Welcome aboard! When did you serve? Gerbers were a favorite of my fellow Sailors (I served between 2000 and 2006) due to the flickable pliers.

That sounds like me when I was a kid. By the time I joined the Navy, I treated my knives and multis much better. I did, however, have to fill out broken tool reports for a feeler gauge (its blades rusted before anyone got a chance to use it) and an inspection mirror that got knocked off an engine crate.
