I'm with you Marc, but I get the sense that Pabs is determined to change his name. So, for convenience sake, I voted for 'Pabs'. Part of his motivation in a name change is to have a name that people will actually spell out. To my way of thinking, 'Pabs' is already in common use when referring to Mr O'Brien, and would suit Pabs' needs. So, while I wouldn't change it if given the choice, I went with 'Pabs.'
At least he isn't going with a symbol like.....
