Title: Couple of my axes and a hatchet
Post by: Poncho65 on April 10, 2016, 05:15:58 AM
I finally got around to taking some pics of a couple of my axes and my favorite hatchet

Here is a few group pics

(http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e276/poncho6556/20160409_145333.jpg) (http://s41.photobucket.com/user/poncho6556/media/20160409_145333.jpg.html)

(http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e276/poncho6556/20160409_145643.jpg) (http://s41.photobucket.com/user/poncho6556/media/20160409_145643.jpg.html)

The large axe is a Stanley that I picked up on ebay a few years ago and it was in very good shape. All I had to do was clean it up a bit and sharpen it and put a handle in it :tu:

(http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e276/poncho6556/20160409_145530.jpg) (http://s41.photobucket.com/user/poncho6556/media/20160409_145530.jpg.html)

(http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e276/poncho6556/20160409_145514.jpg) (http://s41.photobucket.com/user/poncho6556/media/20160409_145514.jpg.html)

The next one is a small boys axe.  I got it about the same time as I did the other :tu: There isn't a maker's mark on it but it seems to be a very good quality axe  This one came with a handle so all I had to do was sharpen it :D

(http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e276/poncho6556/20160409_145617.jpg) (http://s41.photobucket.com/user/poncho6556/media/20160409_145617.jpg.html)

Lastly is a hatchet that I have had passed down to me :tu: I remember this hatchet my entire life.  It was my mothers fathers hatchet :) I always loved helping him and getting to use this hatchet and love being able to use it now as well.  It is a Plumb brand carpenter's hatchet :D

Thank you gentlemen :salute: Owe and far as I know (I forgot to mention) that is the original handle in the hatchet as well and it takes a shaving edge very easily :tu:
