The UK Drought.
Just a quick question to other UK based collectors; is there any source of older model SAK’s other than local car boot sales / antique shops?
Recently seen a nice 1963 Soldier model on eBay (from Austria). Ok I know we can not sell / advertise knives on the UK eBay, but I didn’t realise we can not bid on knives advertised outside the UK. I tried messaging the seller, by eBay has blocked my messages as it is considered trying to get round their UK policy.
Any other sources I can try?
also there are other forums - not sure direct links are allowed?I think links to other forums are fine.
No it was this one Item number 232922117916 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1963-Wenger-Soldier-1961-model-Swiss-Army-Knife-Red-Alox-Scales/232922117916
seller was jdreece_ch. he was nice enough to reply to my message, but eBay has blocked me from replying.
If he is a member here, Im sorry I didn't get back.
I was recently trying to sell a Yeoman on eBay but my listing was removed.
It is now on Shpock (mobile app), which seems actually to have a lot of SAKs listed.

There seem to be some very odd prices for Vics on Shpock
Can't sell a knife in the UK version of the 'bay, but apparently you can sell your girlfriend for 120,000. Surprised they even allowed the listing. Now that was funny...YouTube has a lot of husband/wife - boyfriend/girlfriend pranks that are pretty funny.

Amazon UK won’t ship SAKs, other knives, glue, and many other uncountable things to the Republic of Ireland anymore.
That’s in addition to the eBay knife restrictions applying to us too...
Pabs just use something like addresspalI know, but thanks.
I just put that there off the top of my head as one of the things that amazon won’t ship. Since that ‘not permitted’ list includes things like Zebra pens, I don’t think that glue is being singled out. :facepalm:Amazon UK won’t ship SAKs, other knives, glue, and many other uncountable things to the Republic of Ireland anymore.

Glue? Is there an epidemic of sniffing over there?
Reminds me of when the new knife laws came into Scotland a couple of years ago. Someone bought a M44 Mosin Nagant carbine which comes with an attached bayonet. They let him have the gun but not the pointy bit. How’s that for madness.
