I had to change the battery of my Croton CA301048SSRD 30ATM Divers Watch (Had it for less than a year, new, but I have no idea how long the battery has been in the watch) and decided to take some pictures of the insides and the movement of the watch.
The screwback came off smoothly.
No problems.
The gasket was thick and it was nicely in its place.
The movement is smaller than the actual watch and is held in place by a plastic spacer.
The inside of the watch was clean - no surprises (incidentally, I may have worn this watch for a total of a few hours, so it is as new)
Now, Croton say that the use Miyota movement and some on the internet have made claims that this was not true etc. (the usual lot that claim anything they like about a product that they have never even handled)
So, Croton tells the truth, and as they say on the watch face, they use a Japanese Miyota (Citizen) 2315 movement, with a tiny AG1 battery. A good, workhorse, quartz movement.
The thick screwback back states that it is assembled in China, something that is known.
I replaced the battery, lubricated the gasket and put it back together.
