Title: Dolly's World Tour - Can you host?
Post by: magentus on August 01, 2016, 03:17:24 PM
I have some sad news. R2 and Dolly have parted company. They were too dangerous for each other and R2 has had enough.
(https://c3.staticflickr.com/9/8730/28591031282_b72b95e151_k.jpg) (https://flic.kr/p/Kyuvvd)WP_20160801_003 (https://flic.kr/p/Kyuvvd) by magpie2112 (https://www.flickr.com/photos/145157638@N06/), on Flickr

Dolly is now homeless and says she will wander the globe mooching living off the kindness of strangers, much like Blanche DuBois. To this end I am suggesting a Dolly passaround. PM me if you want to host her and I will send her your way. Take a pic or 2 when she arrives and then pass her on to the next person (Don't worry -she'll soon outstay her welcome).

Who could resist this face?

I will post anywhere in the world so pop your name on the list.

I'd be happy to host her.  It's only a trip across country though.  I have a couple of spare geocaching travel tags, so one could travel with her so you can track her progress around the world.

ok, is she zig zaging around the world in a reckless manner or is she following a more structured tour ? so, is she heading to the states, then canada, then back to ibach as per the list or is she going to cut down her environmental footprint is what i'm attempting to ask ?

Kev, how do the geotags work ?

Kev, how do the geotags work ?

I've created an account for Dolly on the geocaching website. I register a travel bug for her on there, and as she travels we just log the location it visits on geocaching.com website. As we log the locations it plots a map on the travel bug page.
Easiest way for everyone to see it is post the link in the first post, and seeing as Magentus is a mod I'm assuming he can edit the first post.

Eamo - as you know she is famous for her recklessness - she cares naught for climate change (one of the many many reasons for her breakup with R2). I have no idea how she will wend her way around the globe. I have even less idea if there will even be a globe after she's finished her mission.

After settling in for the weekend, Dolly decided to come to work with me this morning. She was a little nervous so brought a blade with her just in case

She got a bit emotional when she thought she spotted R2

After settling in for the weekend, Dolly decided to come to work with me this morning. She was a little nervous so brought a blade with her just in case

She got a bit emotional when she thought she spotted R2

Love the pics! Looks like Dolly will have a fine time with your minions. I would remove her blade from her though.......

I'm not saying R2 has moved on quickly, or has a type, but he has moved on quickly and has a type. Meet Jennifer:

Due to unforeseen circumstances I haven't been the host I wanted to be, so I'll be sending Dolly on her travels this weekend.

She arrived with a few MT.o branded items with her so they will be travelling with her. I won an MT.o branded torch in a gaw so it's only fair others benefit from them.  I'm keeping the blade though, Dolly is dangerous enough without carrying a Vic Traveller. Plus it's really nice and I didn't have one.

Thank you for your generosity magentus  :salute:.

PM incoming to the next host on the lit,  which is Eamo in Ireland

Happy travels Dolly  :tu:

Dolly had her final afternoon in Ssmurfhorpe in the park...

She had a lovely time in the sun enjoying the flowers

After a stroll around the park Millie was all worn out and needed a rest. Knowing she's unwell Dolly made sure she was ok

Mags, any last words of advice ?
Keep her away from knives, guns, artillery, gardening implements, vehicles, flammable fuel, lighters, matches, toothpicks, kitchen implements, blunt instruments, medication, alcohol and drugs - don't let her watch any violent tv shows or films, or stay up past 8.30pm, don't leave her unsupervised at any time and don't give her any money. Never turn your back on her and don't believe a word she says.

Best of luck.

Um . . . . are my children safe while I am at work ? More importantly, are my dogs safe ?

I was going to take her sea kayaking which involves, well, kayaks, the sea, knives and vehicles - a) is this a good idea ? b) is she insured in case she gets swept overboard ?

Regarding the other pieces of equipment, I do not possess firearms of any kind, I do have a small selection of disparate tools  which would include knives, MT's, axes, gardening tools, various flamable liquids and solids; alcohol is not something i keep much of in the house, but, out of curiosity, whats her favourite tipple ?

Regarding the rest, tbh, i don't have much money to give her, i think the dog crate would be the safest place for everyone when we need our non dolly time, and i doubt she'd lie to me surely ?

Bon Voyage Dolly.

Kevin, Dolly's new companion looks a lot like a security guard. Care to elaborate?  :pok:

Eamo - Dolly's favourite tipple is kerosene, but that's also her favourite combustible liquid, so I suggest sticking to orange squash or similar for the duration. Your children and more importantly dogs should be safe provided you follow my recommendations. A 'Safe Crate' is a wise precaution, though I urge you to remember the bit in Jaws when they're in the shark cage believing this will protect them from Jaws.

Also, don't try and set up any kind of 'safety word' system with Dolly.

For safety reasons we used to remove her legs and arms before bed, and store them in the freezer until morning. Then at least you'll have some assurance she will be where you left her the night before.

Bon Chance Eamo! Courage Mon Brave!

And where would we be without the Fresh Prince?  He's from Philadelphia, born and raised.  In fact, on the playground is where he'd spent most of his days, just chilling out maxing, relaxing all cool just shooting some b- ball outside of the school.

I've left it up to him, that way I have plausible deniability  :D

but if all else fails, throw the radio to distract her, and run like his life depended on it, because it probably will.

Dolly has safely touched down - she has already terrorised a family of sylvanians . . . . pics will follow, it was documented . . . . . .
She's hit the ground running then

How many more innocent Sylvanians will perish before she is stopped?

Have you ever thought how much more fun it'd be if there were TranSylvanian Families?

Firstly, apolagies for the delay in updating you all on Dollys visit, and for the poor quality pics - i haven't had time to dig out a decent camera, plus, she moves so fast anyway, it's a case more of stopping her then taking pics ! ! !

Anyway, heres an update -

Dolly been released from her travel capsule by my daughter and her leatherman leap -
(http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p639/eamonf/20160819_202820_zpsoslusy1w.jpg) (http://s1159.photobucket.com/user/eamonf/media/20160819_202820_zpsoslusy1w.jpg.html)

Dolly greeting us with some bemusement -

(http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p639/eamonf/20160819_202940_zps7nlak9ix.jpg) (http://s1159.photobucket.com/user/eamonf/media/20160819_202940_zps7nlak9ix.jpg.html)

Barely released from her capsule and already sizing up the sharps

(http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p639/eamonf/20160819_202913_zpsqwciozn2.jpg) (http://s1159.photobucket.com/user/eamonf/media/20160819_202913_zpsqwciozn2.jpg.html)

Quickly, victims were found to be terrorised  :ahhh  :ahhh  :ahhh

(http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p639/eamonf/20160819_203125_zps23wzhgum.jpg) (http://s1159.photobucket.com/user/eamonf/media/20160819_203125_zps23wzhgum.jpg.html)

(http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p639/eamonf/20160819_203146_zps4ulewubx.jpg) (http://s1159.photobucket.com/user/eamonf/media/20160819_203146_zps4ulewubx.jpg.html)

After the situation was calmed down, the leap removed from her, she has started to settle into her new digs. Happy to say theres been no further incidents, so far anyway. She has gone on to make some friends, she met Bruno

(http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p639/eamonf/20160819_205253_zpstnudsdqr.jpg) (http://s1159.photobucket.com/user/eamonf/media/20160819_205253_zpstnudsdqr.jpg.html)

And she has adopted Kat, a meercat who has lived by my computer for a few years. They have quickly become fast friends which may explain Dollys seemingly newfound calm and serenity . . . . unless she is lulling us into a false sense of security    :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh

(http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p639/eamonf/20160819_205345_zpsf8han5jl.jpg) (http://s1159.photobucket.com/user/eamonf/media/20160819_205345_zpsf8han5jl.jpg.html)

Weather is pretty smurf today, so Dolly is chilling with Kat and Security Stan, who done sweet FA during the sylvanian incident, by the way. Seriously, I did not need the hassle of more deceased sylvanians ! ! ! !

(http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p639/eamonf/20160821_110940_zpscytfwkfk.jpg) (http://s1159.photobucket.com/user/eamonf/media/20160821_110940_zpscytfwkfk.jpg.html)

We have plans for her to meet Rex and go for a trip in his RIB. I have canned the idea of taking her sea kayaking, Mags didn't confirm the insurance situation and in this day and age i can't take the chance.

she does have some parting words for Mags however -

Thats all for now, we'll update with her adventures during the week as life and work allow  :2tu:

she's only been here a few days, and perhaps Kat has a calming influence, but since the initial incident she's been grand. It is likely that Kat with be joining her on her adventures, if i can get the pet passport and shots sorted.

John, let's not go there . . . . the horrors of christmas day 2010 live on . . . . (or not, in the case of a particular set of sylvanian parents)

Sending an animal with Dolly would not be a good idea. The travel gives her time to train it into an attack animal, and she's dangerous enough as it is

Glad to hear Dolly has settled and even made a friend!

I think you'll probably be alright as far as the death toll goes  -she isn't clever enough to plan a long game - no impulse control. If she's happy just work on keeping her that way.

No Kat is the most harmless creature you could ever meet. Dolly has been so relaxed and chilled out since adopting her its hard to believe she's the same creature you and mags describe.
It would be cruel to part them now.

Post by: eamo on September 04, 2016, 09:28:10 PM
ok, right, so, where will i start ? I suppose, like all sagas we'll start at the beginning .

Life has gotten very busy lately for me - new job, long days, etc. (New job is absolutely fantastic btw), just means that my promise to Dolly was delayed. So, as you may recall, I had promised Dolly a meeting with Rex and a trip in his RIB, and, today was the day. Weather was good, calm conditions, not too much water in the stream. Pretty much ideal conditions.

So, meeting with Rex was going ok, until he mistook security stan for a tasty morsel. Fortunately, disaster was averted, and Stan was rescued.

(http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p639/eamonf/20160904_151412_zpsr9sowpan.jpg) (http://s1159.photobucket.com/user/eamonf/media/20160904_151412_zpsr9sowpan.jpg.html)

After that, Rex took the motley crew through boat procedures for a bit

(http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p639/eamonf/20160904_151559_zpshnioddgu.jpg) (http://s1159.photobucket.com/user/eamonf/media/20160904_151559_zpshnioddgu.jpg.html)

Getting familiar with the boat -

(http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p639/eamonf/20160904_151550_zpsg0nv8kb6.jpg) (http://s1159.photobucket.com/user/eamonf/media/20160904_151550_zpsg0nv8kb6.jpg.html)

Dolly insisted on taking the helm, rather than Stan . . . somehow, i knew this was a bad idea, but i didn't listen to my gut.

(http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p639/eamonf/20160904_151427_zpsckbbnaqi.jpg) (http://s1159.photobucket.com/user/eamonf/media/20160904_151427_zpsckbbnaqi.jpg.html)

(http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p639/eamonf/20160904_151448_zpsd8x9ros7.jpg) (http://s1159.photobucket.com/user/eamonf/media/20160904_151448_zpsd8x9ros7.jpg.html)

All this supervised by the puppies -

(http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p639/eamonf/20160904_151516_zpshdqhpcdp.jpg) (http://s1159.photobucket.com/user/eamonf/media/20160904_151516_zpshdqhpcdp.jpg.html)

(http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p639/eamonf/20160904_151507_zpsqoycalxi.jpg) (http://s1159.photobucket.com/user/eamonf/media/20160904_151507_zpsqoycalxi.jpg.html)

So, after their orientation and safety program the crew were set to sail on moving water.

