Looks like P2 and P4 are now officially retired
on: September 13, 2025, 01:31:44 PM
Just browsed https://www.leatherman.com/pages/retired-products and noticed that P2 and P4 are now retired. Shame that those are now discontinued.

I didn’t realise the Retired Tools page was back.

Real shame about the P2 and P4.

Both great tools for my needs.

The charge is listed too.  Some one posted a pic on Facebook

They may have been nice tools but to me they are the tools that first sent Leatherman prices skyrocketing.

Someone said in another post how much one has to pay for the Arc, and now has to pay extra for the sheath.

 :iagree:

I'm of two minds about this. The P2 and P4 have always seemed way overpriced to me, given the somewhat meagre internal tool set. The Arc is IMHO much better in this respect, however this comes at a major cost...
Cheers!

Made of gold, was it?

It makes the Mr Crunch look easy to find.

It's sad whenever a tool gets retired, but I wasn't a fan of the Free P2/P4.  The ridiculously small file, the flat-tipped awl, and no bit changer were not for me  :(

The P3 that just sold is probably one of the rarest Leathermans you’ll ever see.

I assume it’s a factory prototype.

Corkscrew and full size file. Nice!

I’d certainly have been in the bidding if UK shipping had been possible.

That’s a shame, was hoping to get me a new one, broke the blade on my P2. Searching for a replacement blade but can’t find loose ones.

Looks good, but imo thats a lot of money for just a blade. Think I just wait till a complete P2 pops up either at Ebay or at out local online marketplace.

Guess they are heading more towards the ARC and away from the entire regular Free lineup :ahhh

I bet they end up releasing some way more expensive ARC type folders in the near future  :ahhh

Its a shame the P2 and P4 didnt work out as intended.

I think they made a really big mistake trying to convince people the P4 was a better wave when it did lack a lot of the essentials of that platform. The small tools were basically just spiced up wingman tools

They could make a killing off an updated P2 and P4 that use the bit driver from the arc but they would keep the rest of the small tools from the P2/P4, probably going to ditch the useless flathead driver to make space for it.

If they only would replace the P2 blade with the straight blade from the P4. That P4 blade is the best knife blade I've ever used from leatherman. The cutting geometry is fantastic, and IMO it actually cuts better than my arc blade since the arc is just so thick behind the apex.

An updated P4 would also do good to finally get rid of the serrated blade and get the file from the arc in its place

Optimist. We have gotten recolors of Arc, third Wave and fixed knives after ARC released 2,5 years ago

I wish they would do a proper black version of the arc and charge the same as the silver one, just like the other tools they have. The obsidian was just necessarily expensive and it wasnt even fully blacked out.

The wave alpha has been such a let down, feels like you gotta break the bank for something extravagant for no reason

And the pack of $300 magnacut knives just feel like a joke, not competitive on price at all

They're made for rich people who like to collect the expensive crap, that Leatherman makes.

This.  I bought about 3 of each when it became clear that they being discontinued, just to keep them NIB.  There is something slightly horrifying about not being able to buy them again, even though like you I was not a huge fan.

Might wanna hang onto them, collectors might pay a fortune for them in the future!

I already regret selling my P2 for 200 bucks
