Hi all,

Stopped lurking and came to say hi! I'm on EDCF lots but came to get in depth info for a new purchase.

LM wave/charge... darn, can't decide  ???

Do you want scissors in your tool? If not, then you should go for a Charge ALX or XTi. If you do, then you can go with the Wave, Charge: Ti, AL, and TTi..If you want a significantly lower cost, I would go with the Wave.. But, from a general standpoint; the Charge TTi is what I would go with.. It has scissors, a cutting hook on the serrated blade, crimpers, and titanium handles.. I hope this helps..

Wow, you chaps are rather enthusiastic 'aint ya?!

I can handle the banter - no worries there.

To answer your questions. I intend to use it for EDC, for general bullying of stuff into submission. I currently carry a SOG paratool with a load of bits, so looking to replace that as I find it a little awkward and clunky even though I think it's a clever design.

I have considered a few others but it came down to the wave or charge due to tool compliment and size/weight. I think I'm leaning toward the charge at this point, perhaps the ALX as it seems to go for a good price and I always carry a Micra so don't need scissors. I would prefer the TTi but they don't seem to be cheap to pick up!

Actually, there's really not that much pure Latin or Greek left in the English language. It's about 1/3 old Germanic in origin, and all manner of influences from various invading forces including French (especially ridiculous spellings), Danish etc. Modern English is a widely different variant of the ancient Anglo-Saxon upon it was mostly based, and still includes rarely used and extinct dialects from older Celtic origins. We also now have a wonderful multi-cultural influence which has brought common place words from Hebrew/Yiddish, Urdu, Punjabi to name a few to our collective language. We also have adopted (and continue to) many words and spellings from American-English... that seems to work both ways happily. You lovely Americans wouldn't know what a w*nker was without us eh?  :D

In case you hasn't noticed, I like this subject. I find the continual evolution of Creole variants of English, really fascinating - something which is speeding up exponentially due to the cyber highway etc. Eventually, a global English might evolve which has enough commonality for everyone to at least partly understand. Bill Bryson's Mother Tongue is a great jumping off point for anyone who want sot know more.

Actually I have travelled quite extensively in the US, and lived in NYC and the midwest for a while. I like it there a lot and I would have the biggest gun down my pants (US definition boys, at ease), if I was allowed. I love shooting, found it to be very cathartic.

Yes, I like tools a lot... actually qualified as a carpenter many moons ago and have plenty of scars to prove it. That was before a long career in music followed by a medical science degree. I have been called a renaissance girl plenty of times, but mostly I just like being a Jack (or Jill) of all trades.

Nah.....I just don't like that whole "ettes" thing, because conjugation - The negative verb has no infinitive form. The negative verb is the same with indicative, conditional and potential mood and, with those moods, it is conjugated only in person.

That just seems too restrictive for me so I go with "esses" instead  ;) :D

Wasn't a particularly challenging kill, but I did injure my foot while pursuing it, so I'm off to the docs in a mo ::)

I'm supposed to take it easy for a few days, and keep my foot elevated. plus I get the pleasure of having a lot of x-rays tommorow too ::)
