I'll hop in. Name/Addy PMed. Who's getting this thing next?
Who's getting this thing next?I'm hesitant, as I played last year. Hopefully someone will take you up on it once you've got it in-hand.

I'll hop in. Name/Addy PMed. Who's getting this thing next?I hope you find at least something that you like and enjoy.
:pok: Let the next one step up and get some cool stuff. So shocking how people don’t want free stuff.
As I've said before, I played last year. But if nobody else claims the mystery box by the end of this week, I'll be playing again.
I was referring to something I might add. If I say what it is, then it won't be a surprise! :D
So whoever wants in step up. As you can see Poncho and FX will put a neat item in so you're bound to find something fun to play with.
NEXT up after Farmer X? :pok:
So happy to see Sos's kindness finally doing what she intended. Hope you got a thing or three to play with out the box or at the very least your daughter did.
I would ask if you included a surplus Mini Tool, but I know you don't have any of those :whistle:I highly doubt he'll be parting with any.
I would ask if you included a surplus Mini Tool, but I know you don't have any of those
:popcorn:I can say for sure that everything that I contributed in September of 2021 has been claimed...and there was a Victorinox Executive in there.
I don’t even know what is in the box anymore, which makes it even more exciting.
I will play!
Guess when Farmer gets finished with the box then LC can be contacted about it :woohoo: :like: :like::woohoo: the box continues
Count me in after LC :tu:Glad to see you getting in on the action.
This seems to be getting a much better response than we were getting with the original. That went months without anyone stepping up. I never would have thought it could be so hard to give stuff away. :dunno:I’m glad it is too.
I’m in if there’s a spot.

You're up after me colt :tu:
And I'll get in line after colt :tu:
Is there a thread where pics are being posted? Or is it secret?I suppose you can post photos of what you kept after the box has left your possession. I'll do that soon.
For the cost of a small priority box you can have a little fun and pick up some neat things.'Fraid it's gotten so full that the contents will no longer fit in a small flat rate box!
:woohoo: Great stuff, LC :like: and I can't believe it is already headed to, Steve :o :ahhh :like:I selected three items that tickled my fancy.
Fastest turnaround ever. :tu:My treasures I found were
 Thats what happened last time too. Y'all are generous.:agree: The generosity here is awesome. What started as a small effort that was suppose to deplete as it went has grown twice. First time it was split and Aloha set a box down under to share the wealth. Now, it has grown again.
Those are some good ones to have kept.
My treasures I found wereScore!

A DEFIANT 2xAAA Flashlight
Victorinox Climber Camo
And a 10 year MTo poker chip.
It was enjoyable to sort it out, unpack, double check the packing material to make certain awl was revealed. Fun
Sorry, I forgot, awl packing material was kept too! No more room in the box, I must be a poor packer
BPRoberts just suggested splitting it and sending up north to MTO motherland, Canada if your not aware.
Thoughts?
Good to see my tape is still holding the box together
I actually took everything off that I could and taped it up with the clear tape to strengthen it :D
Glad it made it, Steve :woohoo: :like:
Pill holder??? I wondered what that was!
Did you also pull the light diffuser for the flash light? (The white plastic thing)
There is something you won't be receiving::rofl:
Here is what I kept. Mainly the flashlight, pill carrier and the little brass hammer cause it's cool :DI thought about keeping the flashlight and the hammer. It's awlways good to have a flashlight that can run on regular ol' alkaline batteries!
Did you also pull the light diffuser for the flash light? (The white plastic thing)Did it have a blue light?
Pill holder??? I wondered what that was!Nice!
Did you also pull the light diffuser for the flash light? (The white plastic thing)
Hopefully colt can lighten it up more than I did, it's getting heavy :ahhhIm excited to see whats in there!
It's getting expensive to ship it in the box it's in. I should have used a medium Priority box and it would have been around $14. It was $22 to ship it priority in the box it's in.I’ll repackage it, and send out the next day. Adam your next.
The medium flat rate box is also bigger.
One other item I inadvertently kept as I forgot to put it back in the box before I sealed it up and mailed it :oops:Oh score on the the snap on light

I am so glad I left in box, for Colt! It’s perfect
So glad the box is gathering interest and moving, keeping excitement peaked.
Nice to see another lime green Spartan! :tu:Can’t find them anymore or there super expensive

That's okay. I am getting use to mail running late. I have been waiting 3 weeks for a package from McStitchy to arrive :wait:Ok it’s in your state!

