjoy Mike Stewart. He seems passionate. And he's a bit of a legend in the knife industry, himself. :tu:
Thank you!
It is a convex grind.
You can see the convex shape a little easier in these pictures
Thank you VM! I like a good convex edge. :tu:
