Interesting video made by a maintenance man after using his Gerber tool pack for 4 years.

That tool has sure seen some miles on it. These are the kinds of reviews I like seeing.

Me too, but 12 minutes... ouch....
I never had too much faith in long term use of plastic cases, but this one seems to have held up quite well. Maybe I will have to start looking into them again- I see SOG is starting to use plastic sheaths again too. I wonder where he is, and whether that plastic case has been exposed to the cold, which often kicks the crap out of plastic as it generally gets brittle.
I don't have this specific model, but I do have the Stratus that this tool is based off and I firmly believe it to be one of the great unsung multitools. I usually am not a fan of tools with plastic handles, but the Stratus was just as tough as anything else I've used and I was impressed by it.

Yeah it was 12 minutes, but a good 12 minutes. I didn't realize that it that long of a video til it was done. He definitely had some good insight and what to improve on that rig.

I had to stop at 5mins. Its great to hear its served him well so just say that and be done with it. Maybe highlight what stood out or be better prepared to convey what it was trying to be conveyed.

Nice review. Not often you se a review of a tool that has been properly used and abused like that.
I do wish he had talked a bit faster though (or cut down on all the silent time)

Tough crowd.

To be fair.
Id rather watch a slow video by a person who truly knows the tool and has sensible things to say, like this one, than a fancy fast paced video by a person that has little knowlede of the subject japping away.

HEY! I resemble that remark!

We cant exactly accuse you of japping away now can we?
And I think "pliers with pokey bits" is a very precise and accurate way to describe a Surge. :D

The part about the pliers breaking was pretty accurate. I've heard of the suspensions and other Chinese Gerbers doing it, although mine has yet to fail me in over three years.

I've heard about the Chinese Gerbers having issues with the pliers breaking, and although my Suspension has yet to fail me, I have seen a previous model with this problem. I like these reviews where the tool has actually been tested, instead of just being looked at and put away. Long live field testers! :salute: :multi:

That tool had seen some use.
