I've been casually searching for a manual, wind up, watch, and it seems as far as new, I cannot find much to choose from other than the really cheapie ones.
Offhand, does anyone know of something in the under $100 (I'm cheap too) range, but that is still a decent watch. I don't require to the microsecond time keeping. Day/Date not really required. I enjoy wearing something nostalgic now and then. Or perhaps a suggestion for a used model to look for on eBay?
And since I'm fairly skinny, no bigger than 40mm. Larger than that, I won't wear. Just too big for me the like.
Thanks!

Well Certina for one, plenty of them on evil-bay, all from the 60's and 70's
For new watches don't discard the Chinese made Seagul or Tianjin brands as they use some very nice mechanical movements based on older Swiss design (legitimately as well).
Given you have the same dilemma as me, skinny wrists, the current trend of bigger and bigger watches is getting annoying :twak:

Indian made HMT watches can be bought for a song used on the internet. The new ones arent expencive either.
Vostok Komandirskie can be bought with a wind up movement quite cheaply.

Oh.
And dont go asking the same question on a watchforum. :D I did, and after a bunch of very helpful tips and suggestions, I blew my budget big time and ended up with a Hamilton Kahki Mechanical. (Wich I love. But my wallet didnt)
Compared to watches, MT's are cheap!

That Hamilton is nice. That fits the bill, but it is a little expensive. Worth it though I'd imagine. I've a Hamilton View Nam era wind up US Army I wear often, and the style compared to the new, is almost exactly the same. I'll really have to consider that.
