I'm not going to do all the work this year, but given that we, very sadly, don't have a MT.org rep at SHOT show I'm going ask you good folks to post any knife related videos here so as it's easy for everyone to see.

All credit to Grathr for this one. A first look at the new full tang Mora.

I like the little Lum and the extended S110V line.
But...
Sage 5 Compression Lock !

My ISP had other ideas........it's supposed to come in threes, this seems like calamity #6 for 2016 :-[ :-\ :-[ :-\

I need that new salt series revamp. It's funky looking but I like it.
I have not watched the Kershaw video, but I'm sure there will be a few I want!
-
I dont like the new Kershaw handle scale materials. A whole range of them.
The latch on the Spyderco looks like it will get in the way of cutting some things.

I thought the same. I wonder if it pivots, so you can move it out of the way?

I am saving judgement until I get the new handle material in hand. Besides that I love Kershaws new offerings. So many different combinations of blade shap, material, pocket clips, designs, ect. All very affordable and the fit and finish is always great even on the low end models. I think Kershaw is a model company other knife companies should strive to be. I am really excited about the USA made California legal switchblade Launch 4. I will most likely be saving up for one of these.

I know right. What a jackass. Your the one representing your company and all the new products and you can't even figure out how to close the pliers or marlin spike.
-
I am not excited about anything from CRKT. The one and only thing I was interested in was the pack axe, but once he said you have to buy the sheath as a aftermarket extra I lost all interest. :td:
-
That axe looked pretty good.
-
I just watched the Mora video and while I love the knife there is no smurfing way I am paying $99 or $109 (for leather sheath) for one. He tries to justify the price with all that smurf about new technologies and the best stainless steel on earth....... uh ok..... No thanks. Just because they spend a ton of money on development and paying Dave Canterbury and whatever else went into designing the knife does not mean I want to foot the bill so you can turn a profit on your obviously money pit of development. Just my opinion as always, but its a HUGE pass for me.
-
I love the inkosi, but that was released last year so nothing new there. The other three are not new models, but new designs. They took everything away I liked about the old designs so a huge disappointment from CRK. I never thought I would speak those words, but I call em how I see em. Again, just my opinion. Others may love the new design.

Just watched this Leatherman video and it was a quick one. They did not even open any of the tools on the Rebar , but I am sure a better review will come along later. As far as the Knifeless Rebar goes I am very happy they have decided to build one. I like to think MTO had something to do with persuading them with all our calls for one on the forum, but I could just be dreaming. I believe I read they put in a huge spacer and wasted space similar to the Kick which if correct is a letdown. It seems they only like to do things that are convenient for them and if the final product lacks a bit they do not care. Something I am on the fence about is the saw on the Rebar. I love the saw, but on a knifeless Rebar I might opt out of the saw. My reasoning is if I am going to buy a knifeless Rebar I want to be able to carry it anywhere. For example a baseball game or concert where a knife or multitool would normally not be allowed. I doubt this Rebar would be let in either because of the saw. Anywhere I can carry a multitool with a saw I can carry one with a blade as well so it is pointless to make it knifeless and leave the saw in my opinion. That is a very big letdown.
I like the idea behind the new Skeletool and hope they sell the glass breaker bit on its own. I also would not mind putting the new Skeletool blade into a standard Skeletool. I wish they would stop using whatever coating they are doing on their tools such as the new Skeletool. You can see it already chipping off in the video. It is not a durable material and just seems like a paint. Not good at all in my opinion.
I am surprised to hear them mention how well the Tread is doing. Good for them. I still think its a terrible product, but I guess I am in the minority as the sales are strong. All I keep thinking is the watch version was announced over a year ago and still nothing to come of it. They did not even mention it in the video as something is going on behind the scenes with the watches i'm sure. Nice of them to make the Tread more friendly to the foreign countries by making links to work with your screw types. She also mentioned making links for specific people like fly fisherman or sewers. Honestly, if I cared about the Trash.... oh I mean Tread I would have a opinion on that, but I don't so it is what it is.

What stood out to me was the launch 5.
I cannot see the use for a 2 inch auto.

For my every day cutting tasks its enough blade. Your mileage may vary. Saying you cannot see a use is strange to me.
I would get a larger switchblade, but they are a felony to carry, import, or sell in California.

Ooooh, Gimme a Jesper Voxnaes Amicus in plain edge please.
I'm also liking Burnleys stuff.

The whole reason for an automatic knife escapes me when we are talking 2 inches.

Correct me if I am wrong but I think you are only thinking of a switchblade as a defensive weapon. I am NOT buying a switchblade to be used as a defensive weapon. Its a knife used for day to day cutting tasks.
-
I was really impressed with the new Spydercos!!!
-
The Tread, as best as I can figure is not a tool, it is "industrial jewelry". Its not intended for actual use. If I was 20 years younger and had a beard that I waxed, the Tread might have a place in my wardrobe. I might even wear it on Soy Latte Sunday's. As long as it didn't obscure any of my tats (that I don't actually have), or cause a rash on my wrist when I rode my bobbed cafe rat racer motorcycle with knobby tires to the inner city cafe...
What is this world coming to? No, don't answer that...
-

I think this is the disconnect; I'd rather have the simplicity and reduced price of a manual knife.
Personally all I can see in an Auto is surprise factor.
If you are not trying to break an opponents OODA loop then KISS >:D

"Different strokes for different folks" as they say.
I like simple knives as well, but I am the opposite. I rather have a simple operating knife in a true defensive situation as there is not much to go wrong. If you are using a complicated knife In a defensive stressful situation then there is more to go wrong. If the switchblade doesn't open when I need to cut a box then no biggie. If it does not open when I need to save my own life then it is a big deal. Again, if that's what you prefer and it works for you then all the better.
-
As a side note if you are interested in fast deploying knives then look into anything with a Emerson wave. It is faster than any switchblade or any other knife on the planet. I assume you are familiar with these already though.

How disappointing Leatherman...!!!

Not a fan of tanto but at this price its a nice knife...
However, let him try to chop through a wall here or even pry a door in Switzerland*
* Walls on the house I live in are roughly half a meter thick (brick / insulation / brick) and the door is rated 8min (that's how long it takes to break in with power-tools)

I am really interested in the new high dexterity gloves they are coming out with. Its one thing that really bugs me about certain gloves is the lack of dexterity.

Not sure if that is how you spell the name.
Edit: Just got to the Lil. Lum. Spyderco is not disappointing.

Ah. I had thought that the regular Lumberjack did come with T&T.
Still disappointed that we've not seen the Pioneer with Scissors. :-\
