I have contacted the seller he does these himself with the camo dip process. He responded that he dips 40 tools at a time and the cost would be $55 plus shipping for all 40. I ask him if he would be willing to do a couple tools only for me. No response yet.

This is the reason for my interest in BO Supertools and PST's.  :D

Well thats what I was wondering myself. What tool is everyone interested in. The cost is just for having your tool dipped. Let me do some more checking with him and maybe we can organize something.

Just to set this straight: any preparation of the tool prior to the dip (e.g. cleaning, deoiling, sanding, etc.) is up to the owner, right?

Im assuming but let me get the facts from them first and I will have to find out the set guidlines and so on to be sure it will work out fine. I am thinking of buying this one to check the Quality and maybe send it around for others to see if they would be interested in it.

OK I bid on it and I have the winning bid so far. If I win it I will snap some shots and if anyone is interested in the finish I can send it around.

Interesting. The knurled screw-heads are camo too, suggesting that he does not disassemble the tools before dipping. So how does he keep from getting camo gunk all over the blades and scissors?

In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

Looks like he polishes it off, because you can see it in the nail nicks.

Perhaps you should consider disassembling the tool first, and just sending him the handles?

I was wondering if you marked the fasteners position on the handles with the tools in. Pulled the tool apart removed the tools & then put the fasteners back into the handles - the tools, lining the fasteners up with the marking on the handles. So when you get the tool back you can reassemble the tool & the fasteners camo coating should line up with the handles camo. You would have to be very careful not to mark the handles or the coated fasteners .Would be a good idea to tape of the handles so the coating does not get inside the handles.Maybe ask the guy if masking tape or duct tape is better for the dipping process.

If you guys would be interested I could maybe cook up a really good price for a certain tool and then ship him a bunch of them for him to dip and then he could send them out to the individual buyers.  Not sure how that would work money collection wise but just thought I'd throw that out to you guys to mull over in case you're interested.

Just FYI, adding color finishes to your LM tools voids the warranty.

How do I know this? I sent LM an email regarding my BO XTi and they said just to leave it the way it is. If I did paint it, it would void the warranty..

How about other companies like SOG (Should be easier too because you can take it apart so only the handles get a paintjob)
