Title: Ordered a Ranger
Post by: kent ct on March 28, 2008, 12:37:30 AM

I ordered a Ranger SAK from Tim at FelineVet Tuesday. It arrived today, less than 2 days after ordering. It came from California and I live in Connecticut. More than 3000 miles. Unbelievable service, both from Tim and the Postal Service.

He also had a very nice leather case which fits perfectly for only $4.00.

Great little knife. I wanted the saw plus the wood chisel which I find handy at times. Aside from the Swiss Champ which I also have, this is the only model that has this, as far as I know. It is 5 layer and weighs 4.1 0z as opposed to 6.7 oz. for the champ. 22mm versus 33mm. thickness. I lose the pliers, Phillips, and magnifier compared to the Champ. The back tools are the same.

Comparing the rest of the tools I did find that the file is not so sharply cut as the file on the 10 year old Champ even though the pattern is the same. The knives were razor sharp.

The Ranger is a nice SAK! I prefer the Handyman which is very similar!

Good on ya mate.  ;)  The Rangers look pretty nice and Tim is the best guy there is to order SAK's from. :)

You have great taste!  The Ranger is one of my favorite Victorinox models.  It is only one, thin layer wider than the beloved Huntsman, but offers many more tools:

metal file
metal saw
nail cleaner
chisel
fine screwdriver
