Woz, what do you think of that Vulcan?  I've been wanting to get one for myself and would love to hear your opinion on it.  More pics of it would also be nice. ;)

Sean,

The Case Sodbusters are very inexpensive, and are excellent little work knives. Very durable, a nice simple but robust design. Queen Cutlery also makes a real good version of these in their Country Cousin series, these are worth a look as well. And BTW, which Vaquero did you get? I have a earlier CS Vaquero XL......it's a beast of a folder (second from the top in pic below):

Benner,

That is a sweet Buck!

Wow, seems you like Cold Steel. Nice collection!

I tried most large manufacturers, but somehow never pulled the trigger on a CS - Even if I really like the Vaquero and the Voyager. How are the CS serrations compared to Spyderedge?

Woz,

CS knives are actually very good, but they are generally overpriced. If had at decent prices they are excellent knives. I like them but they ain't my favorite. Though I have picked up more CS's since the above pic was taken.....I do have a hard time passing them up when I can get them cheap.

I am not a fan of serrated blades, but I do own alot of serrated knives and I believe the serrations on CS knives are the best I have used so far. I haven't used any of my Serrated Spydies so I can't say, but CS serrations are much better than those on Kershaws, CRKT's, and Benchmades in my view. CS's serration design is not toothy so they don't hang up in fiberous materials.............

.........they work pretty well for what they are.

Grabbed one of the Jr. models on sale at Lowes for $10 and change.  (Regular Lowes price on these is about $18 IIRC.)

Looks just like the bottom knife in your pic.

Really like the blade on this little knife - its belly works well for many tasks.  Classic, simple look that just feels good and solid in the hand.  Cuts very well for its size.

Great little knife that was carried semi-regularly, but then I somehow mangaged to misplace it.  Nearly certain that it's somewhere around the house, but I haven't seen hide nor hair of it for months.

You're right of course.

I like the Soddie well enough that even before the original was misplaced, I had planned on picking up another.

Next time I catch them on sale at Lowes, I'll grab up another one, or maybe two.

For 10 bucks and change, these are an outstanding pocket knife.
