Hello
For the 30 day ST challenge currently underway I have been using a camo belt pouch I found in the stash of pouches and boxes.
On Friday I night I had a bit more of a formal do and had to get into my bit more flash gear so I changed from the usual jeans and coloured belt to black pants and black belt.
Should you really change the pouch as well or does camo work any time ? You cannot go with out the LM unless there is an airplane involved.
So the question to all you smart dressed out there does the pouch need to be changed as well ?
Thanks

Yes, go all black, no doubt about it. :like:

Black Leather :pok:

Usually for dressy situation I prefer not to use belt sheath and will take something lighter that can fit in the pocket. Preferably with a deep carry clip. Is there such a sheath that can be strapped on to the ankle? Stuffed into the sock or some sort? Think that is pretty sweet.

Interesting thought, that ankle sheath setup. In fact that would probably work OK with the Molle pouch - you'd just need a couple of ankle straps.
Not an option for summer attire though...

There's a different dressy code for summer? :D

Gimme a second, I'll ask my wife...
Edit: Colours should match was the answer :dunno:

Camo sheath should work as long as you've got camo boots on with the black pants and belt.

No Batman belt arrays with formal attire. I go for a Sideclip in an inside jacket pocket, or if more formal still, a keyring size tool in the waistcoat pocket.

I typically carry a Skeletool CX. I picked up a damasteel one when they were closing them out. It works well with dress pants. Otherwise, I’d use a black leather sheath or a black nylon sheath with the Leatherman logo removed.

Mission decides the gear. Or ask Q. :D

That's the one thing with the ST300; unlike the Surge or Wave, you can't use a pocket clip; unless you've jerry-rigged one onto it. It depends on your pants. I could easily carry my ST300 in the third, big zippered front pocket on the right side of my Columbia hiking pants that I wear instead of dress pants. I typically use that pocket for carrying MTs and other EDC gear.
Or better yet, if you have something like a laptop bag with you, put the ST300 in there. Or use a nice leather sheath.

For formal dress code with a naked LMN you can't go wrong. Ideally to have a pocket clip

If a sheath is required by the user/carrier, then black on black is the way to go.

Personally, I still think its weird to sheath carry a tool when in formal wear. But someone would definitely impress me if he whip out a Sideclip out of nowhere.

I actually got the Leatherman Flair specifically to address this question! I feel like the black leather and gold writing of the sheath would be at least acceptable even if a little out of place. But I would probably opt for pocket carry anyway. Either way I know the Flair its self won't be out of place... But the SideClip would seem to be a great option as well.
