Hey Mike,
I was just reading on the Gerber site and saw this too.
The first ones were sold in February of this year, it seems like a quick response to a safety issue.
Laceration if it doesn't lock in place?  Yeah, I would say that could be a big problem.
I hope no one has been hurt.

Gerber is pretty good about their recalls- they were right on top of the EAB recall a number of years ago.  It's good to see a company being proactive like that, and putting the customer well above the cost of a few injuries.

Eh, doesn't lock up properly.  I think that's something you should figure out pretty quick if you anything at all about pocket knives.

The one that really worried me with Gerber was a few years ago when they had those hatchets with knife in the handle, and sometimes the knife would come flying out if you swung the hatchet too hard.
