Although I have a first aid kit for longer hikes and bike rides,I'm looking at the idea of a smaller, lighter kit to chuck into,or clip onto my tactical man bag.
I'm looking at something the size of an Altoids tin. Any ideas or input? Any photos of your own one?

This is a good one with some room to add extras. I got this one off of eBay.
-
I'll make some pics and add them...

Oh wait...first aid.
Disregard that link...it is for survival kits. My bad. :-[

Here is a small first aid kit that I do have...bought it somewhere with the thought that It would fit on my motorcycle. I included a set of gloves to round it out. The pen is just for size comparison.

Contents are:
5 large band-aids
5 small band-aids
6 alcohol wipes
1 small roll of medical tape
1 small bundle of gauze
2 5 cm x 5 cm pads.
1 set of vinyl gloves
Come to think of it, a small Vic Classic would round out this kit nicely.

Here's what I started off with, pretty much the same as Chako's, I got it from walmart for only like $2, but I added scissors, tweezers, qtips, and gloves. It's just a tad bit bigger then the altoids.. JR

Later on I kinda went a diff route, a little bigger, I put a little pack with patch on the side, this way anyone can see and figure that there's a first aid kit available just in case,,

can't have to many links about survival kits Chako old boy :hatsoff:
first step with getting together a *first aid kit* has to be to assess what kind of injuries you are 'likely' to encounter and your skill set.(no point in having something to deal with a snake bite in London, or a way of doing open heart surgery if you're not qualified )
painkillers are always good to have and the odd plaster/band aid. ladies feminine products are multipurpose (dressings or firelighting etc) and might help out a damsel in distress ::)
I always have 'anti acid' or indigestion relief tabs with me, because I use them a lot and have given them out to others in the past.
a stick of chewing gum or 'tic-tacs' or a boiled sweet, can be handy to take away foul tastes. I'm thinking of swapping them out for 'lockets' as they will also aid a sore throat
anti-histamine/hayfever meds ?

FOOTCARE !
something to help blisters, you're smurfed if you can't walk ! I once went on a long dog walk in 'new' boots (just to break them in ) and that ended badly, thought it was going to end in a survival situation at one point

As promised

So this is what I came up with... Not FAK but combo... Urban carry for what I think I need... I have only one Altoid tin, so combo is how I go now. I'll be getting some Altoids soon I hope so I'll be doing some kits for kids and other idea that I have...
Top to bottom and left to right:
- Toothpick
- seasons (pepper, salt, origano...) - no meal is good w/o seasoning... Salt is also good in survival situations for extended sweating and loosing salt from organism and for creating good electricity conducting solvent
- Sugar - for quick energy boost and hypo glycemic situations
- Duck tape rolled on old credit card
- peace of copper wire
- small silicon rubber bands
- paper clips - McGuyver style
- Bike tire rubber
- Three bandaids
- Curved needle and fishing thread (not exactly kevlar but extremely durable and strong)
- Some medicaments (fever, probiotic, pain...)
- Alcohol swab
- Oval blisters patch (as Taxi Dad said it is important to walk)
- Sewing kit w/needle, thread, buttons and small safety pins (two in pack plus one far right)
- Fine cotton small cleaning cloth
- SAK Manager w/pen in scales
- VIC nailclipper
- Tweezer
- Tin
I always have on me knife, multi tool and light. So ATM no need to have spare inside.
-
If you are going with the altoid tin, then old charity bands are great for holding the tin closed.
-
I tend to get a lot of splinters so a needle/pin or tweezers + mag glass is pretty handy (one reason I love a swisschamp ;) ) but the first two items are "tiny" (if you use the SAK tweezers) so I have spares in my 'tin'
and a mirror is invaluable, even a small one, for eye or face injuries. I don't foresee having to use one for signalling in a 'survival situation', not in the UK  but I've even used one to see behind kitchen cupboards etc. so worth a thought ?
-
So, here is mine. This kit would have covered all the 1st aid needs I had in my life so far with the exception of one (Ligament sprain, that primarily requires a support dressing easily done with a pair of cut pants (thats what we used anyhow)).
