Title: Why does this read SWISS MADE as opposed to SWITZERLAND?
Post by: 3F on April 11, 2015, 12:06:31 AM
Scored this rascal in a lot purchase from the bay.....just read the tang and it reads:
SWISS MADE

Does this indicate a certain time frame for this tang stamp?

Thanks in advance!

Victorinox changed to the "Swiss Made" tang stamp around 2006. This one is probably from 2010/2011 based on the size of the letters.

I'm probably wrong but I'm sure there was something about watches that to qualify for Swiss Made they had to 100% produced in Switzerland, the change to Switzerland happened because parts are made outside Switzerland.
