Title: For the haters ...
Post by: theonew on October 04, 2016, 07:41:36 PM
There seems to be overwhelming hate for the phillips driver on the CrossGrip and I do understand it. But on the other hand, I kind of find it ingenious in a way. Though it is not easy to use, primarily because it doesn't stay open in a rigid position, it is functional. As proof, I decided to remove an old telephone jack that I had installed in the 90s when we were using faxes and dial-up modems. Was it the best tool for the job, hardly. But it did get the job done :tu:

That's what a good MT is all about right? :salute: Nice pics, it makes me sad that my CrossCut doesn't have one. :(

That is my take as well

I see a CrossCut in my future very soon.

I've solved many problems over the years with "sub standard" tools. You work with what you've got, and if it does the trick, that's all that matters!

Good job theonew  :salute:

When the task at hand is simple and straightforward, I sort of enjoy using sub standard tools for the challenge aspect. But when things are complicated and require many steps and lots of concentration, having the proper tools lowers the stress level tremendously :)

Good job!
...but I'm a hater still... :)
They didn't think this through at all.
I don't think that the guy who made that has ever used a phillips driver in his life.

It is just a small flat piece of metal that rotates easily around the pivot, requiring you to hold it steady with your fingers.

Well I don't hate the SOG Phillips, but the LM one definitely blows it away
