Can't see where it would be handy. A fillet type blade would work anywhere one would need to get that larger ratcheting blade into. Vic bread knife perhaps.

I really dont know and thinking outside of the box... It can be a Kerambit, Ulu,and having the blade lock in unique positions may just be handy.

Should be a real treat around mud , dust , frozen slush or pocket lint ! Dumb idea , no matter how well executed .

Oh I agree it is a dumb idea, but just think of the possibilities. Remember someone had to tell Tim Leatherman his Idea was bad, but he worked on it.
I just hope someone can make it work. I for one would like to try it out.

Hawkchucker , you have a point , at one time I thought ratchetting screwdrivers were a bad idea , till I discovered the Snap-On ones . Ratchetting folders are not new , there were a couple of them in the seventies .

I think it's the wrong blade shape, should be wharncliff, so it can work as either a regular knife or psuedo hawkbill. The lock doesn't look very sturdy thou.

Agreed, but it is a start.
Some company should take the idea and run with it. Maybe something like the ZT 500 using neoprene seals on the pivot. I actually think it is an excellent Idea.

The lock looks pretty easy to disengage under heavy use , if you weren't carefull about thumb position .
