Broken Leatherman Tools
on: April 11, 2009, 02:38:21 AM
Now that I am armed with some proper Leatherman maintenance tools, I want to help our members fix up their broken Leathermans, service them, mod them etc.

To be able to do this, a stock of parts would be very useful, so if you have any beat up Leatherman tools that you want a few dollars for, I am interested! It really doesn't matter how beaten up they are, even if all I can salvage are the knurled screws, they would still be worth having!

Thanks.
I used to come here a lot.

Oh-my. Dave just started a Chop-Shop.
There is no problem that cannot be solved by the use of high explosives.

Good luck with getting parts Dave ::) :D I really hope that you get some spare parts so you can help some members out :tu: I lucked out when Neil was just taking the blade out of his PST so he might put together a bladeless version

Who knows he may be doing that to more than just that ;)

Its that cursed Leatherman warranty. >:( Instead of relegating old and broken tools to the scrap heap, folks send them back to the factory for replacement. No wonder there are so few spare parts available.

What I wouldn't give to go dumpster diving behind the Leatherman plant late some night..... >:D
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

That's what I was thinking.  Can't see there being too many broken tools kicking about.
I'm back!!

The LM warranty is too good!  :D I took a ride up to Cabelas a few weeks ago, and they had some broken LM's but they were waaaaaaaaay to expensive! I was thinking about getting a New Wave for modding purposes, and I could get a new one on eBay for what they were asking!  :D :D
