For me, if the Skeletool also came with a file, it'd be close to perfect.  Pliers, knife, bit driver and file.  That's the big Four for me.  After that, toss in a saw or even a jigsaw blade holder like the Gerber's used to have, as the next tool (if it can be done without enlarging the tool).

Non locking
Slightly shorter than a PST
Forged beefy plier head
Thick sheeps foot main blade (like the BAK)
Diamond file with hacksaw
Fine saw blade
Selection of screwdrivers (3-4 dedicated flats designed to fit pozi as well)
Awl
Combi tin/bottle opener (perhaps combined with awl)
Hex or torx bolts to hold it together

All folded stainless steel sides, no useless fancy designs, castings or add on scales or plates.

Charge TTI with an awl in place of the micro-screwdriver bit holder and no crimper in the pliers.

I want to say larger scissors too but even though they are small, they have yet to let me down. I need to do a comparison of LM scissors for all to enjoy.

(Is it possible to replace the micro-bit driver with the awl from another LM?)

Juice size, pocketclip, can opener, bottle opener (both working, so better than the can opener now), scissors, maybe a saw. Less flatheads, 2 is enough. Serrated backup blade. 154CM steel or better.

I'd like to see a multitool with a flashlight and/or laser pointer, sort of like the VIC Cybertool.  Locking pliers, Philips head, flathead, can opener, straight blade, file, and an LED would be a sweet tool to have.

Start with a Spirit X but change the can/bottle opener combo tools to dedicated flatheads.  Change one side of the file to a diamond file and that would be the perfect MT (for me!).

Hmm, what's the closest multi to my dream MT ?

I never imagined the LM Blast to be my ideal multi, I often thought of it as an oversized PST or an under-built Supertool.

Experience now has taught me to honour the decisions of my betters.

I have used every tool on it, whether I choose to admit it or not & all have performed more or less adequately. It is small enough to pocket, and big enough to abuse, it locks securely, is easy to open most of the tools, no clumping, & the Black colour is stylish.

The blade shape is not perfect, and I still have to crack out the Vic Soldier to poke holes in things - but so far, even though I didn't realise it before hand, the Blast has just about everything I wanted in a Multitool.

Mr. Nomad needs to give a Spirit X a go. More pocket friendly than the Blast & it has a awl Leatherman dream about.(cutters are too small though :ahhh )

I would love to see a Charge TTi made entirely of tool steel. D2, A2, or S7 completely uncoated and exposed to the elements. I never get rust on my tools so this would be the ultimate hard use EDC MT for me.

I second a Spirit with a pocketclip.

And duct tape. I would seriously buy any MT which can compactly include an emergency bit of duct tape in a clever dispenser. And no, rolling your own over the handles don't count.

I've been thinking about it.

Starting with a Charge Chassis,

Outside opening, locking tools:

Serrated blade with gut hook
Plain blade
File/Diamond file with replaceable T holder (ala Surge)
Woodsaw (Replaceable or not)

Inside tools:
Large bit holder
Scissors
Can opener
Universal wrench (like on Wengers, only big enough for a 1/2 nut)

I'd like to see a Charge with Ti scales, 154CM PE blade, serrated blade with cutting hook, blade exchanger (just like on SURGE- file and saw), scaled down SURGE scissors, standard pliers, large bit driver, small bit driver, can/bottle opener, and a good size awl...That would be my perfect tool. I find the heat treatment on LM's S30V blades isn't sufficient.. I get a lot of chipping when using them.

Juice sized tool with clip. Plain edge, serrated edge, can/bottle operner, scissors, maybe saw and/or file. Some screwdrivers. Made by Victorinox ;)

Bigger (Surge or AutoTool-sized) Crunch.

Surge TI.  TI on the SurgeCrunch above would be nice too.

Long, skinny bitdriver like the Cybertool.

Start with the SURGE! platform. Give it the new ST300 pliers with replaceable wire cutters- except make the pliers out of actual tool steel. Give the serrated blade a guthook a la Charge ALX. Make the blades out of S30V or 154CM. Other than maybe the tool steel I could easily see LM actually making this, so it's realistic. Going into fantasy a bit I wouldn't mind the handles being a bit thicker (I know, it's already too big blah blah) and having a Skeletool style bit holder grafted in. There would be room for at least 2 extra bits on one handle, on the other handle a similar holder for the extra file/saw for the exchanger. This way everything you need is onboard- no need for a sheath which in my opinion is more cumbersome than thicker handles.

Spirit X with clip
(I don't have the guts to do it the "J-sews way", so I would buy it in a split second)

Been a bit since I've posted, but I'll play along :)

I'd start with a Charge/Wave body (I guess they're identical?).

Outside accessible tools:
Keep the plain-blade as is, with either the S30V of the TTi or the 154CM. It doesn't really make much difference to me.
Wood saw.
Diamond file w/ metal saw similar to a Vic.
Serrated blade w/ gut hook.
Standard plier withOUT the crimper. It certainly does get in the way.

Ideally, I would like:
Dedicated phillips driver
Two slotted drivers (large and medium sizes)
Scissors
Awl, with the wire stripper groove cut out like on the can opener.
If there's any room left, the can opener. Not that I need it on a multi tool, but I can't have an empty space, right?

Top it all off the locking mechanism for the Charge lanyard ring/pocket clip, and a sheath similar to that of the Charge, and I'm a happy camper.

What would I like to see??

Well I like work multi tools SO..

NO can-opener,  (on way too many tools)
NO eye glass driver. (Sorry Leatherman)
ONE usefull blade not a two different ones.
a bit driver that offers use for normal stock bits (again sorry leatherman)
I do like the bigger sissors.
smooth flip open design
tools on inside so I get more tools in it and not taken up with outside blades.
The ability to oder and change the tool myself, so I can have THE ONE good tool that I can change from day to day tasks.

I like usefull tools only and being able to chose my own not a pre-built tool is the answer to the question what would be on my perfect tool.

PEACE