Initially, Dolly seemed to be doing ok -

(http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p639/eamonf/20160904_152803_zpssbpcsekt.jpg) (http://s1159.photobucket.com/user/eamonf/media/20160904_152803_zpssbpcsekt.jpg.html)

taking it easy, close to shore

(http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p639/eamonf/20160904_152745_zpsxl7xgegr.jpg) (http://s1159.photobucket.com/user/eamonf/media/20160904_152745_zpsxl7xgegr.jpg.html)

then, before she could be stopped she headed out into open water

(http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p639/eamonf/20160904_152903_zpsfz9dfwwx.jpg) (http://s1159.photobucket.com/user/eamonf/media/20160904_152903_zpsfz9dfwwx.jpg.html)

she attempted some rapids

(http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p639/eamonf/20160904_152823_zpsgixglwcg.jpg) (http://s1159.photobucket.com/user/eamonf/media/20160904_152823_zpsgixglwcg.jpg.html)

and disaster struck

(http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p639/eamonf/20160904_152909_zpsno569pvm.jpg) (http://s1159.photobucket.com/user/eamonf/media/20160904_152909_zpsno569pvm.jpg.html)

there are no more pics after that, as my daughter and i swung into rescue mode. Stan and Kat were swiftly rescued, but of Dolly there was no sign. We searched for near two hours, which included my daughter trying her swimming skills (she fell into the stream) but no Dolly.

At that stage, we had to call a halt to the search much as it pained us to do so.

I have been in communication with Mags, he believes it is possible she was planning an escape from the moment she left the country. I honestly don't know. I had secured her into the rib myself, in fact, i thought she was more secure then Stan or Kat. Either way, she is gone.

I'm sorry folks for allowing this to happen on my watch, we (my daughter and I) feel bad over it. Despite the sylvanian incident, she had grown on us.

After discussion with Mags, the plan now is that Stan and Kat will continue her journey in her memory. I will start packing and update during the week.

I'd just like to warn everyone on the list to keep an eye out from now on - she'll turn up at your door when you least expect it. I suggest all names on the list check in on a daily basis so we know you're ok, and UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES GO TO YOUR CELLAR ALONE! Always make sure someone knows where you are and when you're expected back. Don't take any chances.

Respect goes out to Eamo's daughter who, by all accounts saved Security Stan and Meerkat from Dolly while Eamo hid in his car with the doors locked (that's what I heard anyway). Brave brave young woman.  :salute:

I feel bad it happened on my watch.

The stream flows into a river, which flows into the Atlantic ocean, within a mile or so of the "accident" - given time, she could make her way anywhere on the planet. I find it hard to believe she'd abandon Kat though

You know when people say 'they'd sell their own grandmother'? Well Dolly actually did sell her own grandmother Eamo, so don't be fooled by her. The only reason she would take Kat is as a hostage. I'm surprised she didn't push everyone off the boat and nick it. She must have a different plan.........

Dolly has one chink in her armour. She is allergic to Heavy Metal, the heavier it is the more allergic she is. I find playing Heavy metal at all hours keeps my environment Dolly free. At this very moment I am listening to Screaming for Vengeance by Judas Preist and there's no sign of Dolly. She's more of an '80's Dollar, Bucks Fizz kinda gal.\II/

With a heavy heart and great sadness I feel we must move on.

Kat and that useless gobsmurfe Security Stan will prepare for their trip in memory of Dolly over the next few days, hopefully setting sail across the Atlantic to visit JerseyDevil.

JD, could you pm me your address at some stage please ?

well, finally the day came . . . . Stan and Kat have said their goodbyes and are heading stateside.

Once again, Rex tried having Stan for a post dinner snack, tempted as i was to let Rex have him, after the debacle of the Dolly incident I couldn't face you guys and tell you i'd lost another traveller.

(http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p639/eamonf/20160922_201456_zpsm6r6fu17.jpg) (http://s1159.photobucket.com/user/eamonf/media/20160922_201456_zpsm6r6fu17.jpg.html)

Stan though was taking no such chances and promptly legged it . . . .

(http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p639/eamonf/20160922_201605_zpsqc5z4z8n.jpg) (http://s1159.photobucket.com/user/eamonf/media/20160922_201605_zpsqc5z4z8n.jpg.html)

and so, the time has come to say goodbye - Rex didn;t really wave cos Tyrannsaurs don't have very long arms, not really suitable for waving and such

(http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p639/eamonf/20160922_201658_zpsc6empsnx.jpg) (http://s1159.photobucket.com/user/eamonf/media/20160922_201658_zpsc6empsnx.jpg.html)

and so, the journey continues

(http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p639/eamonf/20160922_201751_zpsbd2ep0is.jpg) (http://s1159.photobucket.com/user/eamonf/media/20160922_201751_zpsbd2ep0is.jpg.html)

Dolly gone, but not forgotten.

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Excellent pics Eamo  :salute: I would say thanks for being a good host, but you were taken in by Dolly and she exploited your Gaelic hospitality to the max. We are all of us in danger now and I have had to retreat to my U Boat once again, while others on the list are having to up their security arrangements. I hope you have learned a valuable lesson. Trust no one. Gods save us all.  :D

I went out earlier to take out the garbage and suddenly had this strange feeling that I was being watched. :o I looked around, but there was nobody there.  Odd..... As I started to go back inside though, something caught my eye. What was that on top of the grill?

(http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g448/Jerseydevil379/20161002_142623_zpsnzyt9rg1.jpg) (http://s1102.photobucket.com/user/Jerseydevil379/media/20161002_142623_zpsnzyt9rg1.jpg.html)

It's Sam and Kat! They made it across the pond! :tu:  And they brought gifts! Of course, I can't get that picture to upload. :(  They seemed a bit tired from their trip, so I got them a cup of coffee and I'll take them out for something to eat in a bit. :)

Medical Boill passed the SI with flying colours and is risk assessing the whole U Boat as I type. I asked him about his REC qualification and he said he's qualified from the school of hard knocks, learnt it on the street, old skool, keeping it real'. So that's a No.

What did yours involve Eamo?

well, it mostly involved remote emergency care training

it covered CPR, AED's bandaging/splinting usual first aid stuff with a bit more emphasis on the outdoors, eg, big emphasis on keeping casualties sheltered/warm etc.

Always know where your towel is.

indeed. that pretty much covers it all really; such useful items so they are. though in fairness those little microfibre towels wouldn't be much use in combat.

Coffee break on the U Boat has been very relaxing since Dolly went away. Even the unpredictable and terrifying Cthennifer is keeping him her itself to itself somewhere in the bowels of the ship. Most days it's just me, R2 and Medical Bill chewing the fat, drinking coffee and watching old episodes of Dad's Army. R2 is off maintaining the torpedo tubes so today it's just me and Bill:

Take comfort Eamo that your daughter did her best to find Dolly (while you sat weeping in the car with the doors locked), and that life here on the U Boat is quite enjoyable without her malevolent prescence (Dolly's, not your daughters). Here's the crew enjoying a Cthuzzi - something they would never have dared if Dolly had been around;

See the coffee and SAK's thread for R2's conversion to CF33 (a chain gun fitted cthoffee machine). Unfortunately for R2, Ms Pansy saw little use for an Astromech droid on board a U Boat. She quickly converted it to serve cthoffee and sentry duties.

We had a visit at the U Boat this morning. Security Stans younger brother Derek has launched an investigation as to the whereabouts of his older bro. He is worried as up until recently he has had weekly communications from Stan. These stopped and with the added concern that came with Eamo letting Dolly free, Derek wants any news of his older, slower brother. Please post updates on this thread. Derek is offering a reward for information leading to confirmation of Stans safety. Something called 'Derek Vouchers'. Hmmmmmm.

I guess we'll have to watch this space. The U Boat has definitely been infiltrated and of course, somebody has left a note for R2 (or CF33 as it's known now). It will remain to be seen if one of the crew is playing a prank. I have Ms Pansy and Smallbacca interrogating gently questioning everybody to find answers. I am scouring CCTV footage for any evidence.

CF33 has mentioned feeling sad and lonely since dolly escaped from Eamo and disappeared, and so has been a bit brighter after reading the note. I hope for CF's sake that A. it's not a prank (not sure I would feel confident playing a cruel prank on something with chain guns) and B. that if dolly is indeed back, she won't mind R2's change to CF33 (I know dolly loves cthoffee so am hopeful).

To be continued................

R2 needs to hope if it is Dolly it's a new  reformed one and not some evil twin impostor or he'll need those new chain guns
We have 3  advantages that we didn't have before Dolly left: 1. Chain guns, 2. Smallbacca and 3. Ms Pansy Bjorn. I'd put money on her being able to take Dolly out cold. Also we have Medical Bill who is great cannon fodder.

I'm hopeful that if Dolly is indeed back she will have learned that R2 needs love, respect and longevity, not grenades and napalm.

After much soul searching CF33 left a note for Dolly to read. We know that Dolly is hiding in torpedo tube no.2 (the one without wi-fi) as we followed a trail of peanut M&M&M's (one better than M&M's) there on several occasions. We'll see what happens........

Oops, forgot to update this in all the excitement.

Dolly's back, spent a loooooong time pleading with R2 to take her back and now they are together! Yay! (I think hope).

By all accounts she's mellowed a bit while she was away.

This morning Ms Pansy discovered that during the last watch Dolly had converted CF33 (cthoffee maker/sentry droid/enforcer) back into her beloved, sweet and kind R2 unit. Harsh words were exchanged but before Smallbacca got involved, R2 tasered her. Smallbacca is mopping up as I type:

Ummm, they were crying in the corner. They don't like raised voices, angry wookiees, electric shocks and the possibility of gunfire being exchanged. They're better now. I sat them down for a story and hot milk.

It has been brought to my attention that my retort was a little aggressive, the minions were annoyed at me for potentially instigating a war with a member of the rebel alliance, and the factions here have all made friends so don't want me upsetting smallbacca, or potentially reverting Dolly to her old ways.

My apologies to smallbacca  for thinking she was a bloke. It's an honest mistake to make with all that fur.

Might I suggest a waxing session or some nair    :D

They get on well now. They bonded when the stormtroopers shooting was so bad they all had to deflect using their lightsabres. Vader was all for just force choking the life out of them, but with no emperor about, the light side seems to have mellowed him and he deferred to yoda's teaching again.

Soz Gareth - I meant to make an official announcement but she has been so calm and kind since returning I didn't want to rock the (U) Boat (nautical joke there). She's asked for forgiveness from those she hurt/stabbed/imprisoned/napalmed and has joined in crew life with gusto and aplomb. Here she is doing the 3 push ups required daily by PE instructor Smallbacca:

I feel . . . so conflicted . . . . on one hand i am so happy she made it home alive, on the other, so devastated she would do something like that to us . . . we treated her like family and this is how we were repaid. My daughter is so hurt by this saga i doubt she will ever recover emotionally.

I'm sure Dolly could write a book on her adventures from the west of ireland to the top secret location of the U boat, a journey of many hundreds of miles. If I were interested i'd read it, but tbh, after the way she treated us i doubt i would.

I feel . . . so conflicted . . . . on one hand i am so happy she made it home alive, on the other, so devastated she would do something like that to us . . . we treated her like family and this is how we were repaid.

It's prolly best you don't Eamo. The chapters (3-8, 12-17 and 24-27) dealing with the escape - your brave daughter doing her utmost to rescue Dolly while you locked yourself in the car and wept are extremely moving. When questioning Dolly on her return, she harbours massive regrets about deceiving your daughter the way she did, and she is eager to make amends. WITHIN REASON, let me know what she can do and she will try her best to do it.

Well that's it, the fallout shelter is finished and stocked with 10 years worth of Pot Noodles.  Do you think I should have bought something other than Curry flavour?  Anyhoo, that's me heading down now.  I'm not sure the house Wi-Fi will be able to penetrate the 3 foot thick lead walls so if you don't hear from me for a while don't worry.

You made the right choice of Pot Noodle flavours G-Man - I hope the sanitary appliances are adequate......

Dolly has expressed an interest in attending the Meet. I hope her presence won't put you off......

Three things:

A, G-man is underground. He won't be able access wifi and hear you.

B, I wonder what G-Man is boiling his noodles with. He did not mention stocking water, so probably he will come back out VERY soon.

C, 3ft Lead walls? Really? 12 ft Concrete walls are better AND cheaper.  >:(

A. My bad - I thought I would prepare him for the worst.

B. Maybe he likes them crunchy  :D

C. G-Man is heir to a vast lead mine in Scotland and so his house, car and now bunker are all fashioned from lead.

No, no the underground compound is made of reinforced concrete and lead.  The house was a very effective bit of sacrificial camouflage.  My wife and daughter seem a little put out for some reason, but I don't know why.

We sat down and had a heart to heart. Dolly told me she had no choice but to escape from your evil clutches. She said you made her do hours of washing up and ironing, and that you made her comb your hair 30 times a day. Is this true Eamo? She is a shell of her former self and needs lots of hugs. I'm inclined to believe her.

All-in-all it's a great system, large capacity, easy pour, bright colour makes it easy to see in the dark. My only criticism is that the rim is a little hard and tends to leave a mark. :-\

I'll admit there might be a few teething problems, but nothing I can't overcome with a bit of careful thought.  Perhaps some kind of scaffolding and harness?

Something like that might work I suppose, but you're thinking a little small.  I cobbled this together last night and feel the need to test it this morning.

You see, what you do is gently cradle yourself in the sling on the end of the arm, a serf pulls the lever and then you smurf yourself.  I admit the placement of the bucket could take some fine tuning, but I'll get there. :tu:

I'm trying to train a flock of African Swallows to preform a mid air catch using a system of vines and creepers.  So far the results have been, at best, mixed. :-\  For some reason they keep dropping coconuts on the serfs.

That's ok, I can bring to our structural workshop and get them steam cleaned, shot blasted, and de-greased. If that doesn't work I'll leave them out for the pikey's to take for scrap.

He's a bit clumsy, he keeps dropping his helmet. I suspect his ineptitude is due to past head injuries. And his right arm came off when raised so I think smallbacca has got to him a time or two.

I think she has absconded - all of our best Black Metal albums and Jaffa cakes are missing too.

I have some sad news. R2 and Dolly have parted company. They were too dangerous for each other and R2 has had enough.

There has been an unfortunate breach in security in the sLaughter household. It was a perfectly pleasant Sunday morning, until I decided to catch up on checking the mail, and was greeted with this horrifying  scene:

Dolly was in a positively delighted mood, despite my despair; I suppose she was excited to stretch her legs after her long journey from parts unknown. So far she has been well behaved, and is enjoying her time hanging out in the States immensely.

Ever the curious spirit, Dolly has begun investigating her new environment with my garden

Not that i want her visiting after she abused my hospitality last time. My daughter still wakes up crying at night with the terror of it all. When my dogs are bold, all i gotta do is eyeball them and quietly say "Dolly" and they behave themselves. The cats ? Well, i won't mention what she done to the cats.
I am grateful that the herd hadn't moved in while she was there, probably never lay an egg again by the time she'd be finished with them !

Now she was without an army, no weapons and surrounded by two lances of battle mechs, and that was not the worst part. The worst part was two of those lances contained a Warhammer and an Atlas. Not good.
Now the Warhammer she could take single handed. It would be tough, but she could do it.

While Dolly could take the Warhammer out, the Atlas, however, was a different story. The Atlas is the most wicked battlemech to walk the galaxy. Even the most battle hardened clanner scum, with there light years ahead tech, would smurf a brick when when this MOFO crosses the battlefield. The Atlas, commonly known in the Innersphere as Big Al, not just only destroys a mech, it nukes the continent in which the mech was currently occuping.

Dolly hasn't seen her since they used to work part time as Chaos Space Marines on the weekends guarding a plasma rifle and bubble gum factory. Hey, the Chaos Space Marines kick ass all the time, and they are not gonna run out of bubble gum.

Anyways, this long lost squad member named Molle,(see what I did there) swoops in and is packing enough heat to arm a third world army.

Dolly has sent an emissary of chaos through the warp storm to advise me she will be staying Stateside with Molle and Nate for the foreseeable future. They have some catching up to do and a continent to wreck.

I'm just glad our prayers to Cthulhu worked

Good luck Nate  :tu:
:salute:
Dolly will stay with us until Mags and his dark legions needs her again. I think the shop will be a nice base of operations for Dolly and Molle.
Hail Cthulhu and for the Dark Gods!

Dolly has most of her stuff moved in and Molle is getting her geared up for future conquests.
They even got the dragon in on it. Chaotic as usual.

No I am not gonna throw her into the drink or anything like that, yet.
I do however have big plans for Dolly and Molle. This next adventure is gonna take a while to do, the battletech post will be hard to beat, but i have an idea and should be very worth it, I hope.

I think the fact that Nate didn't start Dollys trip by flinging her into a raging torrent of freezing cold water and then initiating the biggest cover-up this side of the Kennedy assassination is a good sign.

oh, how quickly you forget. she started by terrorising some sylvanians if you recall ?
she met Bruno, made friends with Kat, she was given the royal treatment.

However, *SHE* was the one who wanted to take the RIB out, Kat and Security Stan were not so keen.

oh, how quickly you forget . . . . . but my daughter still wakes with nightmares.

Eamo, How quickly YOU forget,
With treachery the RIB upset,
All brave sailors lost in peril,
Poor Dolly forc'ed feral
And lonely, cross'ed the sea,
While Eamo, safe ashore, rubs his hands in glee.

And that's how it happened.

Looking forward to Dollys visit.

Y-yikes!

Jesus H. Smurf! Sounds like my last girlfriend!

I'm just on page three. According to the titles, I thought this would be someone from the UK following Dolly Parton around the world on a concert tour, reaching out for a hospitable host at every stop.

Then I just thought sending a robot figure around the world would be silly. Then I thought about the advert with the traveling gnome. And  I came to see Dolly' s volatile but passionate personality (robotality?). All that and the geo-caching angle. I may just be invested in this 'round the world in 80 days spin off.

Without the constant threat from Dolly and only sporadic explosions needing our attention we can get on with the mundane tasks in the U Boat. Today is haircut day for the second watch and as usual it's being done with the MP400 scissors and Smallbacca screaming at everyone from start to finish.

I feel bad it happened on my watch.

The stream flows into a river, which flows into the Atlantic ocean, within a mile or so of the "accident" - given time, she could make her way anywhere on the planet. I find it hard to believe she'd abandon Kat though

Page 5...what the...?
Dolly, GONE?
She DID take the helm...
She DID head for the rapids of her own accord...

I dunno guys. I HAVE seen Rambo. On top of that, I am guessing Dolly may have taken a page out of the Annie Edson Taylor book on river navigation

Oh, Eamo, you poor smurf. Dolly hid her true intent and bid her time, much like my Beagle, just waiting for a chance - the RIGHT chance- to dart out the kitchen door while I'm taking the garbage out, and you were left holding the bag.

Great battle near the end, meeting Molle, too! Although it was a bit like meeting Mr. Spock' s brother we never knew of in Star Trek 5, but with a much better story line. And much better action, actually. And better cinematography.

I don't know about you guys, but with Dolly and Molle together, I'd say that the powers of Good better find a way to keep them placated. It would take but a nudge to push them back into a dark place, and we've just seen what they are capable of with those blasters
