That is a Gerber Multiplier 600 or MP600 for short.  They are still in production and are one of the longest running and successful (arguably the most successful) multitool design.

There are many variations of it, but it was originally released in 1998.  I could pretend I'm all smart and stuff and tell you all kinds of things about it, but it's easier to post THIS LINK (http://wiki.multitool.org/tiki-index.php?page=Multi-Plier+600) to the Multitool Encyclopedia.

Finding an exact year for it will be a bit difficult though.  Gerber made so many of these, particularly for military contracts that there are literally tens of millions (my guess) of them out there.

If you have no value for it there are always buyers. :) This is mostly regarded the best model Gerber ever made and takes much more beating than it feels.

If you scroll down to the bottom of the Main Index here you will see our Trade Forums that you can sell on.  Additionally eBay is always a popular choice.  There really aren't any other dedicated multitool forums, but if you think it would be worth it, you could also try Knifeforums, Bladeforums or EDCForums, but I doubt you'd be any further ahead there than here.

That's an interesting one, I don't think I've seen this particular variant before! The awl combined with regular needlenose pliers would usually indicate this is a Scout, except there arent any scissors on yours! It is certainly very odd.

I'm sure there are plenty of users here who would be interested in getting a hold of that awl (as it is quite the rare implement), myself included!
