Title: Air Show
Post by: Chako on June 11, 2009, 04:05:55 AM: I went to a small local air show tonight. It was great fun. Here are a few pictures I took when I was there.

It was enjoyable. At least the weather cooperated, oh and the black flies enjoyed their feast.

Hornet's are fine, I just don't much like modern-ish aircraft :)

I remember when I used to go to air shows in the UK, but I've not seen one for ages. I'll have to start looking for them (it can't be hard).

Well there usually bloody good pilot's to start off with (there normally instructors :))

Very clever they are too! I've flown a sesner (sp?) breilfy when someone let me erm... steer?!
I'd love to be able to do it properly, it's an amazing feeling :D

Post by: Chako on June 13, 2009, 12:35:27 AM: Yeah, the snowbirds are Canada's National Aerobatic team. They are all from the best of the best that Canada's air force has to offer. They do put on a great show.

The planes they fly are very old. They started using them back in 71, and stopped training with them back in 00. They are thinking about replacing the planes…but it is the planes that give them their iconic image to Canadians.
