Hello YAWL!!

As the title says i would love to see your favourite multitool or knife and maybe an explanation to why. No need to pick only one either, if you have several favourites feel free to share more.

Here are my 3 favourites.

SwissChamp: It was my first knife ever and its been used for so much throughout my life. Ive managed to survive without and actual toolbox thanks to this tool. It has so much sentimental value that im looking for a second swisschamp in order to keep this one at home.

Classic SD skateboarding edition: I love skateboarding so when this version was released i jumped on it and its been on my keys ever since. Opened countless packages and those scissors have cut even more things.

Sami knife: The sami are the indigenous people of scandinavia so i have allways had great respect and interest in them. Owning one of their knifes, and not just a tourist version but a real made and used by one of them is an absolute honor for me. If i ever carry a fixed blade this one will sit on a dangler on my belt.

The Arc by far is my favorite tool. I was a huge Wave/Charge fan but I can't get enough of this tool. The Tuckerman is new but loving everything about it. I have some favorite knives but I don't think there's one that tops them all. Lots of great though

Uuuuh the arc 👀 i bet that anyone who can afford it would easily pick it as a favourite!! Seems like an awesome upgrade from the wave which is already a favourite amongst many.
And that knife sure looks good aswell  :2tu: :salute:

Easy! All time fav edc folder, Delica. No explanation needed, I always seem to come back to it.
MT: Wave. The old one in the pic has been lost and I'm picking up a Wave Plus today, actually. Although I carry the Skeletool at work, my go to do-anything has been the Wave. When grabbing something else for a job, I remembered why I like the Wave so much: the ergos. It just feels good in hand, when applying even modest force.
SAK: any and all of them, but Alox Classic or MiniChamp travel in my keyring.
Fixed - whenever I venture into the woods anymore, I bring my Peltonen Ranger Knife. It's overkill, but I like it.
Spydies and Vics and Leathermans, Oh My!

Favorite knife (excluding sentimental value) has to be the CRK Sebenza 31. It is everything you need in a knife and nothing you don’t. It has the classic OHO folder look that most manufacturers have gone away from. Good 4 inch ish blade. Hollow ground. Thin blade stock relative to modern manufacturers. It’s also not meant to be a safe queen like many knives in it’s category. I am rarely without it.

Favorite MT is a little trickier. The Charge/Wave is the most functional, but I like the closed construction and dedicated drivers of the Rebar, and the Victorinox Spirit is more well made than any leatherman and has my favorite toolset. It’s just hard to open in adverse conditions with the nail nicks.

Favorite SAK excluding sentimental value would be the Workchamp. It has an excellent toolset, surpassing the swisschamp in my opinion. It is a little large for carry though. Other than that I am partial to the alox models because of perceived quality, the Explorer, and the Huntsman. I feel the Explorer and Huntsman have the best toolsets in the 91mm line.

Forgot about favorite fixed blade! Again, excluding sentimental ones, would probably choose either the Mora Kansbol, Becker BK7, or Becker BK62. The Spyderco Sprig is a good looking one though. Can’t kind photos of the Kansbol or BK7 at the moment.

Some really great and beautiful choices both G-Dizzle and Blunt Object!! 🤩 :gimme:

Youve got me wondering tho G-Dizzle.. it sounds like if you were to choose out of sentimental value you would have chosen a completely different set of tools and knives so please indulge my curiosity and share if you have any more favourites based on sentimental value.

When we were dating in high school, my wife brought me an opinel back from Italy. It has fish engraved on the handle. I keep it as new. My father in law also gave me a santa fe stoneworks folder for my wedding that I carried on my wedding day. I also have some of my grandfather’s old traditionals.

I can’t think of MTs that are too terribly sentimental.

For SAKs, my father in law has given me a Climber with gold scales, and an Evowood 14. I believe I carried the gold climber on my wedding day as well.

Fixed blades. Again when we were dating in highschool, my wife gave me a Cold Steel hawkbill style fixed blade. I also have my other grandfather’s Buck 119 that is special to me.

I don’t have pictures of all of it handy. I do have one of the Buck and the Santa Fe Stoneworks knife.

Bonus picture of my wife’s wedding gift to me as well!

Love it!! Thanks for sharing G-Dizzle! I take it that the sentimental ones are the "real" favourites. At least for me sentimental value outweights real value 99% of the times hehe

No problem! I feel like sometimes including sentimental items sometimes skews the responses. For example, of course I’d keep the Opinel my wife gave me over the Sebenza if I had to keep just one. That’s the point of sentimental value.

For me, one of my go to EDC items when I go outdoors is a Shrade Navitool. I like that it comes with a nice compass, a set of nice tools, a smallish red light that is just powerful enough to see close things in the dark, but will also not detroy your night vision, and a compartment that will hold a Bic lighter.

I get where youre coming from. But favourites are favourites no matter what  :2tu:  but like you i would probably choose another set of tools if i were to try and disregard my emotions and try to be as objective as possible. But then it wouldnt really feel like favourites anymore, great tools sure but maybe not my top picks if that makes sense

Woouw Chako thats an interesting one!! 👀 I allways tend to carry a compas, pen, paper and a lighter if im going deeper into the woods or anywhere i havent been before so having everything in a compact kit seem nice. I wonder how good the tools are tho? Is the knife a good knife or more like a last resort kind of knife for example? 🤔

If you can source an original Shrade made in the USA one, the knife is not that bad. That is usually my back up to a full size non folding full tang knife. it is perfect for smaller jobs.

Favorite?  Maybe.  I don't invest a lot of emotional attachment in inanimate things.  It is something that I carry almost every day and have for ages.  One of these days I will have to glue the scales back on.  Again.  They are barely hanging on now.
Everyone who has been on the site a while has seen this old thing.  Victorinox GAK type.
Best wishes.  Gary (IMR)

Uuh i really like the color matching!!  :like: Great tools aswell. That little pocket wrench is probably the closest i would get to a carrying a pry bar. I dont own one but i like the simplicity of yours 👀👌

I like the Arc a lot, but it's missing the serration knife.  So I removed the less used saw and added it

:iagree: if the saw isn't getting much use then the serrated blade is a definite win :woohoo:

Thanks buddy :hatsoff: The Pocketwrench is definitely a favorite for me, I have only used the pry bar a couple times but it has surely been handy to have :tu:
