So i picked up a rebar in the middle of May, it came with the new snap button nylon sheath and i like it very much. You'll see in the attached photos that under the snap it had stars around the button. I like that subtle touch and nylon feels of great quality. So today, nearly a month later, i obtained another rebar. It too came with the nylon sheath but nylon is way different, still has snap button but this time no stars. Is one usa made? the non-star one did however come with the typical made in china sticker. I don't recall one with my star version. Plus, the new one is taller. Anyways, figured I'd share. Thanks

Nice spot :salute: The nylon looks like a different grade to me just from the pics so I would say IRL it is much more noticeable :o It may very well be a case of changing manufacturers to a cheaper company :ahhh

The one on the right is the new one right? It looks better made to me?

Correct, the one i just received on the right. I like the other one they started with because it was more compact. We'll see what anyone else gets if they order one  ??

This is very true & probably the case.

Sorry if it seems as a silly post, i geek out over this stuff. I have roughly 12 LMs going back to a '94 PST. Any changes/variations are cool to me.

if it has stars, that screams "America",
and about cheapening the sheath, it's not the first time (or second, or third, or... :ahhh) that LM goes for cheaper materials, outsourced sheaths and low quality pouches.
well, some corner had to be cut now that they are going to implement the E-Voucher program :P

Very true, i almost forgot about that new e-voucher program.

Does the new ones nylon still feel as sturdy?
