I did have a little assistance on this one. I needed a BO awl and Metropolicity made an excellent one for me from a medium screwdriver (and very effective it is too), and thanks also needs to go to Farmman for the build venue, use of the dremel, and for keeping me supplied with cups of tea to stop my mouth drying out from swearing :D
Anyway, enough of the Oscars acceptance ... piccies ...

Yes, it's BO and orange cerokoted. Basically it's a cerokoted Fuse merged with a BO Blast, topped off with Metro's awl.
It's another knifless concoction, which is fine for me as I always have a separate knife and prefer that to using multitool blades
The loadout ...

I've ditched the medium driver in place of the awl, and would be carrying this with the Phillips mounting bit adapter to handle the rest of the driver requirements. I also decided to go for the mini-driver in place of the can opener, as I can improvise bottle opening facilities easier than spectacle fixing facilities

All that was left to sort out was the name ... although in fairness once I'd decided to go ahead and buy the necessary ingredients, their was only one name it could have based on it's starting point and it's livery .... the Fuse-ilier ;)

Really digging the orange and black look! :D :salute:
-
Like that Al  :tu:
-
Most Excellent!!!
Glad that worked out. Here's some shots of the awl by itself...

BO AND ORANGE!ยก!
-
very, very nice mate.
-
Al,I was wondering why you were interested in how the orange Fuses were wearing, now I know!
Looks very good mate.Which tool did you get the saw and the file from?
-
All the innards (including the plier head) was from a Black Oxide Blast, with the exception of Metro's custom awl. Which means shortly I'll have another tool with BO exterior and stainless innards :D

It is actually :D But quite nice because of it ;) It was only recently I discovered there isn't even a cinema here - you have to go to Meadowhell or Donny. People still use local shops round here instead of going to big brand retain chains ... weird huh? :P :D :D

All tongue in cheek mate ;) Local banter between Sheffield and Rotherham, but in reality I'm a Sheffield lad too ;) ... although the bit about no cinema is true :)

Since I am an alumnus of Oregon State University, I officially approve. :D
-
:D :D I take it the uni colours are black and orange then :D
-
Quite right :)
(IPad won't allow me to link to images...)

Looks like your official mascot was beaver too! I know that was for sure my unofficial mascot for the 1st year of university too. I lived in a dorm of 500 people, only 10% male.... :D

:D I'm quite impressed I got through the strip down and rebuild without causing any damage. I still think this would be better sheath carried rather than pocket carried and clattering against coins and keys though as I normally would :)
-
Al you are not going to baby it & keep it rugged up in it's sheath   :D
I reckon it will scratch up but it will be interesting to see how it does wear
-
Oh, it'll get used for sure, just sheath carried rather than pocket ;) Just cos I use everything doesn't mean I subject them to more agro than necessary :D :D
I don't see this as an everyday tool for myself as I don't need a woodsaw, file or bit adapters that often ... but I didn't have a knifeless option for when I do need that stuff ... now I do :D

Even if I'm not a fan of the scuplted and then padded edges on the Fuse, Blast, etc, that is damn sexy. Partnered with a Bantam or Waiter, or just a p38 or a FRED, and you've got all all the core roles covered.

Thanks mate :tu: Yes a Waiter would be perfect as it fills in the blanks with zero redundancy
-
Here's what I originally put together with it as a combo
(http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/xx122/50ft-trad/IMG_5279.jpg)
The pen is a Tombow Airpress, and the light is a Nitecore T0
(http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/xx122/50ft-trad/IMG_5209.jpg)
That pen was annoying me as it was a bit on the big side - the Tombow Airpress is a great pen, just a little too big for that set up.

Well I didn't get a Bantam, Recruit or Waiter ... but I did get this instead ...

How is the nitecore? 15 lumens doesn't seem like a lot.

You're right it's not - but for off work and away from the boat it's perfectly adequate :tu: It's actually slightly higher than the very popular Fenix E01 (though not regulated I don't think). If I stand at the top of the stairs in the house with the light off and shine the torch down to the bottom, I can see the bottom step and hallway well enough, so for under the car bonnet or in a cupboard, looking under/behind furniture, or navigating a dark path it's perfectly fine - and at 21 hours runtime too :D It's a decent 5mm LED light like the E01, Tempo and such like :)

Very nice setup AL
+1 :tu: Very nice very orangy
-
Love all the orange Al :tu:
-
Thanks guys :D

Two more items, and this little ensemble will be ready to run .... :D :D
I have an orange Exotac Nonostriker which I've had for a while and I intend using that as a "lanyard" on the Scout Jr which will both aid handling and stop me trapping the bail under the blade (again ::) - Gerber pocket diamond sharpener to the rescue), and I'm talking to Metro about a suitable sheath for it all. I can get the pen back in then, and have more confidence in the retention of the peripheral items.
Once all that's complete I can sell my BG Strata/Firesteel/Torch combo pack. It's a really nice idea and everything ... his might be the Ultimate Survival Pack ... but mine is better  It did inspire me to build this little kit though, so I need to doff my cap to it for that at least ;)
:hatsoff:
