Looking for a Powerlock holster
on: March 26, 2009, 09:57:33 AM
So I want a sheath that's made of nylon, and has both velcro and snap button. My powerlock is part of my ski gear and the leather sheath is not taking water too well. But problem with nylon is that the velcro once packed with snow/ice is useless.

Does such as thing exist?

Hey JZ, why don't you just add a snap button to a standard nylon (velcro) sheath?

Snap buttons are relatively easy to find if you look around. As to the "how", have a look at these: clicky linky.

Doesn't look very secure thou, it'll need to roll/slide down the hill with me and not coming out.

I've never seen any crafts store around here, and the only one I found via yellowpage has a big for rent sign on front door. :(

If you have the right kydex sheath, your tool will "snap" in and will have good retention. I got a Charge kydex sheath, and it fits snug.. I

Actually I made this one too tight because I don't want to risk losing it. Both hands are required to unsheath it but I like it that way.

How's the cold weather resistance? I heard kydex becomes very brittle at low temperature (below freezing).
