I purchased a used Leatherman Micra off of ebay for cheap, looked in good shape, just had a business logo on it. Any suggestions for easy removal or should I attempt to paint the steel?

The painted ones are hard to come by in that good of shape :o I don't think I would do anything to it :ahhh If you plan on carrying it the paint very well may come off anyway and then the logo will go with it  I know we have had members that have had them hydro painted (camo pattern I think) but I can't remember how well the paint stayed either ??? Whatever you decide to do let us know and take pics as well :tu:

I do plan on carrying it as a key chain, I'd imagine the keys will scratch at it, so maybe you're right. I was surprised how good of shape it is and got it for 11$. Hydro painted sounds pretty neat, will look into that. Thanks for info!

The white/ green paint scheme looks nice. The boxy logo has an old-school feel to it. I would suggest to carry as-is.

Terrific Micra you got there :like:. If it were a company logo that you despised I can see removing it. In this case it looks great IMO. Good to hear you'll leave it be. Your keys will eventually wear it down.

Nice buy. I agree with the other folks. Keep the logo.

The painted micra have alumium covers over the steel ones, I think.
You could remove them...

Sooooo, what did you decide?

As one who's studied entry level industrial automation as a part of the mechatronics class I'm in, I have to admit I like that advertising. I'd leave it on. I personally enjoy collecting quality tools with advertising. At least they didn't cheap out like many companies here do, and think giving away a bad tool with no quality and nothing working well paints their company in a good light. Several of my daily carries are knives with advertising, many of those companies I would later discover went bankrupt long ago.
My guess is that it's laser etched into the green anodization--that ain't coming off.
