Title: Anyone else… (little OT)
Post by: yud on August 26, 2009, 03:34:19 AM
Get sick of go though and deleting photos

Sunday I went to the Governor’s  Cup Regatta in Celina (hydroplane racing)  and I took 1,415 photos, which took down to +/- 800 (camera did not want to focus right) now it is at 470 now I have to take it down to less then 250 for Facebook then 3-6 for here.

So dose anyone else get sick of it?  Any secret to deleting photos?  Or do I just take a freakish number of photos?

Not me :)

However, I am a filing nut, so nothing thrills me more than going through filing cabinets, book shelves, drawers, hard drives, email servers, or audio/photo libraries and separating the wheat from the chaff, so to speak.

If a photo is blurry and overexposed, or you have not listened to a tune in four years, TIME TO GO.

(It's also easier to trim down your photos AT THE SAME TIME YOU LOAD THEM TO YOUR DISK!, if you don't do it now, you're not bloody likely to be bothered doing it in six months)

Whether or not the same can be said about a SAK that has a wobbly blade and a broken corkscrew is another matter entirely  :P

no clue

when I had film rolls per day (vacation only) 2 about 48 photos

1st digital camera photos per day of shooting (which were more then just vacation) about 100

2nd digital camera my new DSLR photos per day of shooting about 500

it is like they put a little voice in the camera saying "just a few more, and a few more after that," I only stoped at 1415 because the battery ran out.

I say to all beware of the little camera voice  :D

I have a DSLR but still think in terms of film.  I compose each shot then take it, so a typical day of shooting I will average maybe 40-50 photos.  Unless I am taking pictures of Liam, then its hold down the shutter and the wife goes through them later.  Typical hour of shooting with the baby I average maybe 200 photos.

Criminy!

What's that going to do to him?

I've seen maybe...a dozen photos of my entire life from 0-20 (after that it's all digital), and that's disturbing enough as it is!

Imagine a digital catalogue of your entire history.

AH!

Wish I would have known you were in town we were out floating around on the big pond watching a little bit here and there. Couldve got you a birds eye view. What did you think of the racing and the town?

Loved the races, did not really look around at the town, but I had been down there about 10 years ago and I thought it was a nice town :D

Some of the racers in the pits were even nice enough to talk with us