Fortunately, I am an active member of this forum and have a sharp on me at all times. Otherwise, the roll of packing tape that this box is entombed in would have been problematic
Upon opening, I found a multitude of goodies :o
I have made my selections and now have the task of deciding what to put into the box. After I have done that, I will send it by mule over the Appalachian Mountains to Poncho in Tennessee.
Sherri, are you seeing this box . It left me bloated but goodness its triple in size now :ahhh. It is hilarious.
Y'all are too fun. Poncho and his daughter are going to be basically starting over with this box. Man this thing looks heavy too :D.
Well done all.
For those watching but havent put you name on the list, :pok: get in on this.
Poncho
AlanK
Am I missing a name?
I paid extra for tracking so that we can keep up with the GAW as it travels to Poncho.
As can be seen here, the GAW has started its ascent of the Appalachian Mountains:
I am confident it will arrive at Poncho's front door by the end of the month :2tu:
I seriously doubt any of the original items are still in the box. Not that I'd remember anyway.Everything that I received back in September of 2021 was claimed. There was awl manner of interesting stuff in the box when I sent it off last month.
It's been a couple of years since the first go around so I seriously doubt any of the original items are still in the box. Not that I'd remember anyway. Can't wait to see what's in there. :woohoo:
Who wants next?
(https://i.imgur.com/p6CTbYW.jpg)
 bet Poncho will blame awl delays on his daughter!!!
On page 7, I typed I would not mind getting another look at the box…
Had a couple items to add that did not fit the first visit as well.
Actually the fault will be whoever has time to take it to the Post Office  likely my wife because I am never home when the Post Office is actually open except on Saturdays :D
Will try to get it off to him sometime this week :ahhh
So, LC is next after I get it to Alan :woohoo: :like:
I expect I'm not getting any brownies though. ::)
Here is what I ended up with :salute:Those mini pry bars look pretty cool. Hope your daughter gets some good use out of the Kershaw! :hatsoff:
:twak: :DI still remember when I was in college and my Aunt sent me some homemade bread and cookies for Thanksgiving. But the mailroom closed for the holiday before I got there. I had to wait until Sunday evening and by that time some of it was moldy. I was so sad. I picked through the box to ensure I got everything that was still good.
The last ones I had were in October, so if there were any left they would be moldy, so best not to ship things like that  :D

Yes, I think they are the ones that County Comm sells  either way I liked them :D
She likes knives and I figured she would like that one and when I showed it to her she took it and left :D
It's a Gerber and it is reddish aluminum perhaps burgundy  I have a soft spot of the Old Timer USA made ones from Schrade  :D
I am also a suckered for pry bars no matter the size :ahhh
Here is what I ended up with :salute: I think that was all  who knows I may have gotten something else and already forgot  :rofl:Nice haul and glad you shared with daughter.
My daughter did also get the blue handled Kershaw flipper but I have no idea where it is and she isn't here to bring it to me for a pic :dunno: :D
A weakness?
I don't remember seeing the Old Timer :dunno: :D

