Nothing like hard core porn to brighten your day ;)
That looks gorgeous :)

Is that a cordura pouch ???
-
Nice Bob, :o Tim's shipping is fast. I think he told us that he had them in stock just the other day. Does the BO finish leave you fingers black like the LM BO tools?
-

'Tis indeed. I'd prefer leather, but this one is pretty well made. Form fitted, not like the pancake style that the other guys use.

Yes it does. I spent a bit of time wiping it down first, so my white background in the photo wouldn't get smudged.

I've gotten used to the spatula shape blade on my regular Spirit, so the pointy one on the S model isn't that big of deal to me. But I never did care for the serrations on the old one. In that respect, the plain edge S blade is much better.

I keep toying with the idea of converting my spirit into a straight edge :-\
Its the only down side to the spirit if you ask me :(

That does look damn nice! Definitely on my to get list....i need a job!

Yep, they are really sweet. They have been a big hit and have been selling out fast.
-
Hopefully some owners of the stainless version will put them out for sale so they can fund a new black oxide version ;D
The black does look awesome though.
-
Out of curiousity, are the Phillips drivers, less "slippy" on the black oxide tools than the normal stainless models?

I agree that the oxide version looks fantastic the only thing that puts me off is how the heck would I find it when I drop it in the dark(clumsy ape)the shiny ones are much easier
Seriously now what is the rust resistance like without the shiny coating ?
-
It's still got the "shiny coating" underneath. Looks like Vic still does their usual fabulous job of polishing the stainless before applying the black oxide. I'm sure that is what gives it the deep black look.

A very nice tool indeed.
Anyone have any idea why Victorinox does not offer their tools with scissors in Black Oxide finish?

Would'nt the scissors wear away the finish faster ???

Do you think you will have the standard spirit with scissors on black oxide finish?
Or it will be like the Swisstool x that never came in black oxide?
Do you have in stock and price?
-
Really nice tool. Perhaps I will get one soon. Now all they need is a pocket clip and an OH blade and you have the "NINJA KILLING MULTITOOL OF THE CENTURY."

AFAIK the "S" will be the only black one in the lineup. Here they are: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110174244952 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110174244952)

I'm not sure, I haven't noticed any abnormal wear on the scissors in my BO Blast and Charge.

Hmm, I don't know why then, maybe it's a more difficut process or that the other bladed models sell more ???
