General Tool Discussion / Re: Flame On! - April Firestarting Challenge

Point of clarification-  my second Day 21 is actually Day 22.

Now back to our regularly scheduled posting.

Day 23 of 30

Stuff I carried today, except for the Kick, which lives in my toolbox.  And I also had my Ronson Jet Lite after work.  And I didn't carry the file either.

I am on a roll for not making a mistake and double posting a day, but I have done it on nearly every challenge. It looks like you are geared up for some serious work. Nice file handle, I need to make one of those.

 :iagree:
I have both the old style mag glass on my late 90s Explorer, as well as the latest version on the new Explorer I bought last year.

Personally, I like the newer version better! Sure, the magnifying power is lower but the larger lens makes it easier to actually bring things into focus versus the older model.

I’m generally opposed to governments outlawing much of anything.

But when I see people hauling around 3+ D cell Maglites, or flashlights with “strike bezels”, I do wonder “Who do they think they are fooling?”

I'd love to see the text of the law Australia uses to outlaw flashlights.

Been there.  Done that.  Fixed it the exact same way.  I see you got your new user name, although I didn't see anything wrong with the old one.  Now all you need is to find a nice photo somewhere and use it for your avatar.  Best wishes.  Gary (IMR)

Nice.  Those are some husky scissors on the Gerber mini-multi.  Probably make a nice key-chain tool since it has a loop on one end.  I stabbed myself on the thumb with the scissors on a Bijou yesterday.  My leather work gloves got wet and curled up too much once they dried to wear.  Consequently I have little splinters and skinned spots all over one hand from clearing brush and briars.  And a stabbed thumb.  Best wishes, G

Noticed my cell phone wasn't charging as fast as it usually does. It seemed the connection to the charging cable was less stable and flaky. I used my Explorer's magnifying glass to look at the phone's charging port and find some lint stuck in there. I used the toothpick to remove it. Now it charges back to normal.
