I had my plier head replaced for the same thing,  you pay to ship it to them nothing else.  Got it back with a my bottle opener replaced for the new one with a wire stripper.  added bonus I didn't even ask for.   :tu:

I wonder if I send my PPP in & say "It is hard too deploy the blade quickly" & maybe they might send back a Powerassist as a 'fix' for my slow PPP  :D :D :D :D :D :D

I think it would be pretty good.  I emailed Sog not all that long ago to chat about one of my knives I just picked up and they sent me back some info on warranty and policies not because I had an issue but just in reciprocation. This is part of what she sent me in reply.  I wouldn't hesitate to send your multi off to them for service.
If you want the info on warranty pm me with your email address and I will send it off to you.
A few of these companies go the extra distance eg: Leatherman to name one.  A letter properly written, shipped along with your tool stating how you love their products, use them everyday, explaining the issue and "is there anything they can do to help you out" will go a long ways perhaps in seeing satisfaction in a repair that would have nothing to do with defects in materials or workmanship.  :)

Dear Sean,
Thank you very much for your email!  We always appreciate hearing
comments from our satisfied customers!
Don't forget that your Trident, like all SOG knives, comes with a
lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.  So if
you ever experience problems please let us know!
I have attached our complete warranty policy as well as care
recommendations which you can review at your leisure.

Sincerely,

Carly Sabutis

Not a warranty situation, exactly.  I recently bought a PowerLock, and contacted SOG about the fact that it didn't have exactly the tools shown in the photos I had seen on-line.  They explained that the PowerLock is sold in more than one configuration, depending on what the wholesale vendor wants.  They also gave me the tool I had asked about, for free, which was "above and beyond" since there was really nothing wrong with the PowerLock.  So my one contact with SOG customer service was very positive, and I rate them right up there with Weber grills (which is at or near the top).   :tu:
