Since starting the SAK Monogamy club way back and becoming quickly disillusioned with the whole thing, a shining new light entered our lives in the form of Ronald Schröder. His epic EDC has ushered in a new term here that Pabs coined - Schrönogamy. Carry however many SAK's your trousers will let you get away with.
I for one welcome our new Schrönogamous overlords :salute:
Who's in?
I'll declare my intent with todays Schrönogamous offering: Phoenix Tinker, BuSchröder and Swissclump with a BO MP400 thrown in for good measure.
-
I imagine if you went with all 1-2 layer models you could cram almost a dozen or so in each pocket lol  :climber:  maybe even make a rambo style magazine belt ypunwere over the shoulder but with all SAKs.
-
Imagine packing nothing but 58/65 mm's.... the possibilities!!
-
Now this is a club I might actualy quallify for! :dd:

And here's the man himself, being worshipped by my U Boat crew. We can't get anything done before the daily tribute song:
'Ronald Schröder, Ronald Schröder,

Okay, I'll try to join this one! I just ordered a leather pouch to carry my SwissChamp and I do want to carry my SuperTinker in my caddy daily. Will post pics when my SC pouch is ready :like:

Hey there we go. You can buy them from TSA consfiscated lots on eBay for around $2 each for the Classic SD.
-
I had a feeling yesterday that something like this was going to happen :ahhh
Today´s carry included (but wasn´t limited to) a Pioneer Solo, Carver SW, PX., MiniChamp, 100mm Pruner and Grafter. Tomorrow is my day off and my carry will be somewhat different, I´ll shoot some pics. I'm hoping my BushMagster will arrive too.

This I have to share...
Just 15 minutes ago the mailman delivered a small parcel, with in it my new alox knife, ex-Farmer, the one-and-only (of two) Magentus' BuSchröders, mine in new silver with keyring, Mags' in fainted black with a bail. You did a fine job, Mags! Thank you very much!
-
Yaaaaay! Glad it's arrived and really glad you like it Ronald - Thanks for mine too - I've been carrying it every day :salute:
-
I wear jeans and my normal EDC carry is the following:
watch pocket...Vic Cadet
right front pocket... Vic Nailclip 580
right side pocket that I sewed on...Swiss Champ
right side in sheath on belt...Alox Mini Champ
right rear pocket...Vic Climber
left front pocket...Swiss Champ in a denim pouch
The only thing that varies is the color of the Swiss Champs. I have 17 Swiss Champs, so I will switch off which ones I carry.
There have been times I have used both Swiss Champs at the same time. I have used both pliers to take the nut off of a bolt. I have used both inline phillips to loosen 2 opposing phillips screws, etc.
I use the Alox Mini Champ when I am around people who are scared of knives, so as not to get anyone excited about me carrying a knife.
I carry the Climber in the event someone I am with wants to borrow my knife, and even then I first ask what they are going to use it on.
The Vic Cadet is in case I need a little bigger blade, but still am around people who are scared of knives.
The Vic Nail Clip 580 is a great nail clipper, and the nail file and tweezers used in conjunction, are just right for opening the paper towel holders, and toilet paper holders where I work when they need refilling.

I don't actually carry the DAK every day, so usually my only blade is on the little Rambler unless I know I'm going to need a bigger blade.

Forgot to add, technically the LM Kick in the pic is bladeless, I turned it into a blunt scraper tool.

Get one with zippered pockets. Stud buttons leave an opening and may cause loss of contents. Don't ask me how I know, I just do.

No press studs Check!

I hate to nitpick (which is actually a bald faced lie), but should the term actually be Schrölygamy, since it's based on multiple SAK partners? Just a thought, carry on...

I think you didn't hit Ctrl+V fast enough, my dear magentus.
Maybe if you tried singing it out of tune after the related daily mantra/tribal/tribute song of yours?
You'd have to be really badly out of tune, though, you know... The nerve wrecking, glass cracking kind of bad I mean. :ahhh
-
I'm not singing it firiki - I am dead set against PolySAKismSchrödology and all (I imagine) it stands for. The only song it would fit into is a prog song. I may pen an opus to span over 5 double albums at some point if the muse strikes.
For today I will settle for lugging the following around:
-
And here's the BuSchröders together once again, because..........................
Reunited and it feels so goooooooooooooooooooooood

You traded SAKs with other forum people?
-
Ronald sent me two Farmers and I turned them into Bushcrafters (took the opener layers off and repeened them) and sent his back to him. We trade a lot on the forum. There's a 'wanted' section if you're after something in particular.
-
I don't have enough SAKs to do this but it will be fun to see what you guys come up with

Disposable lighters are very good for cap lifting. I learned the trick as a youngster.

The BuSchröder is in there somewhere :)

Todays bunch.
Whats your opinion on altering pics? The original one is on the bottom. With the top one, I decreased the brightness and boosted the colour.

How did you do it? My colours never come out bright enough.
-
i do not call it "altering" but "post processing". As a kid I learned to do this while making prints in a dark room, there's nothing unusual about it. It can make your pics better if done judiciously.

My photo viewer program on the computer has an editing function. Quite basic, filters, crop, rotate, contrast, brightness, colour, etc, but it works for slight tweaks.
I agree bright sunlight tends to wash out the scale colours.

IMO You will get better pics if you avoid direct sunlight. Avoid flashing too, if possible.

I'm in.

Opinels #12 aren't expensive and easily fill up a pocket. A nice addition to the SAKs, for beginning and experienced Schrönogamists alike.

GUILTY
I am carrying three (3) SAKs in a Leatherman sheath. (not pictured but included is a Classic SD).
No logic, just that the SC is the most useful and together, these three are my favorite SAKs :D

Sweet choices Team - and Sawman, one thing you don't need to factor in is logic :D :salute:

I think I've at least achieved "wannabe" status...
-
Keeping the faith.
-
Today's carry included
nine eight SAKs, six Opinels, and two traditional slipjoints. Also a Bic Lighter, a FireSteel, a FlashLight, and a key chain prybar thingy with beer opener and my name laser engraved. In my pockets.
-
I haven't really changed my carry since Mags sent me the BuSchröder, it samply got added on to whatever I had on me already.
-
I think I've at least achieved "wannabe" status...
Yes, that's exactly what I was thinking.

My 17 SAKs-and-other-blades carry turns my multi pocketed vest into an armored vest, with layer upon layer of steel protecting my upper body. It also serves as a dead weight to keep my feet firmly on the ground. :D

Very multi purpose! :woohoo:
-
...
Even then, I admit, I like having the MTs on my belt as well as the pockets full of other goodies. I like to overcarry, and have fun with my stuff even if not totally needed. EDCers FTW!
Overcarry is the word!
-
Today in my right vest pocket are keys, Bushcrafter, Opinel #8 slimline, Light my Fire steel, flashlight, BIC lighter, and handkerchief -- a fairly normal carry for anyone.
Distributed over my belt and other pockets are the add-ons pictured below. Am I going crazy, or what?
-
Crazy.......LIKE A FOX! Keep on doin' what you're doin' Ronald :salute:

Thanks Mags, you´re a real friend. I´m a bit worried though I might end up in hospital, like The Peacent, and lose a substantial part of my collection. I´m running a high risk of hernia, you know.
-
We're hoping that you stay in good health Ronald. :salute:
-
You're the invincible Ronald Schröder - just keep saying that over and over in your mind and you'll be fine. I'm sure there's room in your pockets for more :pok:
-
Just stay away from any strong magnets, Ronald! :D
-
While I do have various SAKs and knives scattered amongst my gear I don't really fit the bill for this.
There is only one knife that is on me at all times, and that's my Handyman.
Depending on occasion I'll add a folding knife (usually a Small Sebenza) to my small pants pocket.
There is a Cybertool 34 in my work bag, I need the bitdrivers for fixing some machines at work.
In my car is a RescueTool. When I go into the woods I throw a Mora in my back or pack.
But there is only one knife that follows me everywhere, and that's my Handyman. I even took it scuba diving.

Nice combos El C. :like:
I prefer carrying all of my combos at the same time :D
As days are getting colder, I´ll be wearing my work coat, or one of my camo jackets, over my vest. Voila 5 additional pockets! :ahhh
Today, the pruning shears stayed in my backpack. I carried a few Opinels but only one´s in the picture. I think I got the SAKs right this time. Sometimes I find one or two hidden in a forgotten pocket, after I made the picture. Yesterday I was carrying my Director, in its nice leather sheath, and it ended up in the washing machine. No harm done, except it´s not in yesterday´s pic.

