Title: What model knife is this?
Post by: Thisjk38 on February 13, 2018, 03:17:33 AM
I came across this recently and am trying to figure out which model it is. It’s the centurion tool set, but I can’t find anything about a OHO version, and with those scales. Any help would be appreciated.

Judging by the scale and the year stamp in the blade, ooks like a Soldier 08... Most likely the wood saw wasn’t opened...

If the saw is missing, it could also be a mod, where someone removed the saw layer from the Soldier (maybe it was broken, who knows).

Owner said it doesn’t have one, said he bought like that in the SAK motherland on vacation

It clearly has a Soldier year bladestamp.

Weird.

Could it be a factory second type thing?

Regardless of the model, worth the $20.

Might have just overlooked the saw since it doesn't have a nail nick.
Easy to think it's a liner that way.

isn't that little metal protrusion proud of the scales (down left corner) a broken saw blade?

The way this picture is taken you simply cannot see if it has a saw or not. Best way to find out is ask for more pictures.

That's part of the cap lifter.

Its not uncommon for nonSAK people to miss the saw if no one shows them. When I bought my Craftsman the seller never listed the saw as a tool because he didn't know it was there. I would guess Soldier that the owner has no ideal the saw is their.

If the woodsaw isn’t there, then it’s most likely a mod... otherwise some unknown special run of some sorts...

It's an early M2008, and in like new condition, I'd go for it at $20 even if it turns out to be a regular Soldier, that's a good price.