I'm not trying to highjack this thread, but I wish I could be part of this. I know no such package would ever cross the Atlantic or inter'l borders without "disappearing", so I'm not asking for anything, but I just have great memories from EDC passarounds. :cry:I have successfully sent stuff to Europe and thought about paying shipping to try sending part of this one, like what was done for NZ and Australia. But from what I understand VAT probably would make it not worth it.
If only there was an EU pass around…
At this point seems no matter how much anyone takes it always end up with so much more. Take take take.Members here take to heart the old saying “It is better to give than receive”
Definitely :ahhh :DI find one of the easiest ways to get some women involved is the small easy carry pocket pair. A pair similar to below has been given and become a edc for several women I know.
You obviously didn't go through everything as well as me :dunno: :D
Thanks Sos :hatsoff: anything to get her interested in sharp and shineys :D I know she has an appreciation for them even if it isn't as deep as the appreciation I have :D
My wife was one! If she tried it, and it worked, she would find a way to have it.Awesome story.
We were at a picnic for my work, something needed cutting, she asked for my knife, I had a Buck 112 on my belt and gave it to her.
On the way home she gave it back. Asked about it and where I bought it. Buck web site.
A couple days later she asked this site, yes, showed her hunting knives, classic and then customs and how to pick your own handles, steel etc. (three months from my bd!)
Well nothing more said, or asked or even hinted.
Out to eat with family, nicer place, two of grandkids ordered corn for a side, arrived corn on the cob. Problem both are 6 yrs and no front teeth. Grandma picks up her purse, extracts a Buck Ranger with Stag handles, opens the blade and sliced that corn off the Cobb in no time, wiped the blade and closed and returned to her purse.
I never asked, and she never said a thing, but it was HERS.

Oh, she has all kinds of different SAKs and a few LM tools and does carry something always in her purse (except for when she is at school ;) ) She has a pretty good sized 58mm SAK collection and a few different type knives :cheers:You need to get her a jetsetter or LM PS Style for school. After seeing my PS Style, one of my nephews begged me for one so he could have something he could take to school.
I have gotten my wife to carry a 58mm alox Classic and that is probably the extent of it :dunno: :D
Bought my mom a No 8 Opinel that she carries in her purse always (I have the small trad that her mom (my granny) carried with her as well :salute: )
I gave my mom and my sister each a Susan G Komen breast cancer awareness commemorative Classic SD. They always have them in their purses and seem to like them. Picture off the web.
My wife hasn't bought herself anything yet, but her "share" of my collection is slowly growing. My wife doesn’t even say “share”. There is here end table Super Tinker and her kitchen Pioneer X.
It started off with a spare Classic, then she got a Tinker when we started camping. When I switched out my Rambler for an Executive she took the Rambler. The Classic sits on her desk and opens mail now. She grabs the Tinker when she wants something a little bigger, and the Rambler gets a decent amount of use.
I hunted down her birth year Soldier, and she carried it on a few camping trips. She liked it, but she wanted scissors and I didn't want have to replace the Soldier if something happened to it. SMKW had a deal on blue (her favorite color) Farmer Xs, and I'd wanted one anyway, so we upgraded her to that. It mostly lives in her car, but she drops it in her pocket when we're wandering around the woods or go over her mom's to help fix something.
The Sos Suprise Box is now headed away from the rolling hills of Tennessee :woohoo:
Hope Alan finds all kinds of goodies in it :dd: :like:
I chose a few items from the box. I was like a kid with a stack of trading cards. "Need it, got it, got 3 of those, need it, got it." Common sense eventually took over and I put most of the items back into the box.
Remembering, as the great George Carlin used to say, "You can't have everything. Where would you put it?" I had to seal the box before I was tempted by anything else. Of course I added a few things before I sealed the new, smaller yet somehow heavier box. It will be on its way to LoopCutter as soon as I can get to the post office.
I kept a Spyderco knife but not sure the model, a Schrade hawk's bill electrician, an Imperial sod buster, a Gerber Shortcut, and then, because I needed it to cut the tape on the box, I decided to keep the WorkPro folding box cutter. The box, with some new items I added, is already in LoopCutter's city according to USPS tracking so he should have it Friday or Saturday. That is a nice haul and good variety

