Title: Plumber's long-term review of Swisstool Spirit?
Post by: powernoodle on January 11, 2015, 11:20:41 PM
Several months ago, I found a long-term review of a Swisstool Spirit, similar to JAfromMn's fine long-term MT reviews.  The guy who did this review was a plumber, and he posted pages and pages of pics as he used the Spirit on his daily plumbing adventures.

I'm looking for this review (I don't know why), and can't find it.  I don't think it was on MTO, and I don't remember where I saw it.

Does anyone recollect such a review on one of the other forums?  My google-foo is failing me.  Thanks.

Funnily enough, I found a post by the plumber on edcf just the other day explaining why he'd taken it down. Have a look here: http://edcforums.com/threads/swany66675s-edc-and-other-random-things.109902/page-74#post-2021852

Thanks.  Its disappointing that it is gone, because that was a fine series of posts.

Someone needs to recruit the guy, bring him here, and get him to post it all at MTO where there is no commercial prejudice  ;)

I was a bit lost by that, what was the deal?

The forum owner has a store, which finances the forum (and him). Manufacturers/dealers who will not do business with the store get adversely treated on the forum. In other words, what you read on the forum is strongly biased by the sales of the forum owner's store and not a true independent and authentic user opinions/feedback as is found here.

In short, you picked the right to join  ;)

Did seem a bit weird for him to pull the review.  I hadn't realised there was such a bias on edcf against non-advertisers.

This is not bueno Joel. Do not need another tool to buy right now.

This does remind me I have been slacking on Little Boys adventures though.

You got plenty of time.

I don't plan on starting it for awhile.

Something on my trusted work tools.
