-P-38 with a small thick rubber band around it to keep it closed
-Fauxton
-Silver Grippers (amazing tweezers!)
-Micra (sometimes swapped for a Squirt when I'm carrying a multi with scissors)
-EDCdepot spy capsule with cut down toothpicks inside
Keys, Utili-Key, P-38, lighter, microlight, whistle and pocket clip. The ring is Mikko's mechanic's keychain. Not that Mikko took a keychain from his mechanic.
Though, of course, I wouldn't know about that...
I still can't get myself to spend £100 + on a small keychain tool. :-\

The finish on your P1D seems to be holding up well Prime. How long has it been on there in the pic?I can't remember when I put it on there exactly ??? but I remember changing the batteries twice in it.
My keychain heavy and bulky and a literal pain in my @ss but I find myself using all the items at least once a day so I'll keep it the way it is for now.

I just picked up a limited edition thick G2 Atwood Tibaby. I was able to get this because it has a nasty scratch on it. It's a user, so who cares! :D Peter only made 42 of them and said he can't get anymore of the thick ti stock. Too bad because I've owned over a 100 Atwood pieces and this is by far my favorite. I don't know what I'll do if I lose it. :(

In case anyone is interested, that is a solid titanium ring and Arc-P flashlight that is attached along with my keys. No.... I'm not a janitor!! (http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p306/Smelp/Smilies/bwahaharoll4vu.gif)
I almost forgot. The colored keys are a titanium alloy and they are super strong. Too bad they are no longer made. I do have a stash of blanks left when I worked in the hardware industry.

Where can one get one of those Ti rings? I love titanium, will try to post pics of my key chain later tonight.
Thx Gadget Guy, I tried googling it but came up with mostly jewelry.

Did you make the kydex sheath yourself?

It actually isn't very heavy at all. The GasBaby, Keysergeant, Sliver grippers and whistle weigh practically nothing and the only "heavy" bits are the few keys and the torch.
Good idea that. :tu: I'll pick one up.
Some of you guys are nuts, I could never have that many stuff on my keychain. Mine has three things, a fenix aaa light, a vic compact, and a key.Good idea that. :tu: I'll pick one up.
I see someone hasn't found out how much lithium aa/aaa cost outside u.s. yet. :D

It's not useless- imagine how warm you'll keep yourself, striking it over and over for hours on end trying to start a fire in the rain! :D

Is that the Jeep key or the house key? Or have you got them both keyed alike? That would be awful convenient!

Ben, your Arc is indeed a premium version! It's a premium GS I think!
My arc light is always on my key chain. Here's my setup, been this way for years, the vic key fob is over 5 years old. Thx GG for that Ti ring link :tu:

I don't have a car or my own business so that cuts down the keys. Also my back door is always bolted and locked so not much point in carrying that key :):tu:
I have a total of 22 on the set I have in my pocket and those in my coat. Plus, when I am work I could easily have another 15 on me.:o are you a prison warder ? :D

I'm up to 19 atm, organized in 4 sets, not counting computer lock and various locker keys. I guess I happen to be the trustworthy type of guy so many friends of mine just give me a spare house key, lest they lose theirs... ::)
That makes mine look small. :D

Looks like he's got a REALLY strong magnet in his undercrackers :o :DLOL :D
Does it look anything like this? :D
It really is only marginally longer, and is still very inoffensive despite it being considerably more useful in the cutting department :)
I'm not Gareth obviously (nowhere near as good with a Claymore) but I used to carry a 74mm Exec on my keys, and there that bit more capable that it makes it worth carrying one imo :)
[/q
I like the classics cos they are useful while remaining discreet. Is the ammbasador still as discreet Mike?
By the way, is the Claymore in a sheath or on a key chain? :DHe's a big lad, so wherever he want's to put it is fine by me :o :D
No split ring? Now that I didnt know :tu: Yep, If I go for one I'll defo need one with a s/r Are they difficult to come by?
OK, OK YOU CAN ALL STOP LAUGHING AT ME NOW!!!!! In my own defense, the web site I was looking at had the same pic for the ambassador and the exec, how was I to know?!!! Thanks for the link to SAKwiki, now I realise my mistake. One of you sods could have told me tho' :twak:

Very Nice! Thumbs up!Thanks John.
Theres been times I`ve had alot on my keychain. Right now the only extras are Uncle Bills Sliver Gripper and a H-1 Ladybug SE.
I used to keep so much junk on my keys that I now have a regular keychain and a gadget keychain. I only keep a Atwood Chigger on my regular keychain.Looking at that Chigger, one would think you could get away with it as a necklace.

True, it's a very small little bugger. It's my new favorite Atwood piece. Peter is sending me one with a nice "Antique Keyhole" stamp on it. :mail:

Not yet! But whilst the Royal Mail continue their policy of only employing work-shy people who think they have a god-given right to employment in return for second rate service - there's no need to worry yet ;)
I have a vic bottle opener, vic awl, and a vic phillips on my keychain.
Picture please, Zack? Wouldn't it work just as well, and not take up /that/ terribly more space just to get a Tinker Small?
Lets see hmmm
A uncle bills sliver gripper
A P-51
A Acme city "HELP" whistle tho I more often use it to get someone's attention from afar ;) if your friends know you have one it easier to find you in crowded places IMO,this I may replace with a flatter whistle when I find one :salute:
A gerber shortcut.
And soon to add ;)
A artifact
A pico widgy this to be used instead of my thumb nails :ahhh I should also point out this too can be used effectively for stealth defence tool :D
A larger widgy to be used for defence if necessary
All going with my keys on a flex loc key ring thanks yellowhammer

I really do doubt how good these flails are :think:I've tested it on myself, not full strength of course but just messing around and I gotta disagree with ya. If I hit someone up side the head really hard with mine they're gonna see stars. Plus, I would plan on hitting them more than once.
I'm fairly sure they'd sting more than they'd hurt, and would just piss your attacker of even more :-\

I really do doubt how good these flails are :think:I suppose that's actually a good point, I'd be more likely to rely on my a 2 aa torch like the L2D or something tbh. Was just an idea that I had. So +1 on Infinity Ultra :tu:
Which is dead easy as I don't do it very often :D

Usually this lot hangs in my pocket from a belt loop I made with a McGizmo clip on it. The SAK and light get removed when I have bigger ones in my pockitses.
What is that thing between the flashlight and the SAK? A screwdriver? Or a pen?
That's a nice one! I have a pen on my Manager, but I don't have my Manager on my keys all the time. I really like this one! :tu:What is that thing between the flashlight and the SAK? A screwdriver? Or a pen?

I've often wondered about a whistle. How often have you used it and for what situations?
I'd love to carry an Atwood whistle, but not if it's not useful :-\

how do you find assa at getting spare keys? at work they wont give us any -.- when we got the contract we got them to give us a 100 blanks now there all gone lol
its not a hassle for me as i acquired a master and sub master ;) but for other people it can be, its kind of a funny key system they put in before electronics existed keys for different areas were given out to keep people out of the wrong parts of the building
Looks like a good rig rlocock. I'd be tempted to move on and up from the Solitaire, much as I liked mine, there are better options out there now.

I have had a number of AAA torches over the years all of which have let me down (ITP A3 being the most recent) with the exception of the Maglite.
The keyring torch, like most of the stuff on my keyring,is there "just in case"so I think i will stick with it,and take my L1T or bigger when I know I am going to need a torch.

What's bothering me is that I've stripped my keys right back and it feels odd, but objectively I've really not lost anything particularly useful.

You mean, other than that warm fuzzy EDC feeling, right? :pok: :D
I've been trying to convince myself to carry a whistle, but don't really need it!
I have a shiny Atwood one which is great to play with but I'd hang it round my neck instead when it was likely to come in useful I think.

I'm training my dog to the Atwood. Less intrusive than calling out loudly to him.

Good plan :)
Mine is trained to me whistling fairly quietly, so I've never had an excuse as we only ever go to parks and she stays near enough.
Will you two shut up please.. :twak:
I just realised that I actually need a whistle... :P
5 keys (one with the TrueUtility Key tool), a lanyard, a Fenix E01, cuffkey. I´ve lost my Style CS, so maybe I will add a classic or something like that.

Thanks for the offer Chrissy, but I'll probably end up with one of atwoods anyway.. ;) :D

Left to right we've got:All carried on a Nite Ize S-Biner. I glued the bottom gate to ensure nothing disappeared. When I'm at work and visiting customers the car key set is detached from the rest and comes with me and I can use the P7 clip to attach.
- Whistle & key
- Spyderco Bug, LED Fauxton & key
- Clubcard, pill holder & True Utility Telepen
- JDR (http://"http://www.jdrknifeandtool.com/") Hammerhead
- Tec P7 Suspension Clip, Victorinox Signature II, car key, pill holder & a D22 Swiss Cross :D
I've had this setup for some time now an it works well for me. It is by no means heavy. If I wanted to streamline I could lose the Telepen as the SAK has a pen in it.
Nice. Why do you carry the handcuff key? :)
Hi,

What's the sexy looking whistle GG?
That is a custom titanium whistle with tritium. It is made by a guy I know on another forum. His whistles are waaaay better than the Atwoods and they're about the same price. Really well made. :tu: Oh... He sometimes takes custom orders. I had him make me one with a glass breaker on it but I sold it.

Very nice... is there a link to his work anywhere?
Good gear there GG. :tu:
Sorry to be off topic but looking at the universal wrench area found in this Atwood design, as well as other tools such as the PowerWrench II and a SwissTech tool (I forget the name of exactly), I wonder if the closed end could be reconfigured as a carabiner swinging gate, instead of a rigid closed circle. If you swing it outward and away you have an open box wrench ("crescent wrench"?) design which can address bolts that closed designs often cant get at, yet when closed shut it then reverts to being a more traditional and almost as strong/solid closed design. Anyone see what I'm gettin at?
So whats on your keychain?
Do you have a picture of the GM tool? I don't remember them.
Current gadget ring.Hey David, where'd you get that clip at the top of the picture? I assume that's for clipping on your pocket? Looks useful. :salute:

I know you all want the dog, and yes the small bottle has been useful in the past.
I'm trying this ATM, the compass carabiner is a bit bulkier than I'm used to but it's OK.
I do however have to take the Micra off or it throws the compass out quite badly. :D
Not a whole lot right now. I normally have a light but my 3rd Maglight Solitare burnt out so i'm in the middle of looking for a new keychain light.

The Fenix E01 isn't much larger than the Solitaire, and you can get about 11 hours off a single AAA; the best part about it, is that it's only $12-15. :tu:

The Fenix Eo1 is exactly what I was looking at for a new flashlight. Do you have one? If so how does it perform?
I have a couple, actually; I really like them, though you have to be careful; the narrow construction of the tube doesn't allow for Alkaline venting, so batteries have the tendency to swell; actually, I've been finding my Eneloops swelling, too, which should not be happening; I don't know what's up with it. Still, for the run time, I'd not trade the E01 for anything; it's the best AAA killer I know - if you think you have a dead AAA, put it in an E01, you'll have it running for several hours. The Gerber Infinity Ultra is the same way, only with AA batteries, instead. :tu:
The Chigger made it back onto the keyring. :tu: :)

I've used a SAK splitring to keep the PS from "accidently" falling of the rest of the keys.. :)You also could leave the small split ring where it is in this photo but NOT loop through the carabiner's metal gate, and attach the large (main) keyring just to that, leaving the carabiner gate intact.

Yup. They are a better size/function (than the Chigger). I like the Ghost as well. I've been carrying an E115 because I like the wrench set on it (since I'm not carrying the Wenger S557 at the moment).

Here's mine. Nothing exciting. I wish my darn car keys weren't so big (Hondas) but not much I can do about it. The only thing I'd like to add is a tiny lighter of some sort. I'll have to reseach and see what is good.

Seriously though, I'm looking at them and thinking how similar they are to pry bars. I wonder if some clever person, more adept at fabrication than myself, could construct one which serves both duties. Anyone?

I too like to keep my keys so they can be separated into two chains, keys and tools. Then on the tool chain I like to keep the useful tools like my Micra and Light on clips so they can be detached to easy use.

It's one of those discount cards that our local grocery store scans to give you discounts.
Starting at the "top". I have a cheap aluminum carabiner attached to my belt loop above my right front pocket. Attached to the carabiner, I have a woven paracord (used about 12 feet) lanyard about 7 inches long. On the bottom of the lanyard, there is another carabiner like the one on top. The bottom biner holds my stuff:Take it with your phone

It originated from here

To be honest it doesn't open all shopping trolleys :(

Here's mine keychain (click to enlarge):
(http://www.classicgod.org/Uploads/keychain%20%28kopia%29.jpg) (http://www.classicgod.org/Uploads/keychain.jpg)
County Comm titanium split ring, 2 Nite Ize S-Biners (sizes #1 and #2), pice of paracord, County Comms Split Pea lighter, Leatherman Squirt PS4 and a cheap LED light. Don't get me wrong - I own few Fenix LD01 lights but IMHO AAA lights are too bulky for a keychain. This cheap light has no electronics so it's practically water and dust resistant - if it gets wet so wet that it doesn't work I can just disassemble it with my PS4 and dry it out. And the best thing about it is that you get 10 for $5 and that includes batteries and shipping ;)

It's my homemade, stealth (covert), micro paper/box cutter, hidden in a "Hillman Flexible Key ID Tag", I presume with the same dimensions as yours with rounded ends, available at many, common hardware stores.
[Please read my warning in the Youtube link's description area, people, and don't break your local laws or absentmindedly forget you have it on you when you shouldn't. (Like when boarding a plane!)]
As mzil said be careful with this one guys.
Especially in the UK;
3. The Schedule to the Criminal Justice Act 1988 (Offensive Weapons) Order 1988(1), which specifies offensive weapons for the purposes of section 141 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988, shall be amended by the insertion into paragraph 1 of that Schedule after sub-paragraph (n) the words—
“(o)a disguised knife, that is any knife which has a concealed blade or concealed sharp point and is designed to appear to be an everyday object of a kind commonly carried on the person or in a handbag, briefcase, or other hand luggage (such as a comb, brush, writing instrument, cigarette lighter, key, lipstick or telephone).”.
Handy? Yes, but it could land you in trouble :-\

Funny! Never looked at them like that!!! Thanks to everyone for the very nice comments!! My wife scoffed the first time she saw it. But she has stolen the bottle dozens of times since ::).
My brother and I made roughly one dozen of these, and Bic lighter sheaths, over the course of 3 nights, in 2006, to send to buds in Iraq.
I am truly amazed how well they have held up, considering our complete lack of sheath making skills.

I like this set up but will replace the shard when I get something similar but nicer

Cool, Zed! :D The no brand MT looks quite stylish, according to me :D
I think I have the same carabiner somewhere... should find it..
I dont like much on my keychain but swapped my alox cak for this no brand MT as a good combo with my tinker, the blue thing is my works clock in key fob :D im my pill capsule is a ceramic stick a vics eye glass driver a safety pin and a button compass :tu:Very cool setup you have got there! :tu: I have also been looking for a pill capsule to put a ceramic stick in but they were all too small. The ceramic stick is from a Gatco Pocket X sharpener and is about 2,7" long. So I ended up with a Go Tube from Survival Depot. This thing is huge but has the advantage that I can wrap duct tape around it.

That's the Xikar MTX Tom. It folds out like a MT and has screw drivers and other cigar tools in it.

Guys, is a Widgy pry bar as useful as a knife edge? I know it's there to replace your blades, which end up broken, but if it does not taper to a thin edge, I can see most of the applications I need unfulfilled. I may just stick with the beater blade on my Sheffield multi.
It is a rather useful little thing :)
I like the lovely scarf you made for it too :tu:

Would you guys say that you prefer the Brewzer to the Widgy?
For those that have both (Widgy and Brewzer), which has a better, thinner edge for prying into narrow cracks? I like working with/demolishing electronics so this is one of the uses for any prybar I get. Also, is the boxcutter on the Brewzer equalled by any part of the Widgy bar? <-Second most useful function.
This is what I have now. But might test the new Gerber curve I just got. (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/01/19/uqedugaq.jpg)

Want to hear something amusing? I am sitting at a cigar shop while my wife shops in the Arboretum area in Austin. She shows up here with a Nite Ize Key Rack. She said she thought it would be something I would like.
What's the black thing with yellow dot on the car keyring? USB?It is a transponder for our home security system. The yellow dot is epoxy resin adhesive with glow powder. ;)

I guess that would answer my question if you get any us out of the True Utility Keytool. :D
I rediscovered my vic signature while moving this week. My car key was getting rather worn so I figured why not make a blue keychain setup. I'm pretty pleased but who knows how long it will be until I have to change SOMETHING out of boredom...

I need to incorporate a new method of carry now, I bought a new car an it has a huge remote chipped key.
So, what flashlight is it then? It looks like my stainless LD01, but I know they didn't make that in Ti (or so I thought!).

That is not a skeleton key. That is a key for a warded lock and a skeleton key is a device for opening (lockpicking) such locks. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skeleton_key)
Warded locks are quite common in our part of the europe. And I think that that key was made in titan factory? ::)
Be careful those S binders aren't very secure, get the ones with lock.