Today I walked to the Moerputten swamp to the southwest of my hometown. I covered maybe 15 miles in 6 hours.
In my right front pocket I carried a Spyderco Dragonfly Tattoo, in my right back pocket a Pioneer Solo.
On my belt, each in its own sheath, a SwissChamp, a PX, an alox MiniChamp, a +B Carver SW, and a Protech auto.
I carried several more items in my backpack (see pic below).
Of course I didn´t need all this stuff but I like carrying it.
The first pic shows the tangled mess in the swamp. Once you get off the plank footpath, you´re done for, there is no solid ground.
-
PS I also carried the Opinels #12 knife and saw, in my backpack, and the 100mm Pruner and Grafter gardening knives, in my left breast pocket. I forgot all about them until I got home.

Thanks Mags, you´re a real friend. I´m a bit worried though I might end up in hospital, like The Peacent, and lose a substantial part of my collection. I´m running a high risk of hernia, you know.
not an hernia risk for me, but the main drawback of over carrying is that. All the stuff in the two pics below was on my pants, belt and bag (all but the tiny Ganzo and Leatherman folding knives)
all lost at once by an unfortunate, unplanned event. So, carry and enjoy, but overcarry at your own (and your tools') risk!

I can sort of understand why they took they big blades(which doesn't make the act any more legitimate), but seriously? They took your little minichamp? :ahhh
I'm sorry for your loss.
I drink to your health also. :drink:

ThePeacent, very sorry for your loss and hope the incident giving rise to it has been overcome.
Since you have the pictures, wouldn't that be a good basis to prosecute for theft? I'd definitely not let it go at that...

well the visit to the hospital was completely unexpected, had I known tthat I would end up ther of course I'd left the stuff behind.
Even though legal, they took the big blades (I had to explain to the two officers the legal code and Spanish laws as they doubted of their legality but even then they decided to "take them all" to be sure and "properly dispose of or destroy the bigger edged tools") (destroy, my ass )
I know they went home with new toys and cool stuff in their pockets, thinking their lies would convince me and theor threat of suing me for "possession of forbidden weapons" would scare me away, but I know my rights and the law and I decided to sue them instead for taking my things and making them "disappear" taking advantage of my situation and problems at the moment of my admission in the hospital.
now I've got a case running on the local courthouse waiting to the next step to happen. I've got material, photographic evidence and an inventory, made the day they took the things, with all my stuff. They won't get away with it so easily :twak:
The Minichamp, S557, MP800, P. Tool Chest, Crunch and Hold Out will be hard to replace and expensive to get in my country, and the Minichamp and Spyderco had sentimental value, that made me reconsider my carry but hopefully such a chain of unfortunate events with crooked officers in between them won't happen again.

As for health, I'm back and glad of it, nowhere near at 100% capacity yet but I can't complain. Thanks folks for caring and all the support, this community is such a good and strong aid in bad times :salute:

Sorry to hear about what happened to you.
Times have changed drastically since I was a kid in the 1950's and it saddens me that people are getting so scared of someone having a pocket knife.
I have carried a pocket knife since I was 8 years old, and I have had as many as 12 on me at times, so I can relate to you.
I hope you win your case. It would seem like you have enough evidence in your favor.

I've got one #8 which was a gift, and I like it very much.

Today I carried the black SwissChamp. And the Carver, the PX, and the alox MiniChamp.
I also carried those ten magnificent but underrated implements called fingers. Usually, when faced with the problem how to open a can with a pull tab, they suffice; today, however, I decided to use the SwissChamp´s hook. It was an outstanding performance, of course, but next time I´ll simply use my fingers again.

What in the world are you going on about Maggie?
Also what is this thing?
Also also I still have not received Greenwoody in the mail?

excellent grouping!
it's curious how the Sebenza is more expensive than those three combined, providing 1/10th of the utility factor and versatility. A beauty on its own, though, :tu:

No it's not. It costs less than half of a new Explorer.
The Smallbenza is a clone.
It's a sweet knife though.
Last week I had a real one in my hands and then you can tell the clone and the real one are worlds apart.
I really need to start to save up for a real one.

I can imagine you haven't. It's a contraction of Small Sebenza. But because it's a replica I refuse to call it by it's own name.
So I call it a Smallbenza. It's also a loving nickname because I love the thing. Very nice design and non-threatening.
-
I think I may have 'Schröder' done it today. :D

I spied a schröder of SAKs schrödering in their natural habitat.
Upon closer inspection I noticed that 2 of these SAKs have independently migrated from their previous schröders. One northwestern Rowland/Hoffritz tinkora suprus and one eastwestern Pikachu Amarillus
