Hello from Texas
on: May 24, 2009, 01:46:48 AM
Hi, long time reader first (well, second) time poster..

I've long been a fan of any kind of useful gear that is compact or will fit in a pocket, multitools, knives, LED flashlights.

This is most of what I have now:

Multitools: Leatherman Surge and a new standard Swisstool (soon to be parted with)..
Flashlights: An off brand Cree Q5-WC that I modified to run on an 18650 + a couple of Coast LED lights (One Pen light and one tactical style flashlight),

As of late I've also become interested in making my own tools/knives as well...but really the only thing I've completed is my first project which isn't an original design.

Unfortunately I finally registered for the need to part with one of my multitools:cry:

Shameful that it took me until now to join the community and participate..but I'll definitely stick around.

Thank you to the warm welcomes I've already received.

Welcome buddy... And WOW, if I ever want to make a multi look small, I'll surely put it side-by-side with some flashlight or something. Just check out how small the Surge and Swisstool seem in that pic!  :o

Sorry to hear about losing your job- what do (did?) you do?  It's a tough world out there, but hang in and I'm sure you'll make it!

I was a flooring salesperson. The area I live in actually has one of the better employment rates in the country..So it could definitely be worse. Thanks for the encouragement..  I'm actually thinking about going back to school...so it may work out for the best.

For now i'll just try not to:  :ahhh
