If Bear & Sons was an "active" part of the multi tool universe, then I'd be for it...but there isn't any Bear news or new Bear products to discuss. Not enough IMO for there to be another section/forum for them.I really wish Bear & Sons WOULD be an active multi maker...the electrician head tool hasn't been done in that size before, and aside from the Squirt E4, I don't think it's been done period. Maybe if they were into the game they'd see that SOG failed with that cutter head and fill in that hole in the market. Then we'd have something to talk about!
Its been what.....about 5 years since Bear introduced anything new in their multitools? Which is too bad really, as for awhile there they were quite innovative.

they look good as is IMO...
I don't think it's Bear orientated anymore...maybe Remington went cheapo

It's the same.Bear tools are great, and yes they're probably my favourite tools after LM, they're built fantastically strongly. But, if we had a dedicated forum for them then there'd be what, half a dozen threads to date? After that, new threads would have titles like:- How do you carry your Bear?- Do you still think Bears are great?- Bear & Sons are still great.....- What's your favourite Bear?- ad infinitum, ad nauseum....Nothing wrong with that btw, but there just aren't enough tools or interested people to have a dedicated forum here IMO.If you really want to "market" Bear tools - set up a dedicated web-site. Dead easy to do, and I'd definitely stop by and say hi Without checking, I dare say that www.bearsaregreat.com is available Anyway, I think we should have a forum for Schrade, Kershaw, Al-Mar......... (catch my drift)?
Sorry I was kinda havin a flashback

I wouldn't say it was whining exactly, and I do think it's great that people are championing the "less well known" manufacturers. My thinking is that if we had more forums, the site wouldn't be as easy to navigate, rather than thinking they aren't "worthy", if you see what I mean.

Sometime in the mid-2000's production of the tool was moved to China. Great effort was put into making the Chinese tool appear identical to the Bear & Sons USA-made tool. The quality differences are quite apparent however.

It "was" a very well made tool, until sometime in the mid-2000's when Remington started having the Bird Hunter's Tool made in China.