Updated photo. (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/03/18/guje6e9a.jpg)Sorry, just can't help it but with that keychain you must be walking like this >:D:
I never counted how many keys and stuff is there.
I use a central carabiner and I put my keys in teams, each one with it's own keyring. Color coded are the most used.
The car's keyring is my EDC and has the Leatherman carabiner, red LED light, Ladybug and Minichamp.
On my wife's car keyring I also keep the garage keys. There are also keyrings for my house, summer house, parent's house, office, clinic. 7 teams.

I carry it like this for about 12 years. Before that it evolved gradually. I always keep it at hand (when I walk from the car to one of the buildings), in the bag or in the car/house, but never in my pockets. That's because it won't fit in any pocket!

That's pretty neat but I'd be worried about the protective slide coming off in my pocket and getting cut!! :ahhhYes on both accounts. However, the protective slide coming off could easily be remedied, if there was an additional loop, so the keyring (or carabiner) can hold it in place (and a small slit, so it can still fully slide back).
^Then you might prefer the zipper pull version where the outer sleeve has a small tab extension, with a hole in it, so when locked by the McGizmo (or similar quick release) it is attaching to, the inner sled is locked from both forward and backward travel.:worthless:
Also, the one I show in the video is "loose", but much like the knife it is fashioned from, if you squish the outer sleeve it is nearly impossible to deploy by simply finger pressure, you have to tap it down hard against a table or other suitable hard surface.
Like it says at the end of the video, deluxe versions coming soon...Sorry, watched it at work, so no sound...

I EDC a Style PS, too. Didn't knew I could use it as a bit driver.Well, it's certainly not sanctioned by Leatherman, won't work in a situation with a really tight screw which needs lots of torque [there's only friction keeping the micro bit from flopping over within the two carabineer side walls, after all], and for reasons I don't understand it seems to fit better on some Leathermans than others. [The Style PS and CS clips look the same, (don't they?), yet the fit seems different. Its hard to explain; perhaps as they wear or bend things change? Not sure.].
CHALLENGE!
Maybe someone around here could try to transform these round holes into hexes, so as to fit the bits...

How about creating/finding a hex rod. The outer wall would be held against the reshaped hole, the inside would hold the bits.

Babola, I meant to mention before, I really like the color coordination of the copper ferrule and that specific paracord you chose. Looks classy.
Well, at least Leatherman should fix that for free under their "hassle free" 25 year warranty.
I've always liked the larger scissors on mini-Leathermans such as the original Micra, but for the smaller, fold-out designs I've always thought the Vic versions were better.

The basic idea of what's on my keyring doesn't change much, but the specific components change quite often. :)
Trying out some small S-biners that I picked up a few weeks ago. So far no problems, even if I don't lock them closed. Torch is my favourite Eagletac D25A Clicky. Squirt P4 is on there to support my Fat SAK and provide some pliers. Other than keys I've also got a neat 8GB USB on there as well. Not something I use very often, but if you need one there's not a lot you can do to improvise around it.
What's the make of those S biners?

That's the ones. Though I actually picked up this keyrack: http://www.niteize.com/product/S-Biner-KeyRack-Steel.asp Unlike the pic shown all the S-biners were the locking version when I bought them in a shop. 2 for $5 or 6 for $9? Makes sense to get some extras IMO.
I have gone thru more revisions of my key set up than I'd like to admit. I see some great setups but having to carry so many keys means not enough space for fun stuff.
I think I'm at 11 keys .
So sadly whats on my keychain are KEYS.
Just replaced my trusty Leatherman carabiner I worn for years with this HG one in Ti, making it the largest piece on my key chain now. That looks nice, is it all mechanical? I can't tell, is the gate conected to both the bottom and side to create the tension?

Great thinking!Yeah, I did it once to a aluminum one waaaaaay back when because everyone's got one but the freaking keys and everything else is on diff split rings, so as you drove all the others fell making the keychain twice as long and it would keep hitting you in the leg.. Drove me nuts  maybe that's why I am the way today? lol, but yeah I drill, no used the awl on my farmer to put the holes in, my only worry was that there is not a lot of plastic between the hole and edge, so I didn't know whether or not it would be strong, but I haven't had any problems yet(knock knock)! What I want to do is get both a red an black one and switch the gates out and go color combo, but am not to sure how the spring works on them..
Is that a new version of the TAD skull key, or a "reproduction"? ;) Nice work either way on the finishes. And nice to see you around. :D
Found a Micra in one of the downstairs drawers the other day. Shoved it in my pocket with the intention of sticking it with all the other Leathermans. Instead it's found it's way onto my keyring........:tu: It is!
Have to say, it's proving to be quite useful too :tu:

I tried a bunch of different combos, but I think this is the ideal setup for me. I wear slacks 5 days a week, son minimizing the bulge is my top priority.:-[

Ha. Some things are just funny, and talking about a bulge is one of them.
You know how sometimes you're walking and your cell phone turns horizontal in your pocket...I call that a phone boner. Ha!

Minichamp arrived todayHow do you like the Minichamp compared to the Rambler? Is the added bulk and weight noticeable? What do you intend to use the extra tools for (Orange peeler, emergency blade, cuticle pusher and ruler)?
Well, I looked to see what I had and just started without even a sketch. It's done but I want to try something else, I just had to take a break for dinner and to sit back because being hunched over the desk is really taking a toll on the back. Anyway here's a few pics, I put two clips in, Velcro the two flaps, on the back I put a loop on top so I can be carried with a carabiner, but also a snap to go around a belt. Oh and on the inside I kinda made a hidden pocket, you can see where I slid the sak in, what for I have no clue, but it's there! What do you think?

I ask as someone who is waiting on a Rambler that is in the mail and should arrive tomorrow, which will be upgrading my Classic. To me, Rambler seems like the perfect combination of tools, with out any added bulk.
Not saying your decision to upgrade to a Minichamp is wrong, that looks like an awesome tool! I am just curious what use you have for the somewhat odd extra tools you get.
Darn lol, I was asking mainly because I was fishing for a reason to get a minichamp too. :-pMinichamp arrived todayHow do you like the Minichamp compared to the Rambler? To be honest you can't beat a rambler, I just wanted a change but it is nice having a spare blade and that cut&picker tool is useful too. You won't be disserpointed with your rambler .

Are you kidding? Dude. Get one. Look at it. What's not to love? I bet Tim Leatherman cuts himself every night because he didn't come up with this. But seriously I have EDC'd the Mini Champ and LM Mini tool and there are very few gaps for the size, really.
Does anyone have the LM MiniTool on their keychain?

2.5", it's actually a fully functional one believe it or not.
It goes up to 10mm and can be used as a hex bit driver in lieu of the 'proper' one.

I was just looking for one of those today! Only found a 4" one... For €16 it was a bit expensive just to have as a curiosity. If I find a smaller/cheaper one I'll get it, even though I'll never really use/need it.

I envy you guys who have minimal keys. I am forced to carry an alarm remote for my '09 Chevy Suburban, which is way too big than it needs to be. My car alarm actuates if I unlock the vehicle with a key rather than the remote. Stupid Chevy.

Currently on my keychain: Vic Classic SD and the Quattro screwdriver. Great tiny combo.Talking about this screwdrivers, how would you guys attach it to your key chain? Clips?
I can highly recommend that Quattro screwdriver to anyone!
It's great, surprisingly useable. For those who may not know, it's a part for the Victorinox Swisscard Quattro cards, the official namecode is A.7235, you can buy it separately as a replacement part. I got mine at my local Vic dealer. They are usually priced between $2 and $4.

^ To add to that I'd like to point out two things:
A) although this is a rather poor multiway screwdriver compared to ones which are thousands of times heavier and bulkier, [think the conventional reversible 4-in-1 you keep in your kitchen drawer--seven inches long and that you would never carry on a key chain] it gets the job done 90% of the time and is so light you can carry it as EDC without a second thought.
B) "Quattro" is actually the name of the (no so great) plastic Vic Swisscard multi-tool gizmo this screwdriver slides into. The screwdriver itself actually is made such that each of the Phillips head bits fit two, not one size of screw so in truth this is a 6 way screwdriver, not 4-way. Although perhaps not "optimally", some spec pages claim that the Philips tips cover: #00, #0, #1, and #2 screws, plus you have the 3mm and 5mm tips: 6 total!
As a replacement part it at least at one time was called: Victorinox 30532
Some ebay sellers list it this way

I have two keychains, with two different setups.
What I use the lock for is closing my bag when I leave it together with my classmate's and we go out for field testing and measuring (Topography, map making, GPS location, angle and orientation sessions). The bags are all together but the class is left open so all the other students and people can get into the room.
And there's many people in my school, some of them quite unfriendly looking.

(http://i.imgur.com/H85nFts.jpg)I have one of those old Gerber multi tools. Unfortunately, the blade tip is broken off. How do you like yours?
I cannot get my key chains on a diet. How the heck do you all get your keychains so darn tidy?
I have to carry several keys so I have one for that and one for my home and vehicle. I keep my manager and LM#5 on my other keychain with a Bic mini and several stupid keys.
My vehicle keys has the fob, key, button light, camper top and yakima rack keys, and house key.
I strongly dislike my key set up but I need those keys.
Updated since a page ago, I bought a car!Nice scales. Ebony? Did you make them yourself?

There are a few things to consider, the first is to make sure the keys are aligned along the same axis. Often people add more and more rings to their keys and they end up tangling and taking up a lot of extra space. I have never carried many keys but this still makes a difference. Another in to group them well, basically longer/larger keys in the middle and smaller to the sides as far as possible (less air between them). A good grouping can also help keep track of keys, one of my keyrings has two almost identical keys for different things but since I put them on opposite side of each other next to a more distinctive key for the same general area/purpose I can still keep them apart easily.
As it stands I have three different rings for different places but I have yet to find a nice way of attaching either of the two smaller, more specific, rings to my main keys temporarily. All solutions I see seem to mess up my first rule regarding axes.
And here it is, the extended keychain!

I've had this little Henley tool on mine for 3 or 4 years. Ok. So here's mine. Nothing controversial, I think :dunno:
1) The Swiss+Tech thing I've had for years (although I gave the original one to a friend)
FYI: All have travelled through many airports with me with no issues. They also come to work with me every day (at a major UK airport) where staff are subject to the same rules as passengers.
I just ordered a couple of these to keep the COVID-19 off my hands.

That looks like a clone of the Key Smart tool, what do you think the odds are it's actually brass? If yours turns out to be decent then I'll definitely be adding a couple to the cart!
Oh man, I am so dull and boring. With all the gear I could be EDCing, I like to go minimal with just a Swiss+Tech 6in1 Utili Key hiding among my keys.:like: :tu:
hi Powernoodle!!
:like:Thanks Aloha, I changed my mind multiple times, left things off, put them back on and spent half the afternoon having a great time doing it. Definitely cathartic and good to see it coming together.
I enjoy setting up keychains and carabiners and such. On one hand its relaxing to work thru options and set it up. Its interesting what I come up with while I work out what I'm trying to achieve. On the other hand once I get it set up I tend to not be completely happy with the set up .
I don't mind a heavier set up for outdoors as I like to feel the weight to remind be its there. I like what you've done and what you have on yours :tu:
2 hearing aid batteries and 2 antacids
Pro tip: don't get those mixed up.
After going trying quite a few different carabiners and one piece tools think I’ve now settled on my perfect set up…yeah I know you’ve heard that before
Received the Blank Forces Ti carabiner today, has both carabiner and pocket clip which is really useful, teamed with TEC Accessories Python-QR, Isotope Tandem Fob & Python clips, SAK Manager, Nitecore Tiki and a peanut lighter…and house key

I don't really do carabiners and pocket clips much but that does look stunning. :drool:Thanks Gareth :tu:

Have swapped between clipped to pocket and carabiner, both work really well
Was I the only one reading this as "Thanks girlfriend"?!
But yeah, waiting on some report on how the carabiner/clip options work.
 :tu:
Anyone up for a keychain tool challenge in mid-2021?I could go for that (they're pretty much all legal in the UK  )
Micra, Dime, Classic, Shard... :ahhh
That's how I read it everytime someone calls me that :rofl:Oops our secret is out… apologies GearedForwards didn’t see it but now you and pfrsantos say it, d’uh :twak:, it’s not an acronym I ever use but I’m not so old that I don’t know it, now I can’t unsee it, should remember from here on in…and your birthday :pok:

Anyone up for a keychain tool challenge in mid-2021?Was thinking of doing the 30 day Squirt challenge having recently done the Juice, sounds like it could be a way to do both at the same time
Micra, Dime, Classic, Shard... :ahhh
Just posted these same pics on the new member forum, but figured it would be alright to post them again here!Definitely! :tu:
...sadly, no longer the Classic... only keys or tools that look like keys on an old school split ring...
lately, it's been three keys :dunno::iagree:
Definitely! :tu:
Good looking keychain very practical :like:
Here's mine.i know buddy, hate those new lock and alarm keys 🔑 !!
Tool stuff:
Olight i1R (original). Small but bright.
Buck 283 Nano Bantam. Cheap to replace, and American made. Good quality too.
Nite Ize Doohickey. Soon to be replaced by the modern version of the Proto J-100. I only use it as a prybar anyway. I prefer though, how the Doohickey has an integral carabiner.
Keyring--old advertising item for a Western boot manufacturer; which I was given long ago by a family friend who managed a local farm supply store. Makes my keys pretty easy to spot. This one, unlike the yellow one from the community college I attended, is flexible, and less likely to break.
Carabiner--bought years ago. It is a cheaper carabiner, but quite strong. It has been used as makeshift rigging when dragging some trees off a fence with a UTV, and the worst thing that happened was some of the camo finish wore off. I am thinking about trying a locking climbing carabiner--but if it aint' broke, don't fix it!
I drive a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500, so no huge keyfob. Just a basic old-school ignition/lock key that I can replace cheaply. One key got lost (the spare), and it was like $4 to get a new one made at a hardware store, NOT the dealer!. The one to the 2015 Escape is $350!

I can't carry much on my key-chain (certainly not a MiniChamp) lest I lose it when I go to work (Heathrow) ::) >:(
My is an Alox Classic, but yes, I totally understand. If I were working in a restricted area, I’d ditch the knife and keep the LM.Alox Classic (my bad :-[ )
I like keeping things simple these days:
Wichard stainless snap hook
Titan titanium sail ring ( since 2006)
Lunamax titanium key shaped bottle opener/pry bar
Added a new addition that just came in the mail. :DAh ha! A Gadsen yellow !
Ah ha! A Gadsen yellow !

My everyday keychain(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210130/e9c143792323563fa2219d461600b85f.jpg):like:
Ive been carrying an advertising swag flashlight that someone gave to me. You know.... I couldn't be happier :dunno:
I haven't had a flashlight on my keys in several years. The button on my last one became wonky and I could never decide on a replacement. In the meantime, I adjusted my habits to live without one. Admittedly I used my phone's light once in a blue moon (and even then, at times that I wouldn't have my keys on me anyway)
Sometimes... it's the simple things. This little flashlight is more narrow than the ones Ive carried on my keys in the past. Besides the brightness, the form factor and near weightlessness makes me very satisfied with what I've got now.
When that gives up the ghost on you, it sounds like you'd enjoy a Photon Microlight, it's basically a high quality squeeze light like you carry now, but with an added little switch for constant on if needed. :tu:
The Photon was similar to what I had before. This freebee has 3 LEDs and a tail switch to toggle on and off like the Photon II. :like:
What the, where do you shop to get such nice freebies :ahhh
Cliche but I have keys on my keychain. :whistle:agree only keys or items that look like keys...
agree only keys or items that look like keys...I'm back to the dohicky, uncle bills tweezers and trit vial! As bad as my SAK addiction, may use the Classic.... :dunno:
Due to work barring certain items from being carried, I only have a Fenix E01 flashlight and a Sears 4-way screwdriver on my keys, which hangs from a small Wapag carabiner.yes! Can't find my Dad's Sears, Vic is too tiny?
I've tried other tools, such as the True Utility Sharkey and the Leatherman Brewer, but they didn't work out too well. I'm debating about trying the 5.11 EDT, SwissTech Slimtool, or maybe splurge on an Atwood again, if he is still around.
Cliche but I have keys on my keychain.
My latest approach to the key chain knife...Subtle. Like it :tu:
Subtle. Like it :tu:
I try to keep my keychain inconspicuous, so just a Vic Classic and a pendrive for me:
:tu:. Nice addition. I appreciate the Styles more and more. Hope it'll serve you well.
Me too. The outside opening knife and the quick release from the keys make up for some of the shortcomings.... having fewer implements than a Micra.
Cliche but I have keys on my keychain.
:salute: takes up little space and handy.
Pretty much useless
Pretty much uselessOpened plenty of bottles with mine, better opener than on most small MT’s IMO (dime has the best opener not that I carry it much), pry bar good for opening boxes, bit small for most pry jobs :iagree: and never used the wrench. Kinda like it
I keep a Streamlight Nano on my keys. You forget how small and light that dang thing is!
Pretty much useless
(https://i.imgur.com/RiWMt8w.jpg):tu: Blue!
I too have only keys on my keychain. But I carry a separate ring with important toys. I mean tools. I vary the collection to keep it fun.
Nice. I wished Toyota would've used a key/fob so we dont have to carry both. Not a huge issue just don't love having to carry both.
I'm seeing a lot of set ups with car keys. A heavy keyring hanging from an ignition lock cylinder while driving will damage both the key and the lock over time. All the bouncing up and down and swinging back and forth slowly grinds down all the teeth. The lock will get harder and harder to use, till one day the lock won't turn. If you want to avoid a very expensive repair job it would be best to have a separate ring with just the vehicle key and it's fob that can taken on and off the main set for driving. A heavy key ring is best left on your hip while you drive.
It's just a bit of advice. It's your car, your keys, your choice.
You can keep them all together and use a quick detach to separate them when it's time to drive for ease of use.
:iagree: Thats exactly how I have my vehicle key set up. :salute:

"You see, officer, that's why've hotwired the ignition. And I promise I will never leave my license and registration at home again, honest!"Hot wiring might start the engine, but it doesn't unlock the steering wheel or free up the shifter.
Yeah, you guys got it. Just remember to exercise key discipline so you don't lock yourself out.
Hot wiring might start the engine, but it doesn't unlock the steering wheel or free up the shifter.
"No, really Officer I was just running my car so I could listen to the stereo and have some air conditioning."
"You see officer I always wanted to go nowhere fast."
"Don't worry sir, I'll give you a ride."
"You will, gee thanks officer."
"Yeah I know a place where you can get three hots and a cot."
"Thanks again officer, what's it called?"
"The Crossbar Hotel."

Apart from keys of course i have a LM Micra,Peanut Lighter and a Streamlight Nano-light.
So whats on your keychain?
Very nice. That light will be right where you want when you need it.
Well I wouldn't want anyone meeting you in a dark alley by mistake :ahhh
They're cracking little torches, hope it serves you well :tu:
I guess I never updated on this subject, but my kid bought me this for my bday last month, I was previously only carrying a Nitecore Tube and that only had 45lumens but was still a good light, but come on, this guys cool! The funny thing was after I showed the kid how it worked he was like totally amazed and was like “so dad, I was wondering if I could have your old one”? So I was like sure I only need one keychain, so I charged both of them up ready to go and when he woke up the next day I handed it off and said here you go, so he was excited then asks, “so dad, what type of batteries does this take”? I was like dude you just plug it in and recharge it, his face lit up SERIOUSLY? That kid snatched it from my hands with the biggest smile, the funny part was he said he just might have to get one of the other ones too,,
JR
Very cool :tu: I am amazed at today's flash light technology. Not too long ago had to strap on an external bulky, heavy batter pack to get some decent light.
For everyone that's put down a DoohicKey tool, a short story.
This past weekend, my daughter asked if I wanted to go to an air show at a nearby Air Force Base. Of course, yeah. When we got there I was told; no knives and the like. So my multitool, SAK, anything with a blade had to stay in the truck.
Well, wouldn't you know that a screw came loose on the wheel of my wheelchair.
After a little bit of thinking I remembered that I keep a DoohicKey Plus on my keyring.
Couple minutes later I was rolling along purdy as ever.

Just removed three keys from my keyring. None of which I have used in years. Only two of them I can actually remember what they are for, the third one is a mystery.

Oh wait! Yes! The Bug is cheaper than gas!! Guess I was looking at the wrong one. But I still want a SAK on the keys.
Joke (not)
I got my bank loan approved today!! Yes! Now I can by gas for the car.....
Well done

So glad to put the (current) "full" tool ring back on today, after going to a concert last night (W.A.S.P. supported by South of Salem – amazing!) and having to leave it all at home
:like: everything pictured.
I recall a member was making something similar. I cannot recall what they are called :dunno:.YES, but who idk, or what there were called, I guess I can go through all like 60 pages of this link and maybe it’s on here?
Thanks JR, that sounds really good :cheers:Here’s the two diff ones, so they will kinda go like this,,
Here’s the two diff ones, so they will kinda go like this,,Cool those gate locks are a really good idea as is the spinning ring on the carabiner, should make it much easier on your pocket
JR
Cool those gate locks are a really good idea as is the spinning ring on the carabiner, should make it much easier on your pocketYou think? I mean I used to clip to a belt loop before I made my leather key holder that I’ve been using, I wanted the auto lock cause I never had one and since I was going back to carabiners why not? Then I saw that one with the D-ring and said perfect, it will give me something to attach the clips to instead of a swivel to turn the way the keys would line up and not out from the hip and making it even longer, cause that’s why I stopped in the first place cause the entire keyring was so long and when I walked it bounced front to back and having to hear and feel that with as much walking as I do it kinda makes you nutty, so I’m hoping it won’t be as long nor annoying..
Go for the locking biners. They are great. I still have a few of the plastic ones that came with the set up I showed. Not to keen on it since I had a few issues with items coming free. That’s why I went with the G-biner, so whatever you put on yeah goes through the first gate but then also goes through a second gate to not fully lock but keep whatever down on the bottom keeping the upper biner easy to open and use, I think they have one of the G-biners with one of those slide locks on the upper gate but I think the size was a little too big,,
Good luck on the set up.
:like: That looks awesome. Some time I’ll get to loading it, the only thing I’m not liking is that the G-biners don’t have a large opening gate, so taking it off that D-ring isn’t easy, but it’s still doable, but unlocking the main carabiner is easy, so taking it off a belt loop will be easy, when time comes to where you only want one specific tool like the flashlight then it’s going to be a, ok wait let me get it, then good to go..
:like: that’s worked really well JR, duct tape is a good idea, hard to tell how you do that, is it wrapped around something? Thanks, I think it really worked out, I had to put split rings on the two(tag/sak & store card/4way) this way they hung narrow vs wide and hitting both sides,, the keys still do but nothing bad,
Very clever, thanks :tu: :hatsoff:Thanks, glad I could help, have fun making one, :tu:
Looks good. How does it carry? I also didn't recall you having a Rovyvon light :tu:.Must say carries pretty nice! As for the light it’s a Nitecore Tiki GITD Light, 300 Lumen! I originally had a Nitecore Tube, but there only 55 lumen, so I wanted the upgrade, so like over a year ago I got it, I gave the Tube to the kid to go with his keys and he was loving it, on/off throughout the house, then he was like “dad, what kind of batteries does this take I think I need to replace them” :dunno: I was like  buddy, all you have to do is open the little rubber flap on the side and plug it in to recharge it,, so he was like “oh no way, that’s cool” :tu: lol..
:like: I have pants like that so I know what you mean, the loop is either too far to the back or too close to the frontExactly!
Got the Tiki today. Clip and split ring not arthritis friendly. Cheap plastic? But it is Bright!NO, that split ring isn’t friendly, that’s why it’s on one of the G-biners, I didn’t think it was cheap, it seamed pretty good, I must say it’s come in handy!
Will have to test, maybe for the nightstand?
No pipe on the clone. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'm a cigar guy these days anyway.
The other functions seem to be fairly good compared to similar tools.
I'm pleased.
A triangle file would also work. Looks like you might like a pocket wrench. They have mm and inch. 2 inch total marked off in 1/16th increments. Pretty handy.Well, if our order ever gets here, one thing I did have her sneak this in,, a doohickey, it’s not a pocket wrench as much as I would have liked to find one but you just can’t find them, but on the keychain I have a alox sak, so I have some tools, but not a pry bar, ruler, or wrench, and well, it kinda has most of the tools, plus I liked the carabiner, fig it would make it easy to get on/off the keychain,, so yeah I’ll have a ruler in both metric and standard, but I still made that imitation inchworm, I know I have a 5” flat bar somewhere that doesn’t get used, I know where the one that does but the one that doesn’t get used I could cut in half cutting the 90° off, rounding the end off and drilling a hole for the keychain, but oh well,,
You know I'm going to the site and check it out! :facepalm:Sorry,, :-\
Just got this new toy,,

Everything but keys :whistle:I’m not a medical professional, but the last first aid training I had (earlier this year) taught the chest compression only method of CPR, i.e. no rescue breaths.

I’m not a medical professional, but the last first aid training I had (earlier this year) taught the chest compression only method of CPR, i.e. no rescue breaths.Interesting, I have some US friends who have said the same thing. However, our health officials recommend 30:2 (unless in case of drowning where we start with 5 rescue breaths). The CPR mask on my keychain are just for off duty carry though, normally we use an ambu bag for ventilation. I am not sure why some countries recommend copressions only, I wonder if it is to reduce the number of people who are hesitant because of the mouth part. The most important thing is that you do something, so compressions alone does for sure increase survivability. Admittedly, I have done compressions only several times while waiting for the bag and tube.

Keys & LM Style CS (can't carry the LM when at work ::))That carabiner sure is convenient then :like:

This is my “posh” set up for going out 8)Full credit for turning me on to the TEC Python clips.
Blank Industries carabiner, TEC python & QR clips and tritium vial, RovyVon, SAK Manager, mini lighter
I’ve got a more everyday one which is pretty similar and hangs in my front pocket using a TEC P7, with Nitecore Tiki and SAK Rambler
Over the years I’ve tried many (many!) set ups using OPT’s and keychain tools and lights of all descriptions but eventually found this perfect for my needs

I had been looking for a means to attach items to my keychain such that they could quickly and easily be detached and re-attached, while being light, not too bulky, and reasonably reliable and secure. I’ve had some on my keychain for at least a month now, and they seem to be just the thing.
My one complaint is that I wish they had managed to make the fixed hole a bit larger, as it is too small to accommodate some larger size split rings.
Shopping trolley token/shimmy, Olight, Mini Champ, home keys. Car key. Biner for carrying both in belt loop. Farmer X in pocket dangler.Isn't that shop trolley token supposed to be used by the other end? Or does it like this just release the trolley without getting caught inside the slot?
Like the Uncle Bill's Sliver Grippers! :tu:
Hello guys,I've gotta say I really like those minivice grips. Smallest ones that I have are around 4 inches. I do have a mini adjustable wrench though that I keep on my EDC ring.
Saw this last week at the hardware store, and it gave me an idea. This is my latest addition to my keychain:

here is size comparison with keys and 91mm SAK:

Not very heavy in the pocket. I'll go with it a few weeks on my keys to see id it's a keeper or I'll send it to the tool chest. It's nifty how it hangs on the keyring by itself, like this, with it's jaws closed :D.
Well, my EDC set hasn't changed in quite awhile now but I'm working on a different setup. Went into the local big box home improvement store, yesterday, and came out with this Nite ize Bigfoot key rack.Nice! I had my eye on one of those Bigfoot setups for idk how long, I so wanted a new keychain setups for ages, and I liked how the Bigfoot spread everything out (let alone the foot) I thought about getting one of those “ufo” rings and using a nice carabiner, I wanted something with strength, so I came up with setup and love it, it could use a few tweaks but it works,,
(I'm a sucker for something like this.)
Gotta play around with it some to get the layout that I want. May replace the locking S biners with a set of the No. 1 G series, I don't know yet.
I try to keep mine somewhat simple. Key Fob, Flashlight, mini multi tool, pry bar, air tag and my keychain holder which has a razor and small screwdriver set.
That keychain holder looks pretty cool.
 :tu:
Actually, the GITD Classic has the tools and provides glow if I do something dumb... :tu:
So... GITD = Glow If Too Dumb?

:D :D :D :D