:iagree: and excited for LC now :woohoo: :like:
I'm glad that it arrived intact but sorry to hear that it got wet. I hope you took everything out of the wet box before they started to rust.
Nice haul.
I'm open to taking another turn, but if someone else hasn't had it yet I'd rather give them a shot before I double up.I found this victim a couple pages back!
That was the consensus in the other thread as well. I've more or less got my picks made, so I'll try to get them posted tomorrow.
I'll be going to the post office tomorrow to send Buck a 110 for service. If anyone can get me their address in the next 12 hours or so I'd love to drop this off along with it.
Nice to see this one hasn’t stalled.
You gonna be next SoS?I have been curious about what it has become, so maybe if no one else jumps in.
You will only want to share WHAT you take from the box.
Leave the contents a mystery for the next person to anticipate😎
Hope you found some nice goodies Harley. Awesome to see it moving.
I didn’t post my haul pictures here?!The Rough Rider is a Moose Pattern, it is a legit knife pattern😉
A mutant Rough Rider Trapper thing that I am excited to carry during the Traditional Challenge and a sweet Whia mini driver to replace the Victorinox Driver I lost.

That pouch was a big help in cramming all the little gadgets in last time the box came my way.
I have been curious about what it has become, so maybe if no one else jumps in.
Private message ourFair Lady for her address, she just up the coast, a couple states or less away in that Navy port south of DCRight now isn’t good, but if it isn’t moving in a week or so I’ll take a turn
:iagree: It had some great momentum. Who's next? Sos are ya ready for it?Yes, it is. I’m back in town and have some down time, so I’m in.
:woohoo:
Back to the start, this will be interesting.
Neat items you selected SOS!
I am with Poncho, so much intrigue after the box makes a stop!
The receiver selects what appeals to them, then feels quilts and adds more treasures to the box for the next member to select
Maybe change the box’s name! The Guilty Pleasures Box, or Temptations & Gifts…
If and when it visits Poncho, I will take it after him
Then again we could play KEEP AWAY!

We have a good list lets keep adding to it. :woohoo:
Come on Poncho, you know you have to show us what you picked. :pok:
What was the purple knife? Catherine's purple knife? I think that was already answered. Let's see.... Looking back.... Yes, it was CUTE.
I think it was mean to not let her pick from the box when you had it before, Aloha. Just saying. Best wishes. Gary
Great pics, Aloha :woohoo: :like: :like:
I am surprised that Catherine let you look at it after the Randy Savage move you put on her with the pen. Of course, I had already said to myself that looks like a Viper Storm. One of the cute purple ones.
You got to love a woman with a purple Viper Storm in her pocket. Proud of it. Rockin it. Any female enjoying a knife in her jeans has my respect and admiration already. Best wishes. Gary :hatsoff:
:woohoo: I'm looking forward to getting my hands on it!
It went coast to coast this last trip. Its a fun box and well worth the cost to ship to the next person. I loaded it up myself and I suspect it will continue to be loaded up tho not necessary.
Come on now dont be shy, add your name to the list. Get back on the list for a second go at the box. There were many things that were not in the box the first time I got it.

I better hurry up and put on my batting helmet and take a few swings to warm up. This call came early. The box is on its way to you!

Lets nudge everyone we can to get in on this.
My second. I really would like to see more new people get in on it before it comes to me again. I reckon I'll sign up again in 2024. :cheers:I agree. I don’t understand, but I’m glad at least people are signing up and enjoying. I was happy with my haul and there were even some other things I could have kept.
I know everyone has been waiting for the 'What did IMR keep' list. No? Well, here it is anyway. I used the flattened box that will be used to ship the booty to Terry for a background. Maybe I can put it together....? I do have some tape. Might be later on in the week to ship. I will post it. Post office is closed tomorrow, and I will be busy early in the week.
The logo knife is the 84mm. You can see the split scale. I wonder how the shield emblem split too? Aren't those things metal?
The other Vic was glued together with old lube of some sort. I wiped WD40 on it and scraped it with a fingernail. That didn't take it off. Just like varnish. Finally, I soaked it in Dawn and warm water. Still sluggish. I don't care. Has anybody out there noticed how when the zip goes out of a SAK it is usually the layer that has the can opener and cap-lifter? I buffed the scales a little and cleaned it up some, so it doesn't look bad. No scales tools unfortunately.
Finally the Leatherman. I have never owned one. My pal Lee bought the first model when it was reviewed in Soldier of Fortune Magazine years ago. Had to have it. He carried it some, but I doubt if he ever took it out of the slim black pouch. That was the first and last Leatherman I ever had in my hand. Early 80's some time?
This is a Wagonman. Wait a second. Get my glasses. It is a Wingman. Not too big. I decided before the box came, that if there was a Leatherman of any type or condition that I would grab it. I want to own a Leatherman for one time.
My other wishes are for something Alox, and a 111mm. I have never seen or held either one in my life. Small town. Nobody sells them here. I bought my 108mm down in Dalton, Georgia years ago and they didn't have any more SAKs in that store either. Well, I will either find some, or I won't. I never order anything. Mail trouble, remember?
So this is IMR's picks. The cute OD lanyard thing was nice and the black thing that looks like a dog whistle is a snap link thing. I might go back through the box and see if anything else looks yummy. Maybe not. Best wishes. Gary

Some of you US residents have likely never seen a failed delivery receipt. If you are from Portugal or Aussie, of course this is all new.
I got this from the cute letter carrier. What do you do with it? Take it to the post office with some identification and claim your mail. The counter worker checks your ID, takes the receipt and fetches the mail. Then they keep the receipt and use it to log the transaction. You can also reschedule a delivery with the information on the receipt. I put the little SAKs on the package number and my address. No need to make that public.
So, I will take the receipt tomorrow and try to claim the package. We will see. Best wishes. Gary

No, actually, I've seen my fair share of "you were not at home or I was just to lazy to ring and walk up a few flights of stairs" notes in my mailbox. You have to take it to the post office, they check your ID, you sign the note and get your letter/package.
... --- ... Sending a Sos to NutSAK. Mystery box left Greenville, SC over 2 hours ago. Last seen headed west. Best wishes. Gary
I spent 30 to 45 minutes going through the contents of the box, and I decide to keep these items:
1) A Klein pocketknife made by Utica. I already have one, but I am a Klein collector and I also like to spend time working on used pocketknives that need a little love.
2) Reclaimed a pair of Klein bit drivers that I put in the box the last time I had it. I am in need of them now :D
3) A couple of keychain tools that are unlike any I already own
4) Buck 363 that may replace a Case Mini Blackhorn that I carry in my wallet.
5) Not pictured is a mechanical pencil that uses 0.7 mm lead. I lost the one I use at work recently.
I have already had it so many times in less than a year
Why do I feel like I need to see it again :ahhh
It isn't far, so Adam, send it on to me
You just sent me some stuff, so I suppose you still have my address
Received and opened the box a few hours ago :woohoo:
I see a couple things that for sure I will keep  and need to really go through the box to see what else is in there now :ahhh :like:
:nanadance: :nanadance:
Two questions:
1) Am I allowed to sign up for this even though I'm new?
2) If I'm allowed to sign up, am I allowed to add more than I take even if I only take one item?
Thanks!
The box weighed over 10 pounds! :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh
Here's what I kept.Nice haul and I love the reasoning.
A Buck 112 folder because you can never have too many Buck 112's. It's going right into my road trip bag so I'll always have a knife with me when I hit the road, even if I forget to put one in my pocket.
An ESEE Zancudo folder because it just looked like an interesting knife.
A pen knife that looks like a fish because I was thinking of getting something whimsical to wear on a watch chain, and there it was.
A ferro rod because you can never have too many ways of starting a fire.
A NiteIze one piece tool because. Just because.
And lastly I kept 3 very well done paracord zipper pulls because I always need them.
:like: new blood showing interest in box is a very good thing!Agree. It is awesome to see new interest.
Hopefully they will not overwhelm Ed by the shear goodness within the cardboard confines
I never would have thought it would be so hard ~~~. Who knows, maybe they're in the witness protection program. :dunno:
I'm carrying the ESEE folder now. :cheers:You should take at least as much as you're putting in. If you don't, soon this will be a truck being driven from place to place, instead of a box...
I wish samekind boxes would trip here in europe but i fear that postages would go pretty fast ridicilous prices ( cheapest packet to like Finland to Germany would cost 19.90€ and it doeant include warrant) also there might be customs even if sended inside europe, need to inform all products inside packet or it will be halted and need to pay hefty fines and worst case scenario lose items to state also.I would definitely be part of a European box, it did work on another forum a half a dozen of years ago. There are private companies that do very good prices (like, 5 euros), but only work in France, Benelux and Germany. Hopefully, one day, all of UE. But there isn't getting around having to inform the products. I'm sure most of the confiscated stuff ends up in someone's pocket though, don't know what the state would do with a box full of PSTs… :D
Only Tools Matters
I think smurf is a MTo word. I never heard it anywhere else. Except in the little blue people cartoon. Best wishes. GIs this a good time to share our different versions of Smurfs ?
:D
It's a lot of fun. Not really possible to send it to Canada, let alone Europe. Too many duties, restrictive laws about knives, etc. Does anybody know the status of the Australian box? Where is this thing? We have lots of active Aussies here. Seems like somebody should know. Is this thing sitting on top of a windmill at a cattle station? In the back of a ute?Exactly. I thought about sending at least part to EU but between laws and VAT, it would probably end up more hassle and cost than worth.
Best wishes. Gary
Exactly. I thought about sending at least part to EU but between laws and VAT, it would probably end up more hassle and cost than worth.Sadly laws here in EU is so diffrent in each country, some are loose and some really strict, thats why its sad that we cant have samekind box here and making samekind box even inside 1 country would be really fast rounded members, like here in Finland i know only 2 others members who are active in Mto.
I’m not sure what happened ro the Aussie/NZ box after a few members had a meet up.
~. Santa must have lost my carefully drawn map and the chimney diagram I sent him, so this will be the only box I will open this Xmas. Best wishes. Gary
Box is indeed on the move again with a small care package inside. Strapped it on top of a jackalope and sent him on his way.

Haven't had black-eyed peas and cornbread in a while. That sounds good as it's cooling down over here. Finally got down to the high 40s last night.
~~
I looked in my mirror as I drove out of the parking lot. Mother had come back from the post office and was standing with the little girl waving frantically. I didn't feel like going back for what was probably just an embarrassing thank you from her. So I drove on. Last I heard she was yelling something. Hard to tell what.
Probably wanted to know what you feed a jack-a-lope. Like I knew. Best wishes. Gary

I used to have one of those watches when I was kid. I had one that you could put phone numbers in too.
You can't have too many organizers.
This seems really fun! Am I able to get in on this?
Just so the newcomers know, you DON'T post a photo of what is in the box when you get it or when you ship it. That spoils the surprise element. Also, you MUST post a photo of the items you keep. Shipping by priority mail is the quickest, cheapest, safest way to do it. Boxes and labels are free at any post office. Insurance for $100 is also free with priority mail. If you want extra insurance, that is up to you. You will need a roll of packing tape. Walmart, Dollar Tree, whatever. The wide, clear kind is best. Have fun. Best wishes. Gary

Good to know, cause I was gonna take a pic of everything in the box, lol. I've messaged Aloha and he is gonna get it sent to me. I also got Bigshep's message and have his info to send to him when I'm done. :woohoo:This is SO EXCITING lol.
You new guys are going to be shocked at the generosity of the members of this community. Sos originally sent out a few pieces in a small priority box and her idea was if you see something you like take it, then send it on to somebody else until the box is empty. The problem was the box never got emptied because everyone who got it added to it until it grew so much it was divided into 2 medium priority boxes one of which was sent overseas as the down under edition. They've both been moving steadily now for 2 or 3 years and many of us are repeat customers because it's so much fun seeing what's been added to the box since the last time you saw it. :cheers:I can't wait to add unique pieces to it.

And there have been some really nice items passed on through the generosity of several members via the box.
I haven't gotten it yet. I messaged Aloha to check on the status.
Hasn't posted in almost 2 weeks. That is some cause for concern unless the other moderators have some clue as to his whereabouts.Aloha....you out there?

We don't know anything more than you guys on Aloha's absence. I've reached out to him but so far haven't heard back. Hopefully he's on vacation or just taking a break from the internet. If I hear something I'll let you all know.
I've sent Aloha a post card via U.S. mail. Hopefully he will reply here soon anyway, but if not he should get the post card in a couple of days and then he or his family will know we are thinking of him. This just has to be the best forum on the net. :D
Some of you know Aloha's name and address. I wish someone would find his phone number and give him a buzz. Not about the surprise box. Forget that.
People go MIA from here all the time. I could name some. So could you. This is strange stuff for a highly placed member of the forum. If I were going on vacation or something, I would say so and tell everyone I would mail the box when I got back. Didn't happen here.
Stuff happens to people. All of us. I don't think it would be indiscrete for someone to call. It is natural to check on your friends. Best wishes. G
:dunno:
Excellent choices Lazar! :like:
The Swiss Tool is a top tear pliers based tool for sure. You can check the SAKWiki to determine what the knife based tools are. The grey one is probably a Timekeeper with alarm and may only need a battery to get it back to working again.
Yep, no battery in it, I'll have to pick one up. I've already taken apart the red SAK. Cleaned all the corrosion off everything and cut out some brass scales. The original red scales are in pretty rough shape. Thinking about Acid Etching the tools too.

Figured out that 84mm SAK was a Recruit. Got it finished and sharpened. Thanks to everyone that has put items in the box! Enjoy the pics!

It's BEAUTIFUL!! :hatsoff:
It looks great in brass! :2tu:
Looking sharp!
See what I did up there...
I did end up going back through the box before sending it to BigShep and picked out some 91mm parts and added a few items.

I could follow a thread watching you repair and restore these with brass. You should consider making videos.
I have a YouTube channel, but haven't done any how it's done videos, just completed mods.

I am new on here. I would love to get the box. I have some cool stuff to put in it. .i hope I can do this. It might take me a little while to learn everything.
My selection includes an awesome little piece of art in the form of a brass SAK, an "army" can opener, and a bag of Leatherman parts. I added some items, to the already full box!
Let me know if anybody else wants to participate! I can send them the box next.

Good idea but pretty much impossible. How about the European MTo contingent putting together a Surprise Box on your own? Trade it around over there. It started with Sherry just putting a handful of nice things in a box on her own and sending it. It could work there.
A box of mixed things from the US with new and used items of all sorts would be quite a task to get through taxation and customs. Not worth the trouble. Especially since it would likely be confiscated. I can see a French box working maybe with shipments within country. Or Finnish box? The US box started small. No reason you couldn't start one on a small scale over there. Best wishes. G
Send it to Europe to get some new interest in the box ? It's just I wouldn't know how to get it overseas without problems. However, if it was available here, I'm pretty sure we could get quite a few people involved. :DThe EU box was considered at the same time one was sent to the Aussies, but there was a lot of concern between violating laws and VAT potentially making it not worth it.
GAW is not a bad idea. You could also sign up for the box, invite some family and friends to each pick something out of the box, then add to the box what you'd like to send out?A few others have done this and I think it is a great idea. You get to possibly spark some interest in our hobby and share the generosity, while passing on some of your no longer used items.
I'll throw my hat into the ring once again. Have sent Bigshep a PM.
The Lazar dog's head opener. :like:
Nice repair. Does the new bottle opener look like a dog barking to anyone else? We will have to call that one the Lazar dog's head opener. Best wishes. G
I can see it. That's a real good repair on that though. I'm not sure I would've had the imagination to try that out.
