Forgive me if this has been posed before. I searched the forum but didn't come up with something specific.Based on the way you've presented your own assessment of the tools, I'd say you're leaning toward the Pioneer X (scissors).
I've been a long time lurker. Joined a few weeks ago when I came across a couple 2003 alox soldier nib on the shelf in a store for 36 canadian, and wanted some opinion. Here we are again.
Ive been trying to decide on a new sak. And searched for a comparison/opinion for between the alox electrician vs alox pioneer x.
I'm really in the fence. And before anyone says get a farmer, I have one. With all the camping, hiking, backpacking, bushcrafting, hunting, and fising I do, I have never used the saw. There is always an axe, hatchet, or real saw nearby to use, and the sak saw stays in my pocket.......it still has rough edges from the manufacturer.
Both tools seem very useful. But I'm stuck. Small blade seems like a good idea and I could keep it razor sharp. Great for boxes or regular daily tasks. However the large blade can do everything through small blade and more, and I sharpen regularly. The scissors seem more useful.
If your up for it. Let me know what you think.

Pioneer X^^THIS because while a knife blade can do many things scissors can do, it requires a cutting board of some sort. Scissors is a stand-alone tool (although that sentence may not have been proper grammar).
I don't see the advantage of two blades over a blade and scissors.
While a knife can accomplish many of the things scissors can do, scissors are often handier and more precise. There is a reason scissors are both ubiquitous and come in hundreds of designs.
I defy anyone to go outside on a hot and sandy trail and neatly trim a piece of moleskin for a blister with a knife. A simple task for scissors. With scissors, one can accurately 'push cut' cloth, tape, and some bandaging materials (some will bunch up). A knife can't do these things in the same manner, especially out in the bush...
Ahh..I forgot....other uses where scissors just work better:If we're talking about things that just work better; fingernail clippers and a beard trimmer definitley come to mind ;)
- trim finger nails
- trim beard/moustache/nose hair
- cut nylon repair patch for smurfing leaky air mattress so you don't wake up on the smurfing freezing hard ground
- cut open the last tea bag to split remaining tea with forgetful and now shivering camping partner

Well. Playing devils advocate here for fun, I can usually "tuff" it out on a camping trip to go a few days without trimming my beard, and my nails don't grow much overnight. lol  :D

You are so right! I was thinking of when I'm out on a camping or motorcycle trip and the beard trimmer and nail clippers get left at home. A SAK with scissors never gets left at home! :D

In all honesty. Your points have made me reconsider my opinion. I'm firmly now in the pioneer Electrician x camp, syph can we get a sfo on those  :gimme:

I'd think if you're using this for wiring like an electrician, you'd want to have scissors, the electrician blade, and pliers in the SAK.

When out in the woods I nearly always have a belt knife, and axe ...I don't use the can opener ever.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170916/6cb5fc744c3fa7a23b4c56208b2fab37.jpg)
