Title: New to multitools....got a ST Spirit
Post by: bdws1975 on April 13, 2008, 03:12:09 AM
Hi all,

I have never really carried a multitool but have recently become VERY interested in them.  I got a few leathermans, specifically a wave.  It pinched the CRAP out of my hand.

Well, today, my wife had a package delivered and it was a gift for me.  She had seen me looking at the swisstool spirit last Christmas and had ordered it from felinevet but they didn't have it in stock.  They finally had it in stock and she ordered it.

anyway, I LOVE IT!!!  it's an amazingly comfortable tool and I am really impressed with the tools and the design.

I'm looking forward to hanging around here

take care,
Brett

Howdy Brett!

And congrats on the Spirit aquisition! Any wife that gives her man a multitool as a gift is quite a prize herself!  :D

Welcome Brett and Congrats!

great wife mister! you lucky man ;)

Since your a smart man (gotta wife who gets great tools) we'll edg-i-ma-cate you :twak:
Victorinox makes the Swisstool(and variations of) and the Spirit(with and without scissors). One is a tank,
one is nice and easy in the pockets, two different tools.

And since we already have a dope (me) and since you have a great wife, you can't have my job! :D

Thanks for the welcome!  I am confused though!  On felinevet's website, it's stated as the swisstool spirit????

Anyway, thank you again for the welcome!!

I see it! now I'm confused! :ahhh

at the top he says; "Choose from The traditional Swiss Tool Series or the new Ergonomic Spirit Series"

and yet for the actual tool it says; "Swisstool Spirit" like you said! now I want answers!

Welcome to the forum buddy.  :)

Like what's already been said, both tools are have the name "Swisstool" in their names, the Spirit being the "Swisstool Spirit" and the others being referred to as either a Swisstool (also called a Swisstool Standard), a Swisstool X or a Swisstool RS (there is also a Spirit S as well).  For info on what these different models are, there is a sticky at the top of this forum.

Good choice on the Spirit.  It it a fine tool and I am sure you will continue to be very pleased.  :)

Bro , your wife is a very discerning lady . The Spirit is about as good as it gets in that size range . F/F and build quality are stellar . Enjoy !

Hey Brett, welcome to Multitool.org.  Normally I chime in a little sooner, but it's been a heck of a week for me!  Looks like the boys have gotten you steered in the right direction with the Spirit, SwissTools, Farmers and Felinevet!

One piece of advice before you get in too deep- the world of multitools is vast, functional and highly addictive.  Hanging around here can be hazardous to your wallet!  You may think you've found the "perfect" multitool, until you see something interesting that someone else posts, and soon you have to have it too.

Best of luck to you, and I hope you stick around!

why thank you !!!  We work hard on it.  as a matter of fact, I spent 6 hours rototilling and putting topsoil and fert in the bed she's working on.

It's funny how HER hobby becomes my project.  :twak:

Great score on the used Swisschamp.  :)  I got my one used from Tim as well and it was still in great condition.  It has been EDC'd for quite a long time now and I don't see anything replacing it any time soon.
