Title: Recommend me a torch
Post by: kirk13 on February 16, 2015, 02:01:18 AM
I think it's time to investigate a torch upgrade.

I've been using a LED Lenser P7 on the night time Airgun shoots at my club. It's done ok,but I think I need some more lumins,as,if there's another brighter light sorce around,it serious limits what I get to see.

So here's my spec list:
Price should be cheapish, say up to £40
Must be able to focus the beam
Diameter of the body must not exceed 30mm

Any ideas?

there really aren't many/any focussable torches from the main brands.

What batteries do you already have?

I've got an Eagletac T200C2 which is bright and pretty throwy but it's £10 over budget. I like it because it's basic and bright.

I was trying it out lastnight...I called my flatmate to see how bright it is. He put his Fenix E01 on for comparison  :D

Hey, the E01 is an excellent light, just maybe not quite as bright as you're looking for. ;)

I'd not come across the SRT6 particularly, but it looks excellent.  Mind if I ask how you are mounting it to your rifle?

I've got two options Gareth. I've a bracket that straps over the scope with Velcro that I've been using up to this point, but I fitted a short Picatinny rail to the new stock on the Ultra. The torch needed to be the particular diameter to fit a 30mm scope mount, which in turn will mount on the rail

Them people chasing Frankenstein in the movie had some sweet torches, I bet you could get one from them for a song.

Surefire G2 series of lights are not to expensive and have nice throw. How far are the shots you take?
