We southerners speak proper English, but the trolls of the north are basically unintelligable :D

You know, that sounds exactly like the situation over here on this side of the pond.....  :tu:

What, BS you mean? In fact, in the UK, the closest accents you'll hear to the phonetics in the Oxford English Dictionary will be from the Midlands. Southerners can't pronounce most things correctly for example,  having a tendency to pronounce "u" as "a". I.e. "curry" becomes "carry", "hurry" becomes "harry". If you ask a Shandy Drinker to say the words "curry" and "carry", you'd probably not notice any differenece, so consequently their vocabulary is some what limited the further south you go.

As you travel North, you will hear regional variations that are verging on true dialects still, but only in the south will you hear mis-pronunciation.

;)
I used to come here a lot.

That's a fairly lethal combination, linguistically speaking  ;)
