So I think I want to purchase a brass AAA light. Show me yours and yell me a little about it. I've looked at a few but can decide on one. Wish I could find a Maratac AAA Rev 4 :)
-
This is a Surefire Titan Plus. It is made in USA of nickel plated brass and I power it using the Eneloop Pro AAA NiMH battery it came with.
The light has 3 levels, the highest being 300 lumens. This Titan Plus serves as my EDC light and has worked well since I bought it in October 2015.

You could check out the Peak Eiger. Solidly built. USA made. Single AAA. They'll make it with the QTC pill, or without if you prefer to have it just come on rather than increasing brightness as you tighten the head. I have Peak Eigers setup both ways and I tend to prefer the non-QTC. But that's just personal preference. Be aware though if you go with the QTC, sometimes in very low brightness as you adjust the head, there is sometimes a bit of flicker. Bothers some folks but it didn't really bug me much.

Thanks guys! I was beginning to think no one around here had any brass lights. I ended up ordering this one from Olight. https://olightworld.com/store/specialty/every-day-carry/i3s-cu-eos-matte-finish.html
The Titan looks awesome but I really was lookinh for the look of real brass. The Peak looks great too. I already have an old Matterhorn that I love so for now I wanted to try a different brand. And for ~$25 I figured I couldn't really go wrong.

That Olight in brass looks pretty good actually. I've one in the raw copper that has taken on the beginnings of a nice patina coloring. I may need a brass as well.

Copper one has a nicer light color with its Philips Luxeon TX LED, and a longer runtime with 120 lm.

My Olight has taken on that same great patina. Pretty nice small light and quite reasonably priced.

I am sure you will love it. Bought a regular EOS while I was in Afghanistan a few years ago and it worked like a champ.
You can use li ion batteries in it if you need Moar Power!
-
Yeah I love it! Can't stop fiddling with it. It came with an alkaline so that's what's in it now. When that dies I'll switch to an Eneloop. That's what I've been usin in my other lights. I don't know much about lights or batteries but the Eneloops seem to work fine. :tu:

I have an i3s cu inbound but its the shiny titanium gold version, not sure all of the pics here are the the raw brass version or one or 2 are the shiny. amazon had a lightning deal a few days ago for $20, cant wait to get it, will be my first brass light
-
the olight i3scu is pretty nice, has XPL emitter, compared to my i3s eos(xpg-2) its more floody, but hard to discern that its more than double the lumens when u see them side to side. with a ceiling bounce small room is definently brighter with brass version, but I question its actually 180 lumens, but I only have my eyes to compare, no equipment, either way Its quite nice, will post some pics tomorrow

Just like to point out now that I can compare these 2 lights, that brass version is in no way 180 lumens, its probably 120-130 at best when I compare it to 120 copper version.
I've had the brass for about a month and was very skeptical of that 180 rating, now I see its total bs. It's still a great light but I have even tried to get a reply from olight on CPF board and all I get was silence. when you search for threads about this light you see a complaint or 2 about this, but nobody ever followed up.
It is nice and shiny tho

First time I've ever looked at the flashlight part of this forum...and I see everyone likes brassy Olights!
I'm looking forward to joining the club. Great pictures, fellas.
